A warm and welcoming setting, Ashburton House Day Nursery has created dedicated spaces for Babies - under 2 years old, Teenies - from around 20 months to around 28 months, Toddlers - aged 2 to 3 years old and Preschoolers - aged 3 to 5 years old.

Set in a spacious detached Georgian house ideally located on the High Street just by Monument Green, the setting offers both part time and full time sessions to suit busy families, as well as accepting the Early years funding for children aged 9+ months from September 2024.

Ashburton House is perfectly equipped to offer everything that children need to extend their learning and development both indoors and through exploring the outside environment. The nursery offers a delightful Mud Kitchen, a secret garden (where the children learn about growing plants from seeds and caring for them as they grow), and an exclusive covered baby garden.

Home cooked meals by the in house chef who designs and creates the menus. Amber bees Wednesday mornings - classes take children on a musical journey to explore different themes, including lots of magical props, instruments, sensory parachutes, lights and bubbles. As well as Hearbeeps sessions every Friday morning.

Have had both our children here and been very happy, one is still there now.
The manager and the team are great, so much so that my youngest now insists on wearing a suit and tie every day like the manager.
Would recommend.

Can’t recommend Ashburton House enough. The staff are great and extremely helpful. My daughter looks forward to every day she attends and has built a really strong rapport with both her friends at the nursery and all the staff. I was very nervous about sending our son to nursery, as he was a lockdown baby and hadn’t been looked after by anyone except me. He has taken a couple of months to settle in but is really starting to come out of his shell now and loves going to nursery. They do a huge amount of messy play/crafts which
I love. The staff have been so helpful and always make the effort to get back to me when I’ve emailed or phoned about anything to do with him. He goes every morning with a huge smile on his face!

A wonderful friendly nursery. Every day our daughter is developing, learning new things and skills. The food at the nursery is so varied and our daughter pretty much eats everything. The staff are brilliant. The connection they make with the children is lovely to see.

The people at Ashburton House have been lovely to our little boy. He settled in nicely and he enjoys going to the nursery every day. The app is very useful to know how much he's eaten and slept and follow any other kind of observations on his development.

Ashburton House is a wonderful nursery, the team is incredibly nurturing and our daughter is very very happy there! She’s been there for 3 years now and loves going to see her friends and her favourite person. I think all the little ones love her! The things our daughter is learning at pre-school and
what she does as extracurricular activities is wonderful! The managers are quick to respond to any queries you may have and the chefs produce really yummy food, to the extent that if we try and make the same dish at home it’s not eaten or is disliked because "that’s not how it looks or tastes at preschool, mummy!" Looks like I need to get a few days in the nursery kitchen to get trained up to cook at home! Thank you for looking after our little one and for being there for us parents!

Both our children have attended Ashburton, and they've flourished under the care and support the staff provide. The atmosphere is friendly, the children happy and enjoy the activities. The staff make a real effort and have a great rapport with the kids.

My husband and I are both delighted with Ashburton House Day Nursery. Our son has been going four days a week for five months and not only absolutely loves it, but has come on in leaps and bounds in particular with his language since starting. Would thoroughly recommend!

I can't speak highly enough of the nursery. We moved over from another local nursery as our son was constantly being sent home and the staff were often quite rude and hard to talk to. As a family, we couldn't be happier with our decision as the staff here are so friendly and genuinely care about the
children and their development. Would highly recommend it!

I have 2 children at Ashburton House Day Nursery, the eldest for 2 years and the youngest for 6 months. Both doing 4 days each week. Honestly, the staff in babies, toddlers and all around the nursery are absolutely wonderful, my kids couldn’t be happier. It has made going back to work so much easier
to be assured they are in such safe hands having so much fun. The food menu is excellent and the weekly themes are great. Regular assessments are provided which ensures you are kept informed on how your child is developing and a weekly newsletter keeps you updated on activities and changes. It is a small nursery but with a very homely comfortable feel. I would 100% recommend this fabulous nursery.

Ashburton House Day Nursery is a caring, nurturing setting for children. We cannot recommend it enough. The staff are wonderful and really take the time to get to know the children. The setting is lovely with lots of different activities enjoyed throughout the day. It also has an outdoor space with
a play area. The food provided is also well thought out and nutritious.

We have had a very positive experience with Ashburton House. As our son was born shortly before the pandemic started then he struggled with some developmental milestones, especially being around strangers and lots of children. Right from the beginning communication has been excellent and any concerns
were raised in a timely manner. Our son is in the baby room and throughout the time he’s been there (three months now) the nursery workers have provided regular updates of progress, discussed any concerns, and have worked with us to help our son settle. Despite a rocky start our son now loves being at nursery and often cries when he leaves. We can see he’s come along leaps and bounds since starting and really enjoys the company of the adults, especially his key person. He is getting more used to interacting with other children and participating in group activities. He is also able to explore his own interests. The food provided is very good and well balanced.

A very friendly, accommodating, flexible, and full of good people nursery. Everyone is very supportive, the ladies do understand what parents go through and give 110% support in any given situation, not only to the child but to us adults too. Days are always filled with plenty of different activities,

Our daughter loves Ashburton House. She has been coming here for just under a year now and settled very easily. The staff are great and our daughter rarely stops to say goodbye when we drop her off in the morning, she runs off to play with her friends which we see as a great indicator for how much she
enjoys her time at nursery. I also love that the food is cooked on site.

This is the first childcare our 2-year-old has visited, and we were nervous about how she might settle, especially after being so close to us during the lockdown. She has settled in so quickly, which is a testament to all the staff at Ashburton House. She runs to the door now when we drop her off and
talks about going to “school” a lot which shows how much she enjoys her time there. She is enjoying the new experience, food, friends and activities which makes us very happy. So thank you Ashburton House!

This is a fantastic nursery, the staff do an amazing job of caring for and teaching our son, he has become so much more sociable and confident since starting at the nursery, and has learnt a huge amount of new words and skills. He always comes home happy, well-fed and I can tell he's had a lovely day,
and he's always excited to go in the mornings. The staff are so kind and friendly and they always take time to tell us about his day and how much he slept and ate. They really look after him and treat him with exceptional care. During the pandemic, the nursery has been so supportive and has helped us to be able to continue working whilst staying safe, and our son continuing his development at a very important stage. This is a perfect nursery when we viewed it initially we instantly knew it was the one for our son, and after almost a year we know it was the right choice.

Sharon joined us in November 2021 and has worked in childcare for many years, starting out as a Nursery Practitioner and working her way up to Deputy Manager in previous settings. Sharon has also undergone training in Special Educational Needs and English as a Second Language.
