Kindred Odstock Nursery and Pre-School

Our daughter has been attending Odstock day nursery since September 2018 and there would be no other provision I would want her to attend. It is a home from home - her Odstock family have seen her grow from baby room to pre-school and without a doubt, she is even more amazing because she has been supported to flourish and thrive in the care of the superstars who work here. The relationship key workers have not only achieved with our daughter, but us as parents and they are one of a kind and I have always felt so comfortable and trusting in their approaches to development and compassionate, respectful care rituals. Our daughter absolutely adores this place, as do we - she is stimulated attuned to her own development and needs, emotionally supported, entirely adored by the staff and admittedly, she isn’t this awesome just because of her parents. If you want your child to be entirely valued for their individuality, form secure attachments, be adored and thrive - then Odstock is your place.

Odstock Day Nursery and the team are the most enthusiastic, motivated, child-centred, sensitive team in child care I know. My son and daughter have both been at Odstock since they were 6 months old and they were like family, welcomed every day with open arms. They were approachable at any time for any issues that arose in or out of nursery and went above and beyond to help my son adjust to have a new sister by coming to our home and helping us put tow their strategies. My son seemed to be allergic to the world in his first year and the chef worked incredibly hard to make sure he was given a nutritional meal. I cried when I left as this was a group of people that held our hand through the new journey of parenthood and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Both of my children attended Odstock Nursery from 9 months until their time to attend primary school and they loved every moment. The relationships that the staff build with all the children, not just those assigned as key workers is remarkable. What drew me and kept us over anything else is the respectful learning ethos which is embedded throughout every aspect of the nursery and the staff genuinely share the same beliefs. From the calm approach to learning through play for the children and the innovation and holistic training opportunities for the staff to the nutritious and locally sourced, seasonal menu, Odstock is truly outstanding in their field. Our time at Odstock was cut short due to COVID and my youngest starting school in September but that didn’t stop 2 key workers contacting me to see how he got on. I am so grateful for the time that both boys spent at nursery, for the staff’s care and attention and the friends for life that both the boys and I have made.

Their approach since reopening in June after lockdown has been superb and the faces of the children as they wait to go in the morning is the best testament to that. I haven’t had a moment of worry since my daughter has returned. My daughter joined this nursery as a ‘non-eater’ and the gentle, encouraging, accommodating steps they took to support me to help her on this journey will always stay with me.

My son has attended Kindred Odstock since he was 8-months-old and I cannot fault the nursery. The whole team have been so welcoming and made me feel at ease leaving him. Throughout the reopening process, I have felt everything was well communicated and I have always felt that everything is safe and my little boy is loving being back.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at this nursery (pre-school). Always helpful and friendly. They have been brilliant during the COVID crisis and we felt very safe when sending our boy back there. My boy loves his time there too!

I cannot fault this nursery, having sent my child here since she was 18months old. She has grown with so much confidence, and always comes out full of enthusiasm to tell me what's she's been up to for the day. She is now three and I'm eager for her baby sister to start in September. I wasn't at all worried about her returning to nursery after Covid-19 lockdown as the care and safety measures they put in place put me at ease immediately and the communication we receive all the time is excellent.

I cannot fault this nursery. My children love it and are beautifully cared for. I love the ethos - children seem to be encouraged to really discover things for themselves. Learning appears to be facilitated in a really exciting and natural way rather than too structured or formal. The staff are really friendly and caring.

They have an approach where they don’t have toys but encourage the children to create from bits and pieces which means every day is different and the staff work hard to create new set-ups each day. My friends who have had children transition to school said the nursery prepared them very well for this.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this nursery.
