Hydesville Tower School's Nursery in Walsall offers a happy and nurturing environment in which to prepare your child for life in school.

The nursery is staffed by a highly experienced, expert team who support the children's learning and holistic development.

All children can enjoy the benefits that being part of an independent school brings. These benefits include: dancing, P.E, French and the provision of extra-curricular activities including: ICT, modern dance, art club.

The School's proven approach in Nursery is to deliver a careful balance of structured learning and child-initiated free play, where young ones can learn with enjoyment and challenge. This is a wonderful nursery. I am really pleased with the progress my daughter has made since she started a year ago. All staff are amazing and my daughter has a great relationship with them. I do not hesitate in recommending this nursery.

My son has been at the nursery since September 2022. I have nothing but praise for all the staff. He has learnt so much in such a small amount of time and is always excited to attend. The class sizes are small therefore all the children get a lot of individual attention. The staff have a lot of knowledge
of my Son interests, likes and dislikes. I would highly recommend Hydesville Tower School.

Absolutely outstanding nursery my son started Hydesville Tower School in September 2021 and will be starting pre-prep this coming September.
He’s come on in leaps and bounds since being at Hydesville! Hydesville gives your children the most amazing foundation to start their school life.
My son loves
his brilliant teacher and all of his friends to the point he asks me if he can go to nursery over the weekend!
It’s the best decision we made!

Well, what can I say, what an amazing nursery and school, my daughter simply can’t wait to go to nursery in the morning. Hydesville has made her so confident and outgoing. The level she is at already at the age of 3 years old is exceptional, and this is mainly down to the excellent staff at Hydesville.
Every member of staff know all the pupils by name and it has a very welcoming family feel. We are so glad, we chose Hydesville for our daughter's education.

Hydesville Tower School Nursery is quite simply the best nursery. I cannot rate it highly enough. My eldest son attended from 2018 and has continued to progress through the school, a decision we made after seeing the exemplary education and care he received at the very earliest experience of his formal
education. He left for Reception with such a solid foundation of learning far exceeding that of his peers, this is credited to the nurturing staff- they truly care for each and every child. My youngest son is within the nursery setting now and I wouldn't have chosen a different provider for him, the staff cater to each child's individual needs. The introduction of the parents' app has been wonderful - giving parents daily picture/video updates of the children's activities, added to this is the use of another app where homework can be uploaded and feedback is given - a seamless progression into Reception. The new outdoor classroom has been carefully planned with Early Years as the focus. Thank you, Hydesville!

My son joined nursery at Hydesville Tower School in January 2021 and it’s the best decision we ever made, his previous nursery was good but we always had issues with him wanting to go in; not anymore! His confidence is booming and he is so happy to go in every day, the range of topics covered and the
communication between school and home is faultless. The school were flexible with us when he joined as we had concerns about full-time but we shouldn’t have been, within 3 weeks he wanted to be there every day of the week. My son has made some fantastic friends who I’m sure will be friends for life, any concerns we have had have been addressed by the head of nursery who is absolutely incredible with both the children and parents. My son even told her this week that he loved her!
The best choice of nursery in the area if you want your child to have the best start in life.

Both of my children have attended Hydesville Tower School. If you are looking for a nurturing and supportive nursery, Hydesville Tower School exceeds this very well. Hydesville Tower School was the first nursery my son attended, starting on a part time basis and progressing to full time after one week.
From being a shy little boy he is now full of confidence. As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring to know your child is in a happy, safe and wonderful environment, which Hydesville Tower School has proven to be. The head of nursery and all the Early Years staff provide so much care, attention and positivity. The level of academic learning and child-initiated play is second to none. I feel this nursery speaks for itself when your child bounces out at the end of the day, saying they have had a fantastic day!

My daughter started Hydesville in September 2020. She was at another nursery previously since she was 10 months old, which I thought was good, but this nursery has made me realise what excellent nursery provision is. Her confidence, the structure, the fun... my daughter loves it. The Friday forestry
school, ballet Tuesdays, dance Thursdays - it’s fantastic, with structured teaching too. Staff are incredible teachers, and my daughter is lucky to be in her class.

My child has grown so much since starting here and has become such an independent and confident boy. He loves coming to nursery every day. I love seeing all the activities he does on the parents' app - such a varied timetable, from dancing to forestry school. They give homework every Friday which is
brilliant as I can work with him at home. Parent consultations are brilliant as I get information on his progress regularly. All the staff are very welcoming and bring the best out of my child. I can’t thank the nursery staff enough as they go above and beyond to support my child and make nursery fun. This is an excellent nursery and I would not hesitate to recommend this to everyone.

