Kindred Odstock nursery is a warm and welcoming environment where the staff are passionate about the mission to create inspiring worlds full of awe and wonder for little ones to grow and thrive in. Kindred Odstock is nestled in the village of Odstock in Salisbury. The nursery offers exceptional childcare and early years education to children aged from 3 months up to 5 years and is are open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm (with session times to suit your needs). The nursery has an impressive large outdoor space and innovative indoor environments.

They are passionate about loose parts play and follow a Reggio-inspired approach to learning and development. The staff have immense respect for the children and work hard to captivate and ignite their interests.

Our son adores his days at Kindred Odstock Day Nursery and Pre-school. He is always excited to go and at pick up he is smiling, having had lots of fun and learnt a lot. The staff are incredibly caring, supportive and go that extra mile to ensure each individual child’s needs are catered for. They keep
you up to date on the app so you know how your child is getting on and also provide a weekly summary assessment of their development. They’ve also been very flexible throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, taking into consideration each family’s situation. I cannot fault them and would happily recommend them as a childcare establishment to my family, friends and colleagues.

My little boy has been going to Odstock nursery since September. He was due to start in March but due to the pandemic this was unfortunately delayed. The nursery were so understanding and despite the restrictions when my little boy was finally able to start, they spent such time and care settling him
in and now he absolutely loves it!
We’re updated throughout the day and receive a write-up and photos every week with what activities our little boy has been up to, what friends he’s played with and what he’s learnt. His brilliant key-worker also gives us ideas we can encourage him with at home to help with his development.
The food is varied and healthy and although to start with our little boy didn’t eat very much (I think because everything was new and a bit scary) he eats lots now and it’s unusual if he doesn’t have more than his normal portion!
The staff have always been so positive and friendly and I’m worry-free at work knowing he’s being looked after so well.

Both of our boys have attended Kindred Odstock so we have five years of experience of the nursery and staff there. I can not imagine a more supportive and stimulating environment for children. The staff there are exceptional in their commitment and care for the children that they look after and each
child is treated as an individual. The children have wonderful opportunities for creative and imaginative play, for stimulating learning, for independent tasks and for building relationships. We have always been very happy with the nursery and found they communicated well.

My daughter started at Kindred in February 2020 in the baby room, then the pandemic happened, so unfortunately she then had a 5 month break away. I was so dubious about her starting back again in September after the big break, but honestly I don’t know why I was worried. The staff were empathetic and
made sure she was happy through out the day. When I picked her up I could clearly see she’d had an amazing time. The staff really do care about the children and their parents; I always feel I’m kept up to date with what she’s been up to through out the day and I love the updates on the parent app.
I feel the nursery is always clean and is a very welcoming environment and I love the fact they use natural objects rather than plastic toys, which encourages the children’s imagination and open ended play.
The garden area is amazing, with so much space for the children to run, climb and explore.
I couldn’t be happier with the nursery and would definitely recommend to any of my friends.

We are so so happy with Kindred Odstock. Our little boy loves going and always learns so much. More than that you can tell the staff love what they do and they go above and beyond to give the children all the opportunities to develop and nurture their curiosity and creativity. I think they keep us well
informed and we always know what is going on in the learning and the care of our little boy. We get updates and ideas for how to develop his learning at home. The outdoor space and outdoor learning is so exiting and they are constantly changing the play space to keep it interesting. They do fab food too!

My son has just joined the nursery and absolutely loves it. The staff have been great and have made him feel extremely welcome.
We have moved him from a nursery in London and we are extremely happy with the move.

My son has not long started at Odstock Nursery and we couldn't be happier with how he's settling in.
The communication, reassurance and flexibility from the manager and staff in the lead up to our son starting has been incredible.
They allowed him to start a little bit earlier than first expected
and to ease him in as gradually and slowly as he needed.
They listened to all of our worries and concerns and provided options and reassurance for these making us confident this was the right nursery.
We thought it would take a while for our son to settle in, his first year of life having been during Covid but to our pleasant surprise he settled in much quicker than expected.
The keyworkers are beyond amazing. They are so kind, caring and considerate to both the child and parents and really listened and got to know our son and his quirks.
They keep you updated with so much information throughout the day while still taking such good care of our little boy, so reassuring!

My daughter has been at Kindred Odstock since she was 18 months old - she's now just over 3.
She absolutely loves the setting and the key workers are fantastic with her. She started off doing 1 day a week, now she is there 3 days. She would go 5 days a week, quite happily if we could afford it.
She
is a fussy eater at home but they encourage all children to try everything, now my daughter eats everything, thanks to nursery!
The outdoor space is brilliant and she loves all her friends, some of whom we meet outside the nursery setting (pre-Covid).
Thanks to everything that the nursery do for my daughter, I'm far less anxiety-ridden.
Happy mum, happy child - or in my case, the other way round.

My son loves nursery. I'm really pleased I made this choice. He's always happy and eats all the food which sounds lovely. This nursery has a great outdoor space which the staff frequently change, making fun new areas. The staff are always smiley and welcoming. It's odd not being able to go in but he's
never even looked back. I can work with peace of mind that my boy is loving his time there.

Our son loves attending preschool and we are so grateful for the care, gentle encouragement and empathy shown to him by the excellent kindred Odstock staff.
The freedom, choice and autonomy offered to the children at Odstock is exceptional. We are sure that the confidence and self-esteem shown by
our son at home is in no small part down to the creative play that he has engaged in at preschool, along with the lovely relationships that he has made with children and staff.
We highly recommend Kindred Odstock.

