Preschool Academy is a family-run nursery opened in 2015 to offer professional childcare and a sound early years learning environment, ideal for families in Coatbridge and surrounding communities.

As well as a homely interior, the Preschool Academy has a large secure garden that is ideal for physical play, while the facility itself is also fitted with a secure door entry system.

An age-specific approach to learning is adopted, with a Bright Stars area for babies from 6 weeks to 18 months, Little Learners for children aged 18 months to 2 and a half years, and Little Scholars for children up to 5 years of age.

Preschool Academy is in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council.

Funding & Fees

£75 per day, £57.50 per morning or afternoon session, £375 per week for full time. These prices include a home cooked and healthy breakfast, lunch and evening meal as well as snacks throughout the day. The nursery also provides nappies and baby wipes. We work in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council to provide funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year old childcare places.

The staff at the nursery are all extremely lovely and helpful. They have supported both my boys when they were 1 1/2 and 2 until they graduated. The staff support not only the children but the parents too. They were there for us all when I started university when we moved house and moving on from Nursery
to school. They are wonderful here and couldn’t ask for a better nursery.

I cannot recommend this establishment enough. The care and the compassion they have for the children is amazing to watch. I was very nervous about putting my little girl into nursery as she couldn’t communicate verbally at the time so I was worried she couldn’t tell me if she had a bad day or good day
etc. However, my little girl is now 4 and away to school and I honestly made the best choice in having her attend preschool. She is so confident and outgoing and I have preschool to thank! The communication and social skills she has developed during her time has made her more than ready for school at the age of 4! I have now selected preschool academy for my 10 month old girl as I return to work and I feel so at ease! I trust them fully and am excited about her new experience, no doubt her big sister will be very jealous as she knows the fun she will have!

My little girl was in preschool for 3 years and loved it. The staff went above and beyond to meet her needs and get her ready for school. I think preschool is perfect for children with additional needs, as it is a very warm, welcoming and personal experience for the children. My little boy is currently
at preschool and I wouldn’t have him anywhere else! I highly recommend!

My daughter attended Preschool Academy for 4 and a half years and in that time she reached every milestone and came on leaps and bounds. Nothing was ever a problem for the staff and my daughter had made loads of friends from the kids to the staff.

Our son attended Preschool Academy from approximately 8 months old until he left to attend School. We chose Preschool because the staff were welcoming and nurturing towards the children and the parents and this continued throughout. I always felt comfortable to speak to staff about any worries. Our
son was encouraged to build and maintain friendships, learn through play (indoors and outdoors), practice his numbers and alphabet as well as exploring emotions and feelings. The feedback after each day was very useful and recently, due to Covid, the feedback was given electronically which also worked well. The Facebook page is also great to see daily pictures of what your child has been doing that day. Our son said his favourite part of nursery was getting star of the week, sitting with his legs in a basket to sing songs and reading stories with the staff. The staff have helped us prepare him for school, however, I know he will definitely miss the nursery. Thank you very much!

I can't recommend enough. My child loves all of the staff and I can relax knowing he is well looked after. The staff have helped tremendously with his speech delay and he has come on leaps and bounds in these last few months. I love how all meals are cooked on-site and they receive all meals including
dinner. The range of activities is fantastic and vary from day to day.

My son had attended this nursery since he was 1 and a half, the nursery has been very accommodating for us as we both worked shifts. They are all caring and compassionate and have made my son's nursery time very enjoyable. The meals they provide are great quality and good choice. The nursery is extremely
clean and on return after COVID they had taken every precaution to ensure hygiene standards were kept up to date and kept all wee ones safe. Overall a fantastic nursery and would highly recommend.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was 11-months-old, he is now almost 4. The care he has received has been amazing, they are like a home from home. I honestly cannot recommend the staff and the management enough, they have gone above and beyond for us. I feel like they are a part of

I find this nursery is extremely accommodating for working parents with realistic opening hours. The knowledgeable carers work hard to educate the children with age-appropriate learning both on and offsite. The fresh meals are prepared in the nurseries kitchen and are nutritious and varied. I cannot recommend Preschool academy highly enough! My little girl has been in full time since April of this year allowing me to return to work and we have noticed she has come along leaps and bounds in her development.
The staff are incredibly friendly, lots of activities for the children to do, home
cook meals made onsite and convenient drop-off and pick up times.

Our twin daughters started in August 2018 and they have settled in well. All staff are very friendly and great with the girls. Our girls have come on a treat since starting.
Small and cosy and all meals included in price. Definitely, recommend to anyone.

I cannot fault Pre-School academy in any way. My daughter, who is now 1 year, has been in attendance full time for the past 4 months. She is provided with age-appropriate activities including arts & crafts, learning and days out. She is part of a stimulating environment where she is encouraged to meet
milestones and interact with other children and adults. She is provided with a healthy balanced diet with snacks and water included throughout the day. She is thriving and is encouraged by all staff. It is the perfect environment for her and I am 100% reassured that she is safe and cared for while I am working. It is like her second home!

My two children have previously attended Preschool Academy from September 2016. This educational and childcare providing centre has equipped my two children with lifetime knowledge and a good foundation on which my first child is building on, at her Primary School P1 Class. After relocating out of Coatbridge,
my spouse and I were very jubilant when a P1 teacher stated that our daughter has a very good educational foundation. Preschool Academy has three different classrooms and is, to the best of my belief, a "Centre of Excellence" that offers parents, the required assistance, for parents in need of childcare, as the parent aims to go back to work/college/further education. Doors open at 7am, allowing parents to drop children at the early hours of the day. Food is prepared daily on site and from fresh, and meals cooked to suit various diets. Staff at this centre are very caring, friendly approachable and the children's happy faces justify the best caring services they receive.

My son has been attending Preschool Academy for a few months now and he has thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I see him developing his fine motor skills, I see him sleeping better and eating better. I put all of this down to the nursery and its wonderful staff. I have no worries whatsoever leaving
my child in their capable hands, I would highly recommend the nursery to everyone that needs childcare.
