Kindred Odstock nursery is a warm and welcoming environment where the staff are passionate about the mission to create inspiring worlds full of awe and wonder for little ones to grow and thrive in. By creating days filled with unique moments and opportunities, Kindred are able to truly enrich a child’s development during 0-5 years.

Not only that but Kindred also personally understand what it is to be a parent during this magical time and create meaningful relationships with every parent. Parents will never miss an opportunity to share in the joy of every child’s developmental and learning moments.

Kindred Odstock is nestled in the village of Odstock in Salisbury. The nursery offers exceptional childcare and early years education to children aged from 3 months up to 5 years and is are open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm (with session times to suit your needs). The nursery has an impressive large outdoor space and innovative indoor environments.

They are passionate about loose parts play and follow a Reggio-inspired approach to learning and development. The staff have immense respect for the children and work hard to captivate and ignite their interests.

I cannot praise the Kindred Odstock team enough. I was very nervous about putting our daughter into preschool and they went above and beyond to help settle her into preschool as well as make me feel at ease about the process. Our daughter goes in happily every day and leaves each day full of stories
about all they have done with a big smile on her face. I would highly recommend Kindred Odstock to all parents, it’s a home-from-home.

What an absolute delight all the staff are. We love this nursery. Always made to feel welcome. I don’t think we could have found such a perfect match for us and our child. As soon as we viewed the place, we felt right at home and knew it was the perfect, nurturing environment for us. Not a single fault
to be had, just the highest of standards. My child has thrived here, loves all the staff and talks about them and her friends all the time. Thank you all for your outstanding work.

Our son attended previously and after a short break, we are now coming back, this time his sister will be attending too. The staff have been incredibly accommodating, helpful and as usual friendly and kind. He has blossomed during his time here with the most incredible activities focused on an enormous
range of learning both indoors and outdoors, hands-on exploring, creating and development. He has come on leaps and bounds in so many areas, we can't wait to watch both him and his sister settle in for lots more learning and exploring.

I’m sure I speak for all parents when I say nursery was always a daunting moment, knowing your child would be under the care of others without you there but all of that worry immediately went away for me when my daughter started kindred, I can honestly say I see them all as family! The love and care

Beautiful setting with amazing staff who care about the children and their needs. Children look up to their teachers and our child always talks about them and what they did during the day. Food is delicious as my child always says it is and eats everything. They also have a great Special Educational
Needs Coordinator who is really knowledgeable and supports all children who have special needs. We have a great relationship with our child's teacher - they always listen and support us. Staff are always very positive. Communication is great too and there is a weekly letter which summarises all activities during the week with pictures too.

My son has been attending Kindred Odstock since he was 11 months old and I cannot fault it. The staff are extremely friendly and approachable. He has formed such a lovely relationship with his key worker and she will always update us on his day, whether he is not quite himself or just has a funny story
about his day.
He loves all the home-cooked lunches and will often have two helpings. The nursery has a respectful approach towards children's learning and encourages problem-solving through loose parts play.
We are extremely happy with our choice to send our son to Kindred Odstock.

A wonderfully nurturing, creative and inspiring environment for little ones. The staff have a fantastic bond with the children and the food always sounds so delicious, that I’m actually sometimes a bit jealous of what my son has for lunch! There is also a really good level of communication and updates

I couldn't recommend Kindred Odstock nursery enough. My daughter has been attending for just under a year and thoroughly enjoys it. All the staff are so welcoming and treat the children with such respect, asking before wiping their nose, giving them choices and allowing them to develop their own interests.
The outdoor space is great and the staff encourage children to do lots of outdoor play and exploration. The communication between staff and parent is also fantastic. There is an app that is updated with info such as time and length of naps, what and how much food etc as well as messages and photos of how the children's day is going. In addition, at pick up time the key worker will spend time telling you about the children's day, any concerns etc, and I have never felt rushed to leave. Whilst it is slightly more expensive than other nurseries I truly believe it is value for money.

We are so pleased and extremely lucky that both our children have (1 still attends) attended this amazing nursery. We have 4 years experience. The staff are so friendly and supportive and go that extra mile to ensure the children’s and parents needs are catered for. The indoor and outdoor spaces are
such a great environment for learning and creative imaginary play.
The communication is great via the parent app which works really well. I love seeing photos too!

I have 2 children at Kindred Odstock Day Nursery and Pre-School aged 1 and 3. I could not recommend this nursery enough! My little boy started here in May 2021, I was really nervous about how long it would take him to settle and was so surprised that he settled straight away and this is thanks to the amazing, caring and nurturing staff at Kindred Odstock! I can not thank them enough for how they have helped my son settle
into nursery life and for how well they have communicated with us, reassuring us that he has settled ok after drop-offs. They have a great app that allows for excellent communication between us and them throughout the day. The outside space is amazing and my son loves being outside so this was a real selling point for us when the manager showed us around, who was also very welcoming, accommodating of our needs and full of knowledge! We are over the moon with our decision to send our son to Kindred Odstock and love how chatty he is when we pick him up! Cannot recommend highly enough! Amazing nursery and amazing staff throughout!

