Preschool Academy is a family-run nursery opened in 2015 to offer professional childcare and a sound early years learning environment, ideal for families in Coatbridge and surrounding communities.

As well as a homely interior, the Preschool Academy has a large secure garden that is ideal for physical play, while the facility itself is also fitted with a secure door entry system.

An age-specific approach to learning is adopted, with a Bright Stars area for babies from 6 weeks to 18 months, Little Learners for children aged 18 months to 2 and a half years, and Little Scholars for children up to 5 years of age.

Preschool Academy is in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council.

Funding & Fees

£75 per day, £57.50 per morning or afternoon session, £375 per week for full time. These prices include a home cooked and healthy breakfast, lunch and evening meal as well as snacks throughout the day. The nursery also provides nappies and baby wipes. We work in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council to provide funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year old childcare places.

Our child has been at this nursery for about 18 months. Over that time they have transitioned from the bright stars (baby room) to the little learners (middle room for 2-3's). Staff rotate and this means children know and are familiar with everyone in the nursery, and most staff are familiar with most
of the children too. Staff have been very supportive, listening to our views and adapting things as needed. We use cloth nappies and this has never been an issue for staff. Any time our child has been unwell this has been calmly dealt with. During the pandemic, things were obviously different and it has been great as time has gone on and restrictions have been lifted and activities which were on hold are now available again.

Both of my daughters are at this nursery and would recommend this amazing and friendly nursery. Their staff are amazing and take care of my girls and I wouldn’t change it for the world, my oldest child is going to primary school this year and I really don’t want her to leave.

My daughter started to attend at two years old after spending her time prior with her gran when I was working. I was really anxious about leaving my daughter and the staff helped put my mind at ease with there friendly attitudes, they also sent me photos of my daughter having fun and participating in
activities. My daughter will now be leaving this year to attend school and I am forever grateful for the care and support she has been shown. She was really shy and now she has become more confident and built strong relationships with friends and staff. They always provide a healthy meal and snacks to all the children, they also offer the children a wide range of activities such as spanish which is my daughters favourite. I can't thank all the staff at preschool academy enough for all they have done for my daughter. My daughter will truly miss every one of them.

My son absolutely loves going to nursery at Preschool Academy. The staff are so friendly and approachable, and so amazing with all the kids. I love the updates from the staff during the day, and they even send little pictures of him having fun which is amazing! So handy that dinner is provided for working
parents. At my daughter’s nursery they didn’t do this and she would be too tired for it by the time we were home. Could not be happier with this place.

My wee one has just started and you can feel the warmth from the staff as you open the door. I trust them with my son and l don’t trust many people with him and l would gladly leave my son in their care. The knowledge that he is part of their family and l also like the fact that it is a family team
mother and daughter and even the uncles helping out with making items from scratch for the garden area.

I have had three children from the family in this nursery from aged 1-4 and have found it to be amazing. When working full time I found their prices very reasonable and competitive and always support the different needs. The staff have a wide and varying repertoire of skills necessary for the development
of the children. The management and staff have, on several occasions, gone beyond what is expected to assist us as a family.

My little girl goes to this nursery. We have just moved to the area, and I was a bit worried about how she would settle in, but all the girls are amazing, and my little girl never wants to miss a day. My little girl is deaf in one ear and gets all the support she needs from her nursery teachers.

I enrolled my son into Preschool Academy when he was 9 months old and I can not recommend them enough, they are a fantastic nursery. My son is now 18 months and watching his development and motor skills grow is just amazing to see. The nursery is extremely clean and the meals they provide are great
quality and good choice. I know my son is in good hands because the staff are amazing and my son absolutely loves them and loves interacting with other kids. Seeing his confidence and personality grow is incredible. I am pregnant with my 2nd baby. I have already secured 2 spaces for my son and new baby to go back for next term once I finish maternity. Overall, it's a fantastic nursery and I highly recommend them.

I honestly can’t thank this nursery enough for the care they give my son. He’s in a full-time place and the staff are all amazing with him. He absolutely loves going to nursery, I have total peace of mind when he’s there and I trust them 100% with my boy. Everything about the nursery is great from the

This nursery is fantastic I have never had any problems or issues my both kids have attended this nursery. My daughter is now at school but my son still attends the nursery. I have seen him come on leaps and bounds. His speech and learning has come on a treat. He loves the nursery so much, especially
the staff, they are all lovely and caring and also great with the children. Management are fantastic as well. Am so glad I picked this nursery for both my children.

I am extremely happy to have sent my daughter who is now 4 and son who is 2 here. Since starting nursery my daughter has come on amazingly and is now more than ready to start school this year. After starting my daughter in Preschool Academy when she was three, I had no hesitation in sending my son here
when he was 1 and I returned to work. He is thriving and enjoys going in and participating in a wide variety of activities. Great nursery and recently added a lot of outdoor play equipment in which my children love.

Our daughter has attended nursery full time since October 2021. The nursery staff are amazing, very caring, nurturing and attentive to our daughter's needs. I’m well updated every night on what activities have happened during the day and if my wee one is upset at drop off for example the nursery will
send me an update on how she is doing and sometimes with a photo which helps to put my mind at ease whilst I am at work. I think the nursery does very well to vary the activities daily and keep the kids entertained and I like that they utilise the outdoor spaces too. Our daughter is really happy at nursery which is all you want.

My daughter has attended the nursery since 8 months old and is now coming up for 2. I cannot recommend it enough, the staff are always welcoming, friendly and approachable and happy to answer any questions and help where possible. My little girl absolutely loves her days at nursery and runs in the door
each morning. The effort and attention she receives from staff clearly shows as she has progressed so much in her time at Preschool Academy. They always provide detailed feedback at the end of each day as well as sending pictures of what she's been doing which really helps knowing she is happy whilst we're at work.

Amazing nursery, my daughter has attended since she was 1 year old and I have now kept her in with her funded place as she has just turned 3. The staff go above and beyond with her and keeps me updated constantly. She is excited to go in daily and comes out happy with lots of fun stories. I think she
