Abacus Ark Maida Vale is a warm and welcoming day nursery providing high-quality childcare for children aged 6 months to 5 years in a calm, supportive setting.

Located in the heart of Maida Vale, the nursery works closely with families and offers a settling-in period to support a smooth start. Government-funded childcare options are available for eligible families.

Led by an experienced Nursery Manager and a caring, professional team, the nursery delivers the Abacus Ark First Steps Curriculum.

This is a play-based approach centred on focus, independence, social understanding, and trustworthiness. Designed to support working families, the curriculum helps children build confidence, develop early learning skills, and prepare for a smooth transition into school.

The nursery follows a largely all-inclusive approach, with fees covering daily care, age-appropriate learning activities, extracurricular sessions, essential baby care items such as nappies and wipes, and meals.

Although the nursery does not have on-site outdoor space or soft play facilities, children benefit from regular outings to nearby park, where they enjoy fresh air, physical play, and opportunities for outdoor learning as part of their routine.

Children enjoy two freshly prepared hot meals each day from trusted food partner Lune & Wild, created with nutritionists to support healthy growth and wellbeing.

I am very pleased with the education provided to my daughter. It was very wholesome, not only academic but also the arts and sports as well as etiquette and boundaries. All of the staff at Abacus Ark, Maida-Vale have always been welcoming and I would wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to anybody
in or around the area.

Brilliant nursery overall, very warm and welcoming staff that builds an excellent rapport with children. Use of the web app to update parents with comments and photos is a big plus.
Shame the nursery does not have its own outdoor space but compensates for this with regular trips to the nearest garden
space, parks and libraries. No on-site kitchen but in the process of chasing food providers. Overall great, especially the lovely teachers.

My daughter is almost 3 years old and has been attending Abacus for the past 6 months. I can recommend enough. The staff is so welcoming and smiling all the time. They give you great and precise feedback at the end of the day. It feels like a small family. My little one is rushing to go to nursery in
the morning and I can feel the progress she has made by listening to her singing all the songs and stories she learns, colours, shapes and independent playing time as well. They are not afraid of putting out some messy play, going out 1/2 times a day to local garden or library in winter!
I was also amazed by the activities proposed: dancing lesson, football, and drama to keep them very busy even at a small age.
Of course, some nurseries have bigger indoor space but it is very well organised and lots of different corners and resources.

This is a great nursery. My two kids come here and I have been pleased. The value for money is also brilliant compared to local ones.
The staff are wonderful and positive. My kids have settled in amazingly and I think this is not only down to their personalities but also how safe and welcome they feel
at the nursery.
The downside I would say is the outside space. It is great that they learn about road safety but sometimes having somewhere on the doorstep is also nice. I think the initiatives with partnering with local businesses such as the gym, library visits etc is also brilliant. Overall, very well done to everyone at Abacus Ark nursery. A big thumbs up.

My daughter has been at this nursery since 2 years ago.
Her home language is not English, so she had an anxious feeling at the beginning stage. However, all the teachers of this nursery are wonderful, professional, not rude and very active with the children. My daughter has good confidence with all
the teachers.
Although this nursery doesn't have a garden, children can go to the garden near the nursery every day in good weather.
I'm very positive about this because it's good training for walking and learning about public traffic.
Anyway, my daughter and I are very satisfied with this nursery.

Both my daughters have been to Abacus over the last several years and we have always been delighted with every aspect of the nursery. The environment is lovely and there is plenty of outdoor activity in fine weather. The staff are amazing with children and parents and there is a real sense of the children
being individually nurtured to build their skills, confidence and esteem. I visited and used various nurseries locally before this one and there is really no comparison to Abacus.

Abacus Ark is an excellent nursery. My daughter started when she just turned 1. All the staff made us feel welcome and really good. Her key teachers took time to reassure me because I was worried. My daughter never cried and knew that her teachers would take care of her with smiles and cuddles. She
learned and grew a lot with Abacus Ark. She goes to the library, to the park, she has music and dancing classes and now she is a pro at football. I truly recommend this place.

Kaysha Watts

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2016

Kaysha is the Nursery Manager at Abacus Ark Maida Vale and has been part of the Abacus Ark family since 2016. She began her career at the nursery as a Key Teacher and has progressed through a number of leadership roles, including Third in Charge and Deputy Manager, before stepping into the Nursery Manager position in September 2024.


With nearly a decade of experience within the setting, Kaysha brings strong knowledge of early years practice, team leadership, and family partnership. She is passionate about creating a nurturing, well-organised environment where children feel safe, confident, and supported to thrive. Her leadership style is rooted in consistency, warmth, and a deep understanding of child development.


Kaysha is committed to continuous professional development and is currently undertaking an Operations Manager apprenticeship to further strengthen her leadership skills and support the ongoing growth of the nursery.


She values the close relationships built with families and staff and believes that a happy, supported team is key to providing outstanding care. At the heart of her role is a genuine love for working with children, whose energy, curiosity, and individuality bring joy and inspiration to every day.

Dan is the Finance Manager at Abacus Ark and has been with the company for over 10 years. He plays a vital role in overseeing the nursery group’s financial operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