I cannot fault the nursery in any way. All the staff have the most caring nature towards the children and clearly have all the children’s best interests at heart. My daughter was settled from her very first session and this is all down to the friendly and welcoming staff. The resources are brilliant
both inside and out and my daughter can’t wait to tell me what she’s done when she gets home!

My youngest child was born a few months before lockdown and started in the baby room at 10 months. Very different not being able to go in like with my previous children but quickly got used to new routine and staff have gone above and beyond to a) keep the children safe b) maintain a fun environment
which allows the children to thrive. As a keyworker at a local hospital the second wave has been very stressful with unprecedented work pressures requiring me to increase my hours. The nursery manager's support and flexibility has enabled me to focus on my job in the knowledge that my daughter is cared for, happy and safe. My daughter's key worker is always available to talk to at pick up and their bond is natural and evident. Within a couple of weeks, she had totally sussed my daughter out and I can tell from the way my 17 month old totters in without looking back how happy she is there. I feel very lucky that I have access to such a fantastic nursery.

Our son adores his days at Kindred Odstock Day Nursery and Pre-school. He is always excited to go and at pick up he is smiling, having had lots of fun and learnt a lot. The staff are incredibly caring, supportive and go that extra mile to ensure each individual child’s needs are catered for. They keep
you up to date on the app so you know how your child is getting on and also provide a weekly summary assessment of their development. They’ve also been very flexible throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, taking into consideration each family’s situation. I cannot fault them and would happily recommend them as a childcare establishment to my family, friends and colleagues.

My little boy has been going to Odstock nursery since September. He was due to start in March but due to the pandemic this was unfortunately delayed. The nursery were so understanding and despite the restrictions when my little boy was finally able to start, they spent such time and care settling him
in and now he absolutely loves it!
We’re updated throughout the day and receive a write-up and photos every week with what activities our little boy has been up to, what friends he’s played with and what he’s learnt. His brilliant key-worker also gives us ideas we can encourage him with at home to help with his development.
The food is varied and healthy and although to start with our little boy didn’t eat very much (I think because everything was new and a bit scary) he eats lots now and it’s unusual if he doesn’t have more than his normal portion!
The staff have always been so positive and friendly and I’m worry-free at work knowing he’s being looked after so well.

Both of our boys have attended Kindred Odstock so we have five years of experience of the nursery and staff there. I can not imagine a more supportive and stimulating environment for children. The staff there are exceptional in their commitment and care for the children that they look after and each
child is treated as an individual. The children have wonderful opportunities for creative and imaginative play, for stimulating learning, for independent tasks and for building relationships. We have always been very happy with the nursery and found they communicated well.

My daughter started at Kindred in February 2020 in the baby room, then the pandemic happened, so unfortunately she then had a 5 month break away. I was so dubious about her starting back again in September after the big break, but honestly I don’t know why I was worried. The staff were empathetic and
made sure she was happy through out the day. When I picked her up I could clearly see she’d had an amazing time. The staff really do care about the children and their parents; I always feel I’m kept up to date with what she’s been up to through out the day and I love the updates on the parent app.
I feel the nursery is always clean and is a very welcoming environment and I love the fact they use natural objects rather than plastic toys, which encourages the children’s imagination and open ended play.
The garden area is amazing, with so much space for the children to run, climb and explore.
I couldn’t be happier with the nursery and would definitely recommend to any of my friends.

Jessica Angell

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

I started working with children in 2003 where I began my training for my level 2 and 3. My journey at Odstock began in 2014 when we first opened. I worked alongside the then manager to set up and develop the nursery and with the embedding of our ethos and practice, which we are still so passionate about today.
I began as the baby room leader and then I stepped up into the position of Deputy Manager to cover maternity leave. I maintained that position and have since been promoted to Nursery Manager.
I feel really passionate about respectful care in young children and strive to create strong relationships between adults and children. In March 2019 I got the chance to visit Budapest where I took part in a week’s course to understand more about respectful care and how important freedom of movement and relationships are for young children to develop and to feel safe and secure within their environment.

My career in childcare started in 2018 when I was an apprentice working towards my Level 3 in Childcare. After completing this qualification, I wanted to try a new and bigger setting, so I moved to a nursery and had the opportunity to step into the deputy manager and SENCO role to cover maternity leave. During this time, I studied for my Level 4 and Level 5 Foundation degree.


My journey at Kindred Odstock started in February 2025, where I became the deputy manager and SENCO.


I am dedicated at supporting children to achieve their full potential. I champion SEN and want to ensure that both children and parents receive the correct outside support.
