Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury is a thriving, village based, family owned nursery, that prides itself at being at the heart of this exceptional village community.

In a caring and loving environment, children experience a wide range of learning initiatives, including messy and sensory play, with a strong focus on interacting with the outside world. The approach is to closely respond to children's interests, which has seen the arrival of a full size fork lift truck as part of a construction project, and the teaching of pizza making and basic Italian lessons as part of a multi-cultural project.

The passionate, experienced and caring team provides a safe and loving environment for children aged three months to five years. There are three rooms - under two's, toddlers and preschool. The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year, offering full day and half day sessions (7.30-1 or 1-6.30)

CCTV is installed in all rooms and operate a biometric finger print entry system, ensuring the safety of the children. The nursery offers two home-cooked hot meals each day.

My 15 month old son has been in the baby room at Banana Moon Harbury for 6 months. He is very happy at nursery and has a great time learning through play with the nursery team. The girls who work in the baby room are all caring, friendly and helpful. My little boy is really happy to see them every morning.
The
app is especially useful as I can see what he has eaten, naps and any other activities.
The management of the nursery is also very organised. The menus are good and varied.
Excellent nursery supported by a family feel.

My child and I love Banana Moon. He's learnt a lot since starting in November 2021. I think the lunch choices are a bit out there for 2-year-olds sometimes but that's just me. For example, the Caribbean vegetable curry but my child is fussy so that's not on them. The staff in my child's room are amazing
and I can't fault any of them. I love several in particular. They are fantastic with him and always tell me how he's got on which I really appreciate. The managers are wonderful too and are always there to answer any questions I might have. Thank you, ladies.

We play a role in encouraging children to try lots of different food - providing a balanced nutritious diet whilst also introducing different textures, colours and cuisines from a variety of cultures but we are also conscious that the children do need to eat so try to ensure it is appealing! Our cook is on-site every day and we regularly review the menus and take feedback from the children very seriously!

Our little one loves her time at Banana Moon. The girls have been amazing at getting her settled and really encouraging her personality to shine through. She is allowed to be a child and isn’t forced into complicated activities, but is challenged enough to be learning all the skills she needs to keep
progressing. All of the staff have been loving, kind and caring for my daughter as if she was their own. I’d definitely recommend Banana Moon for parents who are looking for their children to have fun and progress at their own rate, whilst being cared for with lots of fun, love and cuddles!

My son has been at Banana Moon Harbury for one year now, joining when he was 9-months-old, the nursery was warm and welcoming from his first day settling in. They have supported his washable nappies and I have always felt that he was seen as an individual. His and our preferences have always been encouraged
and it really feels that the whole team want to work in partnership with parents. The app is fantastic and communication is open and easy. He eats really well and has tried so many different foods and experiences that we may have struggled to achieve at home. It is such a reassurance to know your child is learning and developing in such a happy environment.

This nursery has been brilliant at accommodating my child's needs.
The staff are fantastic and kind and friendly, when you enter the nursery you get a warm homely sensation and feel for the place.
They make sure that the child is looked after and takes part in activities, feels included and is
not left out.
I also like the regular updates and photos that I receive, it's a great way to feel reassured that my child is having fun etc.

Leaving your child with anyone is very daunting especially with people who don't know her. However, my daughter is settling in at Banana Moon could not have been easier.
I feel like all the girls in the baby room have helped her settle in so quick and stress-free.
What also goes above and beyond
is there fantastic app that they update regularly with her feeds, naps and nappy changes.
It really helps me not stress about anything. I feel so safe knowing my child is in good hands.
I cannot thank Banana Moon enough for being so fantastic and helping me get back to work stress free.
My daughter comes home so happy. I really do think she loves it.

We have recently relocated to the area and managed to get a place for both my two children here. We were so apprehensive about having to move our children, but honestly, we needn’t have worried at all. Banana Moon has been OUTSTANDING.
All of the staff are so hardworking and warm, friendly and caring.
The owner has been so accommodating, and communication with parents is fantastic either via email or the app. I’ve really felt listened to as a parent, and they’ve ALL been amazing with the kids! They both absolutely love it there and are thriving. We couldn’t ask for more from the nursery are so pleased we made the move.

