A warm and welcoming setting, Ashburton House Day Nursery has created dedicated spaces for Babies - under 2 years old, Teenies - from around 20 months to around 28 months, Toddlers - aged 2 to 3 years old and Preschoolers - aged 3 to 5 years old.

Set in a spacious detached Georgian house ideally located on the High Street just by Monument Green, the setting offers both part time and full time sessions to suit busy families, as well as accepting the Early years funding for children aged 9+ months from September 2024.

Ashburton House is perfectly equipped to offer everything that children need to extend their learning and development both indoors and through exploring the outside environment. The nursery offers a delightful Mud Kitchen, a secret garden (where the children learn about growing plants from seeds and caring for them as they grow), and an exclusive covered baby garden.

Home cooked meals by the in house chef who designs and creates the menus. Amber bees Wednesday mornings - classes take children on a musical journey to explore different themes, including lots of magical props, instruments, sensory parachutes, lights and bubbles. As well as Hearbeeps sessions every Friday morning.

We picked Ashburton House because of their ethos; curiosity approach and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our son had only started in September but has flourished rapidly. He has always been a social character even in lockdown but had missed time with other children of his age as he was meant
to start in April. Since being at Ashburton House, he has made friends, he is more receptive to diverse food, his speech has developed and he plays well with others. He is excited to go in the mornings and when we come to pick him up, he is always smiling and cheerful after the day's activities. The staff in the Babies team are friendly and caring and all of them always have the time to speak to us about our son's day. A big shout out to the Business Manager too as she is ever knowledgeable, helpful, knows our son and always has time for us. Highly recommended!

My son loves his time at Ashburton House - the team are fantastic, we love the 'Curiosity Approach' they use and the care they give to our little boy. He often eats more at nursery than he does at home and the cooks' recipes are super helpful - her carrot cake is a favourite. The team sends regular
updates and communications on staff changes etc. All in all, couldn't be happier.

The staff at Ashburton House are fantastic and really look after the little ones. The Business Manager in particular is brilliant, always cheerful and happy to assist with any queries I have had. Both my children have loved being here from the time they were babies to the time that one went to school
and the other to pre-school.

Our two little ones have been at Ashburton House for about six weeks now, and both they and we are absolutely loving it so far. Everyone we meet there is really friendly and brilliant with the boys. The level of feedback we get, both at pick up and on the app is excellent. The food they have is also
always very healthy and varied. Overall, we have no complaints whatsoever, and the boys are both really excited to get to nursery in the mornings and come home buzzing in the evenings.

We have actually recommended the nursery to a friend who has since joined, such as the fantastic environment we feel our son has been nurtured in so far. All of the staff are excellent - creating trust with our son who has a great relationship with all of them as well as providing us as parents with
a friendly face and informative update both on EYlog and at the end of each day.

My daughter joined the nursery in February and was immediately made to feel welcome, settling in really quickly and loving all of the staff. Following the Mar-Jun lockdown, whilst all childcare was closed, She had become quite clingy and wary of anyone who wasn’t my wife or me. However, within a couple
of days of being back at Ashburton House she was really enjoying her days again:
- Can’t wait to get in in the morning, lunging to be held by any of her regular carers that met us at the door in the morning
- Always eating all of her food (which is varied and sounds delicious)
- Comes out at the end of the day, clearly tired from a day of activities but, bubbly smiley and in great spirits.
We were nervous at our child (11 months at the time) starting at nursery and no longer being at home with us all day and even more so going back after ‘lockdown’ but everything the experience allayed those fears and knowing she loves being there makes us feel much better. Highly recommend.

The setting is so warming and the staff all so friendly and genuinely interested in each individual child. My two daughters have attended but now it’s just my youngest as my eldest has started school. She comes out full of beans telling me everything she has done throughout the day. She knows all her
teachers' names, the staff it seems are just as much her friends as the other children which are lovely to hear. I couldn’t recommend it more.

We couldn’t recommend Ashburton Day Nursery enough - our little boy is so happy here, has developed so much and we’re always very impressed with the level of care, nutrition and diversity of educational activities he gets to exposed to. The staff are very much an extended family and we feel very lucky
to have found a nursery that we trust so much to care for, nurture and develop our little one.

Very happy with the progress our daughter is making and the genuine care shown by all who work at the nursery. Happy with the range of food offered and the feedback at the end of each day. Our daughter is definitely having a good time as sometimes doesn’t want to come home.

What a wonderful nursery. From the moment my son has started here last year, we have been nothing but happy with the care, staff, food and facilities. Every day we can see my son developing as a child, which is wonderful. He has so much fun painting, playing in the garden and with his friends. The staff
at Ashburton House are also fantastic-so friendly, and my son loves them all. Fantastic nursery. Would recommend it very highly.

My son started at the nursery after lockdown so we were unable to have a normal settling in period where the parents would be able to attend - but this was well navigated by the staff and they took our concerns into consideration and worked with us. He absolutely loves it there, all the staff are very
attentive and caring and it is clear how much he is learning just by being there three days a week. They have also helped us immensely with potty training, we couldn't have done it without them.

Sharon joined us in November 2021 and has worked in childcare for many years, starting out as a Nursery Practitioner and working her way up to Deputy Manager in previous settings. Sharon has also undergone training in Special Educational Needs and English as a Second Language.
