Hydesville Tower School's Nursery in Walsall offers a happy and nurturing environment in which to prepare your child for life in school.

The nursery is staffed by a highly experienced, expert team who support the children's learning and holistic development.

All children can enjoy the benefits that being part of an independent school brings. These benefits include: dancing, P.E, French and the provision of extra-curricular activities including: ICT, modern dance, art club.

The School's proven approach in Nursery is to deliver a careful balance of structured learning and child-initiated free play, where young ones can learn with enjoyment and challenge. They provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children to learn through an array of challenging opportunities and age-appropriate fun activities.

This works exceptionally well and enables children to make significantly better than average progress.

We absolutely love Hydesville Tower Nursery! The staff are kind, patient, and genuinely care about every child. My little one has grown so much in confidence and language since starting here. The daily updates and photos make me feel so connected, and it's clear how much thought goes into the activities.
The headteacher of the Nursery is such an amazing lady, she makes a wonderful bonding with children and parents. The environment is clean, safe, and full of fun learning opportunities. I can't recommend this nursery enough!

Overall our child enjoys going to Hydesville nursery and has nurtured a close relationship with several teachers. There has been a noticeable positive change in our child's confidence and being able to try new things. We look forward to seeing how they can further encourage children to academically

I am so pleased with our experience at Hydesville Tower School. The staff are simply amazing and are supportive of my son's needs. They are very patient and clearly passionate about early childhood development where they do take time out to get to know your child's personality. My son's confidence is
growing particularly in his speech where he is so excited to tell me about his day.
Variety of activities - phonics, sport, dance, crafts, reading corners and imaginative play. But Forest Fridays is the day my son particularly gets excited about as he loves being outdoors.
Being a working mum, the communications I also find valuable. By having regular photos and videos on your personal portal, you can see what they have done in the day. My son's fussiness has eased off with his food and is being more adventurous.
Overall, we couldn't be happier with our choice. This nursery offers a nurturing and safe environment with genuine warmth where children truly thrive in- highly recommend.

Since starting nursery my child has developed their personality so well. They have become more vocal and comfortable communicating with their teachers and everyone at home. Since starting Hydesville my child has also become more independent and engages in independent play and tasks. My child has also
become more comfortable with different foods and can now eat independently. I have seen my child's confidence grow as she walks into nursery independently and can play and enjoy themselves even when I'm not around, this is because I have noticed how comfortable and safe they feel around all their teachers.

Since Aaryan joined the Yellow Group in September, we've seen an incredible transformation in his confidence and communication. He has truly flourished-arriving at nursery full of excitement and leaving with new stories and knowledge each day. With Aaryan's two key-workers we can see that they have
created such a nurturing, stimulating environment that encourages independence and curiosity.
At home, we constantly hear Aaryan talk about his teachers and friends with joy, which reassures us that he feels safe, valued and happy. A special thank you to a particular teacher, who understands Aaryan's personality so well and knows exactly how to motivate him, especially in developing his social and fine motor skills. Her care and dedication have made such a positive difference in his early years.

Our little one has been attending Hydesville Nursery for a year, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff are incredibly caring and create such a warm, nurturing environment where children truly thrive. The learning activities are engaging and perfectly suited to our 3-year-old's curiosity
and development.


Communication is excellent - we always feel informed and involved in our child's day-to-day progress. A special mention to the Headteacher, who is absolutely amazing; her approachable nature and the way she communicates with parents make such a difference.


We feel completely confident knowing our child is in such capable and caring hands. Hydesville Nursery is a wonderful place to start a child's learning journey!

Our son joined the nursery in January 2025, and we have been extremely pleased with his progress and the care he has received. From the very beginning, the staff have been wonderfully attentive, patient, and nurturing, ensuring he settled in comfortably and gained confidence in communicating and participating
in activities.
The teachers create a warm and stimulating environment that encourages learning through play, and it has been a joy to see our son's growing enthusiasm each day. We also value how the nursery actively involves parents in school programs and keeps us engaged in our child's development.
We are deeply grateful to the dedicated team for their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. It gives us great comfort knowing our child is in such capable and compassionate hands. We are 100 % sure bringing him to Hydesville Tower Nursery has been the best decision we made.

Since my child started here last year at the age of 2.5years he has come such a long way! He was barely talking at the time and had social development delays. He now talks soo much and interacts with his friends and teachers much more now.
I have seen a beautiful transition and progression with him
and am so happy with all the teachers and staff at this nursery that have helped him get to where he is today. The teachers and staff are all so lovely and welcoming and he has really bonded with them all. I can't recommend this nursery enough!

