Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury is a thriving, village based, family owned nursery, that prides itself at being at the heart of this exceptional village community.

In a caring and loving environment, children experience a wide range of learning initiatives, including messy and sensory play, with a strong focus on interacting with the outside world. The approach is to closely respond to children's interests, which has seen the arrival of a full size fork lift truck as part of a construction project, and the teaching of pizza making and basic Italian lessons as part of a multi-cultural project.

The passionate, experienced and caring team provides a safe and loving environment for children aged three months to five years. There are three rooms - under two's, toddlers and preschool. The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year, offering full day and half day sessions (7.30-1 or 1-6.30)

CCTV is installed in all rooms and operate a biometric finger print entry system, ensuring the safety of the children. The nursery offers two home-cooked hot meals each day.

Our son and daughter have attended Banana Moon Harbury over the years from baby moons to mini moons and have both really enjoyed their time there. The care has been fantastic - all of the staff are so caring, friendly and keep us updated after each session. We've always felt we can trust the team and
that our children are being well looked after. It's also great to have the app to see what activities they're getting up to and eating etc each day. Healthy hot meals cooked on-site is a bonus. The nursery is also managed brilliantly with clear communication and easily contactable on site or by email/phone if you need anything. We are always kept in the loop with the latest information and everything is very organised and safe. Couldn't have asked for any more & we highly recommend this nursery!

We've attended this nursery for nearly 4yrs, and are very sad to leave as our daughter starts school soon. Over the years the care our daughter has received has been fantastic, all of the staff are so invested in each child and take such an interest in their different personalities.
We've never had
a day when our daughter doesn't want to go and she always comes out keen to tell us all the exciting things she's been up to. This nursery feels like an extension of our family. It's a big decision as a parent choosing somewhere to care for your child and Banana Moon has never made me doubt that decision.
Friendly, warm, nurturing and with excellent food. They've been instrumental in developing our daughter over the past four years and because of the work they do she's more than ready to tackle her next phase of life within school.

I can't speak highly enough of Banana Moon Harbury. I began fostering my great niece just over two years ago and consider myself extremely fortunate to have found Banana Moon (luckily my sister-in-law who worked in childcare recommended them) - well worth the half-hour round trip to get there.
My
great niece has loved going there which was extremely important considering what she was going through. The quality and variety of food provided is excellent and all of the staff have been brilliant with both my great niece and myself - friendly, supportive, easy to talk to and professional.
I also have to express my sincere thanks to the nursery manager who has continually shared her knowledge and advice when requested and has always taken onboard any of the information or requests I've shared despite the complications that our situation brings with it.
The owner has also been extremely supportive and understanding throughout.
I cannot recommend Banana Moon Harbury highly enough.

We currently have two children at Banana Moon, one who is moving on to a School affiliated pre-school - however, this decision was a really difficult one to make as we absolutely love Banana Moon!


Our children have absolutely thrived at Banana Moon, and we never have a day where they do not want

to go in! The love, care and nurturing given is second to none, not to mention the wizardry cooking of the chef who dishes up meals that make us want to go and join for tea time!


Our children are always embraced, encouraged and celebrated by every member of the team.


Chosing a nursery is a huge decision, but Banana Moon is a setting we would chose over and over again.

Our child has attended Banana Moon for over 2 years now, progressing from babies to toddlers and now in the preschool room. In each room, she has been well looked after and entertained.
She happily runs to the door each morning and comes home with lots of talk of all the fun things she has been doing
that day.
The communication from nursery has been clear and prompt, the app is used to provide updates throughout the day and sometimes photos of their activities.
We have been very happy with the care provided and our daughter really enjoys her days at nursery.

Both of my children have gone through Banana Moon Day Nursery from babies to preschool. It is a wonderful nursery with lovely, personable staff. They have looked after my boys with care and built their confidence ready for school. Management is easy to talk to if needed. I highly recommend the nursery.

It is probably enough to say that we have used Banana Moon for three children and 9 years! We have always been very happy with the team, and we cannot pick fault. The staff are all so super friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, always smiling and encouraging of the children. Organisation and communication
has always been top notch - both management and the room staff respond to e-mails and messages extremely quickly, there are always plenty of updates on the app, and we are always informed of any changes, including explanations of why decisions have been made. It is clear that the children and staff are the top priorities, but I have always been very grateful of common sense decision making that is sensitive to the busy working parent. Our kids say that the Rocket Room (for the baking) and the outside space (for the toys, trees to climb and hide and seek potential) was their favourite!

My little boy has been attending Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury for nearly twelve months now and he has absolutely flourished in that time. His communication and understanding are so advanced and it is all down to the great work the team do at the nursery. I've yet to come across anyone in the team
who isn't friendly, helpful and kind which is so important as a parent. Within a couple of days of being at the nursery, everyone knew my little boy's name, even if they weren't working in his room, and me and my partner were recognised by the staff so quickly. We have fingerprint access so when we come to collect we can walk straight in and see what the children are up to - this really helps build trust knowing that there are no "special appearances" put on when parents come to collect. The food is fantastic - I can safely say my 2-year-old eats far better than I do and there is always so much going on for the children to be involved with. I would highly recommend the team at Banana Moon Harbury!

