Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Tadcaster Road

We relocated to York and didn't have much time to find a nursery thankfully Green Rascals were able to accommodate and I am so pleased there was a space my daughter has loved going and I love all of the external providers they get in to keep them busy football classes, activity sessions, science classes and French just to name a few. Staff are so friendly and lovely with my daughter I can't thank them enough!

Choosing to send our daughter to Little Green Rascals on Tadcaster Road was definitely one of the best decisions we made.

She's now in her final year, so we've experienced the different classes and met so many of the lovely staff along the way. Throughout it all, it's been such a positive experience for our daughter. She's had so many fun days, learned lots, met some wonderful key workers, and made some really special friendships.

We're really grateful to the whole team for creating such a caring and supportive environment for our daughter.

A warm and caring setting. The staff are well trained and lovely. The range of activities are fun and educational. Great variety of food throughout the week. My little boy loves it and is really happy there.

The staff at LGR Tadcaster Road have been amazing. Our son adjusted very fast and they have been absolutely amazing with him from the start. Molly, Alexandra and Evie have been brilliant with our little boy and in keeping us updated on how he is adjusting and what he is doing during the day.

We have recently moved to York as a family, and we have a 16 month old daughter. Obviously, with such a move, as parents we were very worried about unsettling our daughter, and taking her away from a great nursery that she was already settled. The staff at little free rascals put our minds at ease immediately, and made the transition seamless and hassle free. The care provided to our daughter is first class, and the key practitioner takes a real interest in her development and happiness. The updates are provided through an app and are delivered at regular intervals. The safeguarding is excellent, and we couldn't feel happier with our choice of nursery.

Both my children (age 2 and 4) have an excellent standard of care and education at LGR Tadcaster. The staff are excellent, the activities and opportunities are outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend.

My daughter has been at Tadcaster Road LGR now for two years and we've had a great experience throughout. The staff are fantastic with the children, they are so warm and welcoming each morning and she absolutely loves going into nursery, even after the Christmas break. The facilities are great and she really enjoys the large outdoor space. There's also such a wide variety of activities available to the children. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to anyone.

Our daughter recently moved from another LGR to Tadcaster Road due to it being closer to our new home. She has settled in better than I could have ever imagined, she has made great friends & always so excited to go to nursery! The staff are wonderful & always providing new activities for the children to keep them engaged. The garden play area is huge & they seem to have lots of outdoor time. Couldn't recommend them more! We are so pleased with our decision to move to LGR Tadcaster Road!

Nick in the car park and Karen on the front desk make every day that bit easier. Exactly what I need as a busy, often stressed, parent! A truly nurturing, inspiring place - thank you, LGR!

The teachers can get extra support though - from cleaners for example. So the teachers can focus on the kids and teaching.

The communication with parents during the day is also good :)

My daughter is currently in the preschool room and has attended the nursery since birth. The care she has received from the staff has been exceptional throughout the nursery. She is currently being supported by the SENDCo too, who has kept us informed each step of the way and the team who work on her outcomes at nursery have shared her progress on a regular basis. The food is excellent and her dietary requirements are catered for well. The parent 'grab and go' breakfast is a welcome addition to the morning and the nursery definitely goes that extra mile. My daughter goes happily into nursery with a smile each day.

All staff members are brilliant. We love forest school

LGR has been a really positive place for my oldest daughter to go. It's not just childcare, but a space to grow and learn. The staff are extremely patient and caring towards the children and really help to make every day count in terms of learning and experiences. Their forest school has been a particular favourite to my homebody daughter, it's really increased her confidence and assisted in her learning and becoming ready for school. My youngest daughter will be starting LGR soon and i am excited to see how LGR enhances her learning journey too.

Overall I highly recommend the nursery.

My daughter moved to Little Green Rascals in January 2025, and the staff have been brilliant from the moment we inquired about availability, to settling in sessions, and to her transition to the pre school room. She became confident and made friends very quickly, thanks to their careful support. She's just had her first parents evening and I couldn't praise her key worker more for her understanding and care of my daughter. She's already very well prepared for starting school and loves going to nursery to do phonics, forest school, yoga and play. What a fab nursery this is.

My daughter started just before she turned 1 in April 2024. They were brilliant at getting her settled and taking the time to make both her and myself comfortable with the transition. My daughter bonded with the staff and I really love the updates we get throughout the day. Pick up and drop off are brilliant because you get to go into the room and collect her and so you get to see her with all of her little friends and see the staff interacting with the kids. Finally, the development I've seen in my child has been precious, they do so many educational activities and I feel like they have a real love for her and get to know her little quirks.

I would recommend this nursery without a doubt. Very slight downside is the limited parking and gets very busy at peak times - but the parking attendant is brillant. I only drive when it is less busy as the car park is quite tight and it's preferable to reverse park!

Little green rascals Tadcaster Road is such a wonderful nursery, both of my children have thrived in this fantastic nursery thanks to the amazing staff that work there. I can't say anything bad about it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a childcare option in this area of York.