I am so incredibly grateful to have found Hydesville Nursery. Just as my daughter started, our family went through one of the hardest times of our lives. I fell seriously ill and spent six months in hospital. While I worried about my health, I never once had to worry about my daughter. The teachers
at Hydesville made sure she was happy, cared for, and reminded every single day that her mummy loves her.I'll never forget the joy in her voice when she told me over the phone, "Mummy, I made you a card with my teachers so you can feel better." It meant the world to me.
The staff at Hydesville don't just come to work, they go above and beyond in everything they do. Their kindness, patience, and genuine love for the children have touched our hearts deeply. They supported my daughter through every milestone, from learning and play to potty training, and they always reassured me with warmth and understanding whenever I had concerns.To the staff members of the nursery, thank you.

I couldn't be happier with our experience at Hydesville. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt welcomed, supported, and confident that our child was in the best hands possible.
One of the teachers has been an amazing first teacher to my son. Her warmth, patience, and genuine care shines
through in everything she does. She creates a nurturing environment where my son has felt safe, valued, and excited to learn. Her communication with us is always thoughtful and reassuring, and it's clear she takes the time to understand each child's unique personality and needs.


Our child has blossomed under her care-growing in confidence, making friends, and developing a real love for learning. The activities are creative and engaging, and the atmosphere is always full of laughter and joy.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found this nursery - it is truly a special place. From the very beginning, we were impressed by the thoughtful, emotionally aware approach to the settling-in process. This is the only school in the area that we found truly understands how emotionally challenging the
start can be, especially for children who are new to English and navigating a completely new environment.
What makes it even more unique is that the staff help children and families go through this transition together, in a way that embraces and honours the full range of emotions - without trying to suppress them. Children are gently guided through their feelings, supported in expressing them safely and openly, which helps them build real trust and emotional resilience from day one.
The teachers are warm, deeply engaged, and full of genuine care for each child. There is no "one size fits all" - every child is seen as unique. We are deeply grateful for this place and really recommend it <3

My daughter started at Hydesville Tower Nursery in January 2025. After a little unsettling start, she now absolutely loves going to nursery. The staff there are genuinely caring and supportive and dedicated to providing a nurturing environment. The head of the nursery is fantastic.
We get daily updates
via the app with photos and videos showing what the children have been learning, all of which are enjoyable to watch.
The nursery's approach to learning through play is particularly impressive.
I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Fantastic nursery! Staff are very attentive and go above and beyond to upload high standards.
Children are engaged and encouraged to learn in a fun environment. The activities and routines are varied and encourage key skills.

Samantha Smith

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 1987

I first came to Hydesville Tower School in January 1987 and from a very young age I knew that my true profession would be caring for young children and watching them grow into well-grounded little individuals.
I truly believe that Hydesville is a real part of my family and a wonderful place to be. It has always been an aim of mine to create a lifelong lasting impression on the individual child’s learning and development. I feel that it is imperative that all children can access high-quality education and a broad balanced curriculum, which is conducive to promoting powerful and active little learners.


We actively promote routine within the daily programme, balanced with adult guided structured learning and a recognition of an accurate account of what a child can do is at the heart of our personalised learning models during child-initiated activities.


I really enjoy leading a team of dedicated, hardworking Early Years’ practitioners, who bring a wealth of experience and a robust understanding of the Early Years’ Foundation Stage Curriculum. This not only supports our youngest children to learn effectively but gives me confidence that our children’s needs are put first and we facilitate a high level of quality with tireless commitment.

Laura Willis

Job Title: Deputy Nursery Head Joined: 2005

My name is Laura Willis and my role is that of Deputy Head within the Nursery setting.


I have been employed at Hydesville Tower School Nursery for 15 years, starting in 2005. I have developed not only on my own learning journey but that of students past and present. In 2012 I obtained my Early Years Foundation Degree and progressed my career.


When engaging with the children I enjoy creating and nurturing ideas they have, allowing them to develop their own ideas within our friendly, family teaching environment. If required I can seek support from further specialised roles.


I thrive on a stimulating outdoor environment, a rich indoor learning environment where children and grow and flourish as well as being encouraged to play, inspire to learn and support them in nurturing a future.
I aim to give each child a unique and dynamic learning experience whilst guiding them to lay the foundations for their education, personal, social, and emotional development here at Hydesville.


One of the main things I really like about our Hydesville family is the sense of community, with such strong, positive relationships with the children and parents which is underpinned by our superb and effective teamwork, where we all work together to make it a special place for every child to be able to thrive and succeed.


I look forward to welcoming your child into the Nursery and being part of their early learning and development and seeing them grow throughout the years they will be with us.