My Daughter started at Banana Moon Nursery from the age of 10 months, she is now 4 years old. I highly recommend this nursery. My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery and has created such a close bond with many of the staff there.
All staff members are fantastic. The app they use to update
you on your child's day is fantastic and its lovely to see and hear all about the fun activities they've been up to. The staff communicate very well if ever there has been a problem whilst my daughter has attended the nursery. All staff are very friendly, welcoming and approachable. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since starting and she's learnt so many new skills. The meal choices are brilliant and provide a great variety. As a busy working mum, it gives me peace of mind knowing my daughter is in safe hands and being looked after and cared for so well. The staff go above and beyond and are so understanding. My son started at Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury aged 13 months old - and from the moment he arrived he was treated with such care and love by the staff. They have really created an environment where children thrive. My boy is quite shy and was slow to talk. But his confidence has grown and grown.
He
trusts the staff completely. He has some very specific interests (planes and tanks) and they embraced his favourite things. Finding pictures of planes for him to draw or paint - looking up facts about planes on the tablet with him and getting him to make tanks. It has really built his confidence to be allowed to be himself so much.
The management are great - quick to reply to any questions I have - and the app lets me see what my son has done every day - including food, nappies and lots of pictures of him playing.
The outside area is small - but they make the most of it and play outside every day.
This is a small village nursery with a real family atmosphere.

My daughter has attended the nursery since September 2020. During her time, she has developed in so many ways through learning and playing inside and out. She has built relationships with friends and also the staff that work there. She has always been happy to go.
She has flourished in her three years

My nephew settled really quickly, and each staff member in the baby room take such good care of him! He’s come on developmentally since starting and loves the variety of activities they have on offer each day, especially all the messy and sensory play they do! All staff in the nursery greet us each
day with a smile and know each child by name, even staff in other rooms. The food is yummy and has opened a whole range of different food groups to try. The room is calming and inviting and they follow the children’s interest which is really lovely to see! The app they use is fab to see what they have been doing, as well as keeping a log of sleep, nappy changes and invoices. The owner and manager are quick to reply to emails and are very good at offering advice and are always there to answer any questions. My nephew can’t wait to get out of the car in the morning and the smile on his face says it all! Would highly recommend it!

My son has been at Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury for 7 months now and it's clear he loves his time there! The staff are wonderfully attentive, and loving and just appear to have so much fun with all the babies. I also love all the regular photo updates and captions so lovely to see when you're working

My 15 month old son has been in the baby room at Banana Moon Harbury for 6 months. He is very happy at nursery and has a great time learning through play with the nursery team. The girls who work in the baby room are all caring, friendly and helpful. My little boy is really happy to see them every morning.
The
app is especially useful as I can see what he has eaten, naps and any other activities.
The management of the nursery is also very organised. The menus are good and varied.
Excellent nursery supported by a family feel.

The first thing for you to know is that I am a mum to two young children; a daughter Millie and son, Ted.
As a parent having already researched an awful lot of nurseries for my daughter, and found one that I loved (the very first Banana Moon!) I had a firm idea of what I was looking to achieve when I opened my own nursery. I wanted a loving, caring, educational and fun environment for children, and importantly, a nursery that was at the heart of its community.
I spent over a year looking for the right space for the nursery, and were thrilled when I secured this building. I was lucky to be able to approach the design with a blank sheet of paper, meaning every element of the nursery has been thought through by me, from a parent point of view, and the children. The physics of the nursery structure are only part of the story however. For me, far more important is striking the right atmosphere; one of love and inspiration.
With the emphasis at Banana Moon to see everything from a child’s point of view; every stage of your child’s development, quality of care and learning will be to the highest standards. It is with this in mind that I have recruited an extremely experienced and well qualified team, all of whom are extremely passionate about working with children.
I well remember the emotional rollercoaster that I went through when I first looked for a nursery for my daughter. Everything I do at the nursery is in light of my experience as a parent, and most importantly the nursery has to be of the highest standard that I am happy enough for both of my children to attend.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

I have worked in childcare for 21 years, covering a wide range of roles and positions in establishments such as private schools, day nurseries and as a private nanny. I have worked my way up from a nursery nurse into senior positions before taking on management roles. The roles I have taken have helped shape my experiences and given me a wealth of knowledge which I share with my staff team, helping and supporting best practice.
To further extend my knowledge I undertook my degree in Early Childhood Studies with the Open University, qualifying in 2013. This has led me to understand and lead on a wide range of pedagogical approaches and support, not just the children in my care, but also my staff. I am extremely passionate and committed in my role as a practitioner and Manager and I aim to lead by example to give all children the best start in life alongside mentoring and supporting my team.
My goal is to create a setting that cares for and nurtures children, parents and staff. My door is always open for everyone.
Outside of work I love cooking and listening to music, but my biggest passion is reading. I can get lost for hours in a good book......any recommendations welcome!!