My daughter started her nursery journey at another establishment and for many months remained very shy and quiet. Since starting at Hydesville Nursery, she’s really come out of her shell and her confidence has skyrocketed. I’m so impressed with how the nursery team have inspired her willingness to learn.
The nursery has also really impressed with the diversity and variety of curriculum they offer. From learning about Navraatri to feeding the ducks and petting visiting animals - my daughter has experienced a wide range of activities, second to none. The nursery has really exceeded my expectations and I’m confident my daughter will get the best possible pre-school experience possible.

My older son started nursery in 2015 and is currently in Upper Prep. From the moment he started to this day the staff at Hydesville Tower School have been excellent. My older son was very shy, therefore, choosing the right school was imperative. We looked at various independent schools, some with very
impressive facilities. However, it was Hydesville Tower School which as a family we gravitated towards. The warmth that was shown to us, pastoral care and the small setting for class sizes, was exactly what we were looking for as a family. The emphasis also given on the child’s mental wellbeing was also something we wanted. I was given some advice which still rings true to this day “don’t make your child fit into a school, let the school fit around your child”. Therefore, when it came to selecting a school for my younger son, who currently is in nursery, we knew this was the perfect choice. Again, the nursery staff have worked closely with us as a family settling my younger son into a good routine where I can see he is thriving.

My little boy spent almost 2 years in the nursery and I can honestly say that I could not imagine a better place for him than Hydesville Tower School nursery. The head of the nursery and her team work closely with the parents and provide excellent services. My little boy was always happy and excited
to go back the next day. He loved the forest school activity and the trips and he was enjoying playing with his little friends. The class was small and the teachers were able to spend enough time with each child individually and in a group. He grew in confidence in his writing and reading and he was well prepared for Reception.

Hydesville Tower has been a really great start for my son, who started Nursery in September 2018. It was a big step for my son as he had never attended any nurseries prior to Hydesville due to his health. After major bowel surgery in July 2018, we were nervous about such a big change in his life.
I
found all the Nursery staff to be extremely kind, considerate and well informed. They really helped to bridge the transition of separation, into a new environment. He thoroughly enjoys his time there, and I think as a parent, we all want to be kept well informed about how our child is doing. The school has a good balance of learning while play, and the structured day has a positive effect on my son's routine. The information flow between parent and school is good too, I can actually see what he's been doing in the week through the newsletters. Really have been most impressed with Hydesville Tower and my son's progress so far!

Our son started nursery just after his fourth birthday and within a week we agreed to a full-time place, he settled in so well!


I can honestly say he loves his class, he has made lots of friends and the other parents are so welcoming. It really is like a little family!


The whole environment is

full of things for the children to explore, lots for them to do, it’s clear to see why they are all so happy and confident.


Our son particularly enjoys the fantastic outdoor space, the forest school and staying after school hours for his tea!


For us, as parents, the most important thing is the confidence and trust we have, that when he is at nursery he is extremely well looked after and cared for by the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they know each child as an individual.

We can’t thank them enough for giving our son the best start to his education and instilling a love for learning from an early age.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 1987

I first came to Hydesville Tower School in January 1987 and from a very young age I knew that my true profession would be caring for young children and watching them grow into well-grounded little individuals.
I truly believe that Hydesville is a real part of my family and a wonderful place to be. It has always been an aim of mine to create a lifelong lasting impression on the individual child’s learning and development. I feel that it is imperative that all children can access high-quality education and a broad balanced curriculum, which is conducive to promoting powerful and active little learners.


We actively promote routine within the daily programme, balanced with adult guided structured learning and a recognition of an accurate account of what a child can do is at the heart of our personalised learning models during child-initiated activities.


I really enjoy leading a team of dedicated, hardworking Early Years’ practitioners, who bring a wealth of experience and a robust understanding of the Early Years’ Foundation Stage Curriculum. This not only supports our youngest children to learn effectively but gives me confidence that our children’s needs are put first and we facilitate a high level of quality with tireless commitment.

My name is Laura Willis and my role is that of Deputy Head within the Nursery setting.


I have been employed at Hydesville Tower School Nursery for 15 years, starting in 2005. I have developed not only on my own learning journey but that of students past and present. In 2012 I obtained my Early Years Foundation Degree and progressed my career.


When engaging with the children I enjoy creating and nurturing ideas they have, allowing them to develop their own ideas within our friendly, family teaching environment. If required I can seek support from further specialised roles.


I thrive on a stimulating outdoor environment, a rich indoor learning environment where children and grow and flourish as well as being encouraged to play, inspire to learn and support them in nurturing a future.
I aim to give each child a unique and dynamic learning experience whilst guiding them to lay the foundations for their education, personal, social, and emotional development here at Hydesville.


One of the main things I really like about our Hydesville family is the sense of community, with such strong, positive relationships with the children and parents which is underpinned by our superb and effective teamwork, where we all work together to make it a special place for every child to be able to thrive and succeed.


I look forward to welcoming your child into the Nursery and being part of their early learning and development and seeing them grow throughout the years they will be with us.