My son absolutely loves Kindred nursery. He settled quickly and has made a strong relationship with staff and children. The play opportunities have really helped him develop and the communication between nursery and home is absolutely fantastic. Regular updates and photos mean that I learn so much about
what he is up to and links with the EYFS curriculum are clear and informative. We couldn’t be happier with Kindred Nursery and want to thank all the staff for their amazing efforts. The food is better than we eat.

Great nursery with super staff. My child has attended regularly for two years and always has a thoroughly good time at the nursery. The staff are exceptional and have coped admirably with the COVID situation. The new App is excellent and gives plenty of information about what our child has been up to
and what he has eaten.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 11 months old, she settled in brilliantly due to the care and attention the staff gave her and still loves going now. They have always shown compassion and worked around her needs, nothing is too much trouble for them.
Having a child with allergies
is a worry for any parent but they have handled this extremely well and have all the correct procedures in place.
I would highly recommend this nursery.

Both of my children attended Kindred Odstock from 2014 to the current day. They have received exceptional care during their time with the team. The nursery space inside and out is welcoming and stimulating. The ethos of the nursery is inclusive and gentle, with an emphasis on natural play using collected
and everyday items to encourage children to use their imagination and challenge themselves spatially. The nursery was both a great place for a young baby to explore friendships and the world around them, and later a thoughtful and sympathetic preparation for school. During this time, we as parents were regularly kept informed and included in nursery developments and the relationship was very supportive. The team have coped admirably during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the changes made have been carefully implemented with minimal impact on the children's experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery and the fantastic team who make it what it is.

My daughter adored nursery, right from the first settle session to the day she graduated. It was an amazing environment for her to grow, develop, find herself and flourish! She made friends for life, learned and developed vital skills from sensory to health and self-care she uses every day and the bond

Our daughter has been attending Odstock day nursery since September 2018 and there would be no other provision I would want her to attend. It is a home from home - her Odstock family have seen her grow from baby room to pre-school and without a doubt, she is even more amazing because she has been supported
to flourish and thrive in the care of the superstars who work here. The relationship key workers have not only achieved with our daughter, but us as parents and they are one of a kind and I have always felt so comfortable and trusting in their approaches to development and compassionate, respectful care rituals. Our daughter absolutely adores this place, as do we - she is stimulated attuned to her own development and needs, emotionally supported, entirely adored by the staff and admittedly, she isn’t this awesome just because of her parents. If you want your child to be entirely valued for their individuality, form secure attachments, be adored and thrive - then Odstock is your place.

Odstock Day Nursery and the team are the most enthusiastic, motivated, child-centred, sensitive team in child care I know. My son and daughter have both been at Odstock since they were 6 months old and they were like family, welcomed every day with open arms. They were approachable at any time for any
issues that arose in or out of nursery and went above and beyond to help my son adjust to have a new sister by coming to our home and helping us put tow their strategies. My son seemed to be allergic to the world in his first year and the chef worked incredibly hard to make sure he was given a nutritional meal. I cried when I left as this was a group of people that held our hand through the new journey of parenthood and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Both of my children attended Odstock Nursery from 9 months until their time to attend primary school and they loved every moment. The relationships that the staff build with all the children, not just those assigned as key workers is remarkable. What drew me and kept us over anything else is the respectful
learning ethos which is embedded throughout every aspect of the nursery and the staff genuinely share the same beliefs. From the calm approach to learning through play for the children and the innovation and holistic training opportunities for the staff to the nutritious and locally sourced, seasonal menu, Odstock is truly outstanding in their field. Our time at Odstock was cut short due to COVID and my youngest starting school in September but that didn’t stop 2 key workers contacting me to see how he got on. I am so grateful for the time that both boys spent at nursery, for the staff’s care and attention and the friends for life that both the boys and I have made.

This is a fantastic nursery with great staff and a great onsite chef. The staff are imaginative, insightful and caring and leadership is strong.
Their approach since reopening in June after lockdown has been superb and the faces of the children as they wait to go in the morning is the best testament
to that. I haven’t had a moment of worry since my daughter has returned. My daughter joined this nursery as a ‘non-eater’ and the gentle, encouraging, accommodating steps they took to support me to help her on this journey will always stay with me.

Jessica Angell

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

I started working with children in 2003 where I began my training for my level 2 and 3. My journey at Odstock began in 2014 when we first opened. I worked alongside the then manager to set up and develop the nursery and with the embedding of our ethos and practice, which we are still so passionate about today.
I began as the baby room leader and then I stepped up into the position of Deputy Manager to cover maternity leave. I maintained that position and have since been promoted to Nursery Manager.
I feel really passionate about respectful care in young children and strive to create strong relationships between adults and children. In March 2019 I got the chance to visit Budapest where I took part in a week’s course to understand more about respectful care and how important freedom of movement and relationships are for young children to develop and to feel safe and secure within their environment.

My career in childcare started in 2018 when I was an apprentice working towards my Level 3 in Childcare. After completing this qualification, I wanted to try a new and bigger setting, so I moved to a nursery and had the opportunity to step into the deputy manager and SENCO role to cover maternity leave. During this time, I studied for my Level 4 and Level 5 Foundation degree.


My journey at Kindred Odstock started in February 2025, where I became the deputy manager and SENCO.


I am dedicated at supporting children to achieve their full potential. I champion SEN and want to ensure that both children and parents receive the correct outside support.
