A home-from-home nursery in Greenwich

Located in a residential development area, Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool, has been carefully designed to support your child’s education and development, from 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery provides an enabling and stimulating environment with fun and challenging activities that are age and stage appropriate for all their children. They have five large, open-plan rooms tailored to each age group, and a lovely external play area where the children can flourish and explore.

Children have free flow access to the garden from the 2+ rooms and babies have access to the garden daily at an allocated time, giving them the space and opportunity to explore. Outside, the children will love playing with the mud kitchen, water wall and in the Growing Gardener’s area, where they plant a variety of flowers. The nursery also has a climbing frame and balancing beams in the garden encouraging the children to develop their gross motor skills, and soft play is used both within the rooms and the garden for the younger children too.

At Greenwich nursery, the carefully selected staff team lead the children through a range of educational activities, such as number and construction activities, scavenger hunts, sport activities, messy play, crafts and turn-taking activities.

For babies and toddlers, the nursery prides itself in providing a safe and exciting environment, rich with opportunities to explore, with books, singing and play. The baby room has a cot room where they use calming music and sensory lights to create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere to help the babies sleep. Preschool children are well prepared for their transition to school through the nursery's Growing Enhancement programme, unique to Bright Horizons.

All the team at the nursery are excited to be part of every child’s journey and look forward to conducting a personal nursery tour, book yours today!

The nursery and the staff have been all amazing. My daughter really felt welcomed and secured from day one. This month will be her last in the nursery, but they gave her a great start for the new journey that she will be encountering in September. All the staff were caring and supported her. Thank you
so much for everything.

My daughter has only been going for a few months, but so far I can’t fault the nursery. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I get daily updates on how my daughter has been and I’m always informed via email if there are going to be any changes to the nursery or if dress-up days are approaching.
When I ring to see how my daughter is getting on during the day, they’re always happy to talk to me. The food selection is great and I’m happy my daughter gets to try a wide range of different flavours. I only got to view the nursery briefly last year, due to COVID, but I was happy with how the rooms are set up.

Our child has been at the nursery for over a year since he was 7 months old and we think it is brilliant. He comes home every day relaxed and nourished. The staff seem to really care about each of the children.

It has been one of the best decisions for our baby. She is now 14-months, and she absolutely loves it, she is been going there since she was 9-months. I can see how much she is developing in her character, her confidence and her independence. We have also noticed how much better she became around kids
and adults since going to daycare, which is something we care a lot about and want to ensure she gets, especially during these weird times of lockdown and being away from family. Keep it up, Bright horizon, it has been a great experience so far, and we look forward to more times for her with the whole team. Thank you for being such a great family and for caring for her the way you do.

We have had a wonderful experience at Greenwich Bright Horizons. Our son has really settled in well with the kind and caring support of all the staff. The variety of activities and food provided have been excellent and our son has really blossomed in all areas since attending the nursery. The staff
are very happy and welcoming on arrival and are willing to work with you on your goals/progress with your child e.g learning to feed themselves. The staff are very happy to reply to emails and answer calls and offer reassurance and patience. We would highly recommend this nursery to our friends and family, thank you.

My boy has been attending the nursery for a year and a half, and it has been great.
Now that he is in preschool, he is enjoying it tremendously, he loves his friends and his teachers (he is in love with one of the girls).
Carers and management are great.
In these difficult times, they did an
amazing job caring for our children in a safe environment as well as reassuring the parents and giving them support when needed. We are really grateful.

The Greenwich Bright Horizons nursery did an amazing job with organising my son’s 3rd birthday in September 2020. During this pandemic, they made him a cake, beautiful picture poster of him and a disco on the day. He thoroughly enjoyed himself with his nursery friends and staff members. I’m so grateful
to this nursery for always being amazing and caring so well for my child.

Our son is always very happy to go to the nursery and comes back with plenty of smiles at evening pickups. Staff is mostly friendly and caring towards each child, even with the current covid circumstances. Everything is still paper-based, which is a bit outdated. Other nurseries have apps to see what
the children are doing at any time and when they are fed/changed/sleeping. Here, we get daily feedback that's on paper only.

Our daughter has settled quickly into Bright Horizons Greenwich and loves it. Every day she is greeted warmly at the door and she comes home with a report of all the activities she has done during the day - from singing to painting, playing outside and reading stories. Her development has come on leaps
and bounds since starting and we couldn’t recommend it more.

My daughter attended this nursery since she was 11 months old and it’s really made her blossom. The staff spend a lot of time teaching the children, for example, encouraging her to walk, feeding herself, using an open cup, follow instructions, helping her to become more confident and having a lot of
fun. They have a great routine with structure and a variety of activities every day. The meals are all prepared freshly on-site and she eats well so they must be tasty! The staff are really friendly and helpful especially management who respond to queries promptly. They’ve always given her a key worker that she’s bonded well to and I’ve felt it’s been an environment in which she’s cared for and been able to thrive in as she was very shy when she first started and now she runs in.

The nursery staff and the management are wonderful and they are very passionate about what they do. They are always very open to listening to your requests and they do their best to accommodate them. We can see from the happiness of our daughter she is well looked after and she is enjoying the time
there. At the end of the day, the staff will hand you a paper with all the details how the day went with your kid, including which food has been eaten, the nap time and the activities. It's very useful and we love to read it together with all the family. We can't say thank you enough for what they are doing!

Both my children attend this nursery and my eldest has just left after three years to go to school. She really thrived and was stimulated by the activities right up to her graduation. There are some excellent staff here and the management is very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

It is of great comfort to see my 14-month daughter leaving happily for her class each morning. She seems to have lots of fun and has adjusted very well due to the help and care of the nursery staff. She has developed very much since joining the nursery and has become more independent and socially active.
The staff are always friendly and are daily updating us with our daughter's progress and daily life. So happy that the nursery has spacious classes and a good-sized garden that kids visit every day.

Our son has loved his time at Bright Horizons Greenwich. He really blossomed in pre-school and we can see his confidence in himself and tackling new situations. He has developed into a kind of little boy who knows what he likes but understands and considers others. The staff are friendly and genuinely
interested in what our son loves to do which no doubt has helped in growing.

We have been very happy with Bright Horizons Greenwich Day Nursery. Our son always seems happy whilst he is here and the staff are lovely. In July the staff organised a graduation ceremony for the pre-school children leaving to go to school. It was a wonderful morning of party games and ceremony. A
great time with parents, friends and staff.
Thank you for providing a lovely nurturing environment for our son.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.214)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.214) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.940 for Bright Horizons Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (79 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.94
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.274 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 number of registered child places is 12.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.2 = 0.574
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