Our daughter has been attending Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury since she was twenty months old when we relocated from Dorset. All the staff have been wonderful and really helped settle her in when she first started and then with the transition between rooms. Our daughter is always happy when we pick
her up and loves telling us about all the activities that she has been doing in the day. The staff are great at giving us updates in person and via the app and they have also helped our daughter with her fussy eating. The manager and one other member of staff have been exceptionally helpful and accommodating when we have needed extra or altered childcare arrangements. I would highly recommend Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury as our daughter loves it and we are very happy with every aspect of the nursery.

I love it here and so does my son who is two. He has loved every room he has been in so far. Every week he is learning new things and he is coming along really well thanks to all the staff here. My son started at Banana Moon back in June and despite all of the various restrictions due to COVID, I have been delighted with the care and support he has received at Banana Moon. The staff have made every attempt to ensure parents are kept up to date on their child's development both at drop off and
collection and via the app. The app has been invaluable and I love seeing the updates on what he has done during the day. On the rare occasion he has been a bit unsure at drop off the staff make sure to contact me to let me know he is ok.

Our daughter joined the nursery during the pandemic and they have been brilliant - she settled in super quickly despite not having the usual start which was testimony to how great they are. They are hugely adaptable to all the rules and regulations to keep the children and the staff safe. Always really

My twins joined Banana Moon during lockdown, we had relocated back to the UK from Canada and they were extremely unsettled. Banana Moon was their daily dose of fun and routine. Both my children absolutely loved going to Banana Moon in Harbury. The staff are so friendly and professional. The children have such a good relationship with the staff and they were always engaged. I can’t recommend them enough, especially during these COVID times, they really made the children feel
as though everything was ok. They regularly sent home ideas of how to help with development, recommending activities. They are an excellent nursery and I’m very sad to be leaving here.

Our daughter started at Banana Moon just as lockdown started. They have been so supportive with her settling in and their communication has been great, which helped to alleviate any concerns we may have had.
Our daughter absolutely loves going to Banana Moon Harbury and it really is the highlight of
her week! She often talks happily about the staff there.

The first thing for you to know is that I am a mum to two young children; a daughter, Millie and a son, Ted.
As a parent, having already researched an awful lot of nurseries for my daughter, and found one that I loved (the very first Banana Moon!) I had a firm idea of what I was looking to achieve when I opened my own nursery. I wanted a loving, caring, educational and fun environment for children, and importantly, a nursery that was at the heart of its community.


I spent over a year looking for the right space for the nursery, and was thrilled when I secured this building. I was lucky to be able to approach the design with a blank sheet of paper, meaning every element of the nursery has been thought through by me, from a parent's point of view, and the children. The physics of the nursery structure are only part of the story, however. For me, far more important is striking the right atmosphere; one of love and inspiration.


With the emphasis at Banana Moon to see everything from a child’s point of view, every stage of your child’s development, quality of care and learning will be to the highest standards. It is with this in mind that I have recruited an extremely experienced and well-qualified team, all of whom are extremely passionate about working with children.


I well remember the emotional rollercoaster that I went through when I first looked for a nursery for my daughter. Everything I do at the nursery is in light of my experience as a parent, and most importantly, the nursery has to be of the highest standard that I am happy enough for both of my children to attend.

My curiosity about childcare as a career first started when I dropped my son off for his first settling-in session at nursery when he was 10 months old. When I picked him up an hour later, I was relieved to see that he was happy and content, sitting with a practitioner who was singing to a small group of children.


When I left the setting, I thought to myself Wow, what a fun and rewarding way to spend the day. Several days later, I applied for a nursery assistant rol,e and the rest is history.


I shall never forget the warmth and care received, not only to my son but to myself, during those early days of nursery.


That was over 20 years ago, and during that time, I have progressed from a nursery assistant to manager.

My role within the setting is to ensure that all children receive the best possible care by providing them with a safe, positive and nurturing environment to help them grow and flourish.

Learning through play is our focus; the team tailor individual learning based on children’s current interests and their understanding of the world around them.


The team are warm, friendly and dedicated to providing the best care they can from the first settling-in session to preparing them for school and beyond.


Communication is key, especially in those early days of nursery, which is why we value your contributions and feedback to help us provide the best outcomes for your child.
