We are extremely happy with Little Green Rascals. My little girl has been there since she was 12 months, she's now 3 years old and in the Busy Bumble Bee's room. The nursery offers her so many opportunities to play and learn getting lots of outdoor time. She is currently enjoying Forest school yoga
and Ballet lessons, but there are even more options to choose from such as French, Spanish, Rugby etc. My daughter's key person knows her inside out and she has documented a fantastic record of her development and learning plan. There is always a clear topic for the week 1 month etc with lots of fun activities based around this. For example Chinese New Year, the weather etc. The nursery has always been very focused on treating my daughter as an individual especially when it comes to room transitions and selecting her key person. The food is brilliant, all freshly prepared, organic meals with lots of variety. Overall we thoroughly recommend Little Green Rascals and we are happy to have both our children at the nursery.

My little boy has been at Little Green Rascals for 4 months now and he absolutely loves it! He is in wiggly worms! The baby room is fantastic - a real home from home. The wiggly worms team totally understand what it feels like for you to leave your baby in a new environment and really tailor the settling in period to your baby. My little boy has a rare medical condition and the whole team has undertaken training with a local medical professional to understand this better and look after him. His key person has been especially proactive in learning about this and monitoring his progress. His key person is always keen to find out what he has been up to at home and vice versa, what he has been up to at nursery! He has a broad range of fun learning experiences and has come on leaps and bounds since joining. We are very pleased and highly recommend Little Green Rascals.

Little Green Rascals is an outstanding nursery. The staff in particular, are warm and friendly and have gone the extra mile to ensure our children are happy and settled at nursery. The opportunities available are also fantastic and we believe our child's development is regarded as a top priority.

During the month of January my daughter's key worker has worked tirelessly on building her self-confidence. Once a timid shy 3-year-old in the nursery setting is no longer. My daughter has been promoted by her key worker to find her voice and she can now be seen talking more openly and freely to staff
and other children.

I've been very impressed with all aspects of the nursery since our son started 2 months ago. All the staff I've met have been lovely, friendly and really good with the children. He gets a varied range of activities whilst he's at nursery which is great. Any potential issues e.g rashes, reaction have
been spotted and brought to our attention with possible solutions offered. The keyworker is lovely and seems to bond well with our son.

Brilliant!!. My daughter has started in the baby room at 10 months. Our minds were put at ease due to how friendly and professional the staff have been. They have been so welcoming, my daughter has settled well and feels secure and happy in her new environment. On the first day I received a "mummy bag"
which contained treats to cheer me up on what was a difficult day leaving my daughter for the first time, these extra touches really make a difference.

Little Green Rascals is an excellent nursery; the building and gardens are perfect for little ones, with every age (0-4) catered for. My little one is always delighted to arrive at nursery, and they always provide a variety of activities to entertain and stimulate development. The level of communication
we receive from the nursery is outstanding; especially from her key worker. I would definitely recommend LGR to anyone looking for a happy and caring environment for their child!

We love everything about Little Green Rascals. From the friendly and warm care workers, the helpful and involved management to the organic food, the opportunity to do forest school, the focus on creative play, the way they help the little ones develop. I have two children in the nursery and they are
both so happy there. We wish Little Green Rascals did Primary and Secondary schools because we'd be sending our kids there too!

My daughter loves being a 'Little Rascal'. The staff have been fabulous and so supportive. My little rascal runs into their arms and happily waves goodbye as I head off to work, it is so good to not have the dreaded parent guilt.
She gets involved in lots of fabulous activities, loves to get messy
and has a great enjoyment of the outdoor area. There is so much on offer to the children, it is such a great environment. We definitely recommend it to all.

This is a fantastic nursery which I would recommend to anyone considering childcare. My daughter was extremely attached to me and it was very difficult to leave her with anyone (it always involved a lot of tears). The care and attention she has had since she started about 8 months ago has been brilliant.
Settling in took a bit of time but the staff were great and really took time to get to know her. The staff are all fantastic and really care for the children. The daily updates are great and I think you know you've chosen the right place when the staff say things like "she just needed a few extra cuddles today" and when your child wants to be handed over to their key person in the morning. My daughter recently moved rooms and as she becomes very attached to individuals they were extremely mindful of the transition period - ensuring it was tailored for her (they did it gradually over a longer period of time letting her get used to new staff). The food is also fantastic (I just wish I could buy meals from there!). I have already recommended LGR to a number of friends looking at childcare options.

We are very happy with the Nursery. My daughter takes part in many fun activities; she is in the baby room and does things I wouldn't have thought of doing with her at her age e.g. painting.
I'm particularly happy that there is a garden and lots of outside space.
The food is also really good quality;
I know she is eating a varied diet there.
The staff in the baby room are very friendly and helpful.

My daughter absolutely loves attending Little Green Rascals. I have no problem leaving her in the morning as the team are fantastic and I know she'll be so well looked after. I pick her up with a big smile on her face in the afternoon and she's babbling away - probably trying to tell me all the fun
things she's done! I love reading about what she has been doing during the day and having a chat with her key worker when I pick her up. Thanks to all of you for making my return to work so much easier!

Little Green Rascals is an amazing nursery, our little girl absolutely loves it, she has been going to the nursery since she was 10 months and is now fast approaching 2. The team at Little Green Rascals have helped her development significantly, from walking to talking. We have complete peace of mind
leaving her at nursery and can't recommend it highly enough.

Our baby boy joined Wiggly Worms in September and we have been very impressed with everything about Little Green Rascals. We were invited in for a thorough pre meeting where we met staff and asked questions, safeguarding was high on the agenda which reassured us greatly. We were invited in on a Saturday
to a special picnic where we could meet other parents and children could play together I was given a song book to sing songs at home that they sing at nursery. There is a weekly email for parents with nursery and community events coming up including Forest School days. We love his Key Worker, he is happy to see her every week. The comments she writes in his progress book help us too - especially when it comes to weaning; we didn't know he loved Oranges! The food always looks fab and the organic promise is taken seriously. Parents are encouraged to carry on the organic ethos at home by using organic veg box suppliers but it's not pushy. Our baby loves playing the black and white corner and snoozing in the sleep room. At first I thought parking might be an issue but it is fine - other parents are polite and I think having the parking attendant out in the car park on a morning is helpful. We have already recommended the nursery to our friends. Compared to other nurseries we look around Little Green Rascals was clean and professional.

My little girl started at the nursery last month and is loving it. She settled in right away. She has a diary which is filled out everyday so that we can read about what she has been up to. Every week there are new activities for her to get involved in. The staff all recognised us when we turned up
from the start (which is quite impressive as she only attends two afternoons a week) and are all really caring and professional. The food menu is great and recipes are forwarded to us so we can try them out at home. I was apprehensive at the thought of leaving her at nursery when I went back to work but I have full confidence and couldn't be happier with LGR.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.902) out of 10 for Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Tadcaster Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.921 for Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Tadcaster Road is calculated as follows: ( (233 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 252 Ratings = 4.921
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.981 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Tadcaster Road is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 107 number of registered child places is 21.4. 21 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.4 = 0.981
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
