Preschool Academy is a family-run nursery opened in 2015 to offer professional childcare and a sound early years learning environment, ideal for families in Coatbridge and surrounding communities.

As well as a homely interior, the Preschool Academy has a large secure garden that is ideal for physical play, while the facility itself is also fitted with a secure door entry system.

An age-specific approach to learning is adopted, with a Bright Stars area for babies from 6 weeks to 18 months, Little Learners for children aged 18 months to 2 and a half years, and Little Scholars for children up to 5 years of age.

Preschool Academy is in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council.

Funding & Fees

£75 per day, £57.50 per morning or afternoon session, £375 per week for full time. These prices include a home cooked and healthy breakfast, lunch and evening meal as well as snacks throughout the day. The nursery also provides nappies and baby wipes. We work in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council to provide funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year old childcare places.

My daughter started preschool academy just in January and she absolutely loves coming . The ladies at preschool academy are just lovely to her . I can't believe how much she has came on since starting. Highly recommend pre school academy

Great nursery! Daughter loves all the staff and is learning lots. I've noticed a difference in my daughter since joining the nursery, she love socialising with the other kids. Her speech is also coming along since joining.

Such a great wee nursery, my 1 year old daughter goes here and has settled so well, she loves all the girls and has learned and developed so much since going. Overall my experience with pre school academy has been amazing my daughter comes out with a smile on her face and says she's had a blast every time I pick her up there is no faults I could say they are brilliant with communication and letting me know how she is throughout the day

My son has attended Preschool Academy for a couple of years now and I'm not kidding when I say it has been the best choice I've ever made. The girls who work here are absolutely fantastic!


They always go above and beyond, my child's confidence has grew incredibly due to the efforts of the staff

members. Constantly teaching new skills, allowing the children to explore outdoors while being in a safe environment - putting parents at ease knowing their children are well looked after and being given a great start to their education.


I highly recommend this nursery to every parent!

My daughter attended this nursery & now my son who has been there since 11 months old & will be 5 next week and he has absolutely thrived there. He is excited to go in the mornings & loves to tell us about his days. The staff always give us a debrief at the end of the day and even through difficult
behavioural stages they were very supportive & i have positive experiences all round with both my kids.

My daughter started in September and there are not any other children in our family that are her age and she was unsure at first but now she absolutely loves going to nursery. The growth I've seen her from gaining so much more confidence, speech and her overall development has been amazing. The staff

Choosing this preschool was the best decision I could have made for my son. The care provided here is exceptional - the teachers are passionate, creative, and always come up with fun activities that support every aspect of the children's development. The atmosphere is friendly, warm, and full of smiles,
and my child always leaves happy and energised.


My son absolutely loves going to this preschool - he adores the staff, who treat the children with care and kindness, as well as his classmates, who have become his true friends. It's clear that the children feel safe and happy here, and their joy is the top priority for the team.


I wholeheartedly recommend this place to any parent looking not only for a safe environment but also for an inspiring space for learning, play, and discovering the world. We couldn't be happier with our daughter's nursery. From the very beginning, the team has created such a warm, nurturing, and welcoming environment where children truly thrive. It's clear that the staff genuinely care about each child's individual needs and development, and that level of dedication
gives us complete peace of mind every day.


The activities are always creative, engaging, and thoughtfully planned. We've seen such wonderful progress in our daughter's confidence, communication, and social skills since she started.


The nursery is always clean, well-organized, and filled with a positive energy that makes it a joy to walk into. Communication with parents is excellent-we're kept informed about daily activities, milestones, and any updates, which makes us feel truly involved in her journey.

The staff at the nursery have been incredibly supportive from the very beginning, helping my son feel welcome and comfortable. He has made such wonderful progress, and it's been amazing to see him grow in confidence and start making new friends. The variety of food options for the children is excellent
as well.

My daughter has loved her experience at Preschool Academy. There is a variety of things the children get to experience such as Spanish (a highlight) and yoga. The staff have been really supportive and helpful we had a challenging few months working on bad behaviour and then potty training staff really
helped support and trying different things to make positive changes including reward based systems.

Couldn't recommend a better nursery for your child, my daughter has been there since April 2024 and she absolutely loves it, she gets so excited to go every morning she is in! The staff are lovely, especially the girls in the baby room, feel 100% confident in the care they give my daughter and have

Great staff, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Families and outdoor space are excellent, the work they do with the kids is brilliant. Staff so friendly. My son has come on so much since attending Preschool Academy. I would recommend to anyone.

My son has attended Preschool Academy since August 2021. I could honestly not fault the nursery at all. I feel at ease when my son is here, I know he's well looked after. The communication from staff is excellent. He receives 3 hot meals in his day here, which he loves. The learning standard is amazing!
My son can write his name and is constantly improving in all aspects of education that he will need to transition to school.
All in all the place is fabulous. I'm so glad I chose Preschool Academy when I returned to work.

All the team are great at what they do. Have never had any issues and they are always very engaging in relation to my child's progress. Always on hand when I have any queries. My child loves going and goes in smiling and comes out smiling and his progress done the last year has been amazing.

My daughter has not enjoyed going to nursery she is only a year and a half old but the staff at Preschool Academy have been so patient and understanding towards her and made me, as a parent, feel so comfortable leaving. She is now settling in much better thanks to the caring staff.

I wouldn't recommend this nursery. Staff and overall facilities are not up to standard I would expect when caring for young children and vulnerable additional needs children. Overall not a great experience.

Wish I'd never sent my child to this nursery. I have had nothing but issues since my child went here and constant false promises. You can also never get hold of the manager when anything goes wrong. The only establishment that charge you for a service they cannot provide constant calls to pick your
child up because they cannot cope.
