Ashburton House Day Nursery

We have been really happy with Ashburton House Day Nursery since our 2-year-old son started here. He has learned so much from the key workers and talks about the nursery all the time. We feel that he is being cared for really well and generally feel the warmth from all the staff members there. He also seems to be flourishing in the environment, and with all the friends he is making. We love that they spend time in different spaces during the day, it makes such a difference! We have been very pleased with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager - both very communicative and helpful. Very happy with our experience so far.

We have been using Ashburton House Day Nursery since 2019. We cannot recommend them highly enough. The care and compassion they show towards the children is second to none and they're always there to support you. The opportunities they offer the children in a nursery environment are phenomenal and the garden renovation has had a huge impact in allowing the children to play in different spaces. It is nothing but welcoming and my son enjoys going every day.

Our daughter has been with Ashburton House Day Nursery since she was only 8 months old and is currently in the toddler room. She has thrived there and clearly has a special relationship with a number of the practitioners who have looked after her across the different rooms. The nursery has a family feel and is a nurturing environment. Every day she comes home talking about various activities, messy play, fun in the garden or trips out to see the ducks. Our second will be starting in a few months and I feel lucky that he will have the same people looking after him as well.

Can’t recommend Ashburton House enough. The staff are great and extremely helpful. My daughter looks forward to every day she attends and has built a really strong rapport with both her friends at the nursery and all the staff. The range of activities means she learns something new every day and has a great experience doing so. She’s as excited to tell us about her day as we are to hear about it.

I was very nervous about sending our son to nursery, as he was a lockdown baby and hadn’t been looked after by anyone except me. He has taken a couple of months to settle in but is really starting to come out of his shell now and loves going to nursery. They do a huge amount of messy play/crafts which I love. The staff have been so helpful and always make the effort to get back to me when I’ve emailed or phoned about anything to do with him. He goes every morning with a huge smile on his face!

A wonderful friendly nursery. Every day our daughter is developing, learning new things and skills. The food at the nursery is so varied and our daughter pretty much eats everything. The staff are brilliant. The connection they make with the children is lovely to see.

The people at Ashburton House have been lovely to our little boy. He settled in nicely and he enjoys going to the nursery every day. The app is very useful to know how much he's eaten and slept and follow any other kind of observations on his development.

Ashburton House is a wonderful nursery, the team is incredibly nurturing and our daughter is very very happy there! She’s been there for 3 years now and loves going to see her friends and her favourite person. I think all the little ones love her! The things our daughter is learning at pre-school and what she does as extracurricular activities is wonderful! The managers are quick to respond to any queries you may have and the chefs produce really yummy food, to the extent that if we try and make the same dish at home it’s not eaten or is disliked because "that’s not how it looks or tastes at preschool, mummy!" Looks like I need to get a few days in the nursery kitchen to get trained up to cook at home! Thank you for looking after our little one and for being there for us parents!

Over the past 6 years, both of my children have attended Ashburton House. I could not be happier with the nursery, they really have provided a nurturing, friendly place for my children to learn and play! I would totally recommend Ashburton House to friends and family!

Both our children have attended Ashburton, and they've flourished under the care and support the staff provide. The atmosphere is friendly, the children happy and enjoy the activities. The staff make a real effort and have a great rapport with the kids.

Ashburton House has lovely and capable, hard-working staff that make a huge effort to entertain, teach and look after our children. My boy has a lovely time and looks forward to going every day. I would recommend Ashburton House to anyone that was looking for a great nursery for their children.

My husband and I are both delighted with Ashburton House Day Nursery. Our son has been going four days a week for five months and not only absolutely loves it, but has come on in leaps and bounds in particular with his language since starting. Would thoroughly recommend!

I can't speak highly enough of the nursery. We moved over from another local nursery as our son was constantly being sent home and the staff were often quite rude and hard to talk to. As a family, we couldn't be happier with our decision as the staff here are so friendly and genuinely care about the children and their development. Would highly recommend it!

I have 2 children at Ashburton House Day Nursery, the eldest for 2 years and the youngest for 6 months. Both doing 4 days each week. Honestly, the staff in babies, toddlers and all around the nursery are absolutely wonderful, my kids couldn’t be happier. It has made going back to work so much easier to be assured they are in such safe hands having so much fun. The food menu is excellent and the weekly themes are great. Regular assessments are provided which ensures you are kept informed on how your child is developing and a weekly newsletter keeps you updated on activities and changes. It is a small nursery but with a very homely comfortable feel. I would 100% recommend this fabulous nursery.

Ashburton House Day Nursery is a caring, nurturing setting for children. We cannot recommend it enough. The staff are wonderful and really take the time to get to know the children. The setting is lovely with lots of different activities enjoyed throughout the day. It also has an outdoor space with a play area. The food provided is also well thought out and nutritious.

We have had a very positive experience with Ashburton House. As our son was born shortly before the pandemic started then he struggled with some developmental milestones, especially being around strangers and lots of children. Right from the beginning communication has been excellent and any concerns were raised in a timely manner. Our son is in the baby room and throughout the time he’s been there (three months now) the nursery workers have provided regular updates of progress, discussed any concerns, and have worked with us to help our son settle. Despite a rocky start our son now loves being at nursery and often cries when he leaves. We can see he’s come along leaps and bounds since starting and really enjoys the company of the adults, especially his key person. He is getting more used to interacting with other children and participating in group activities. He is also able to explore his own interests. The food provided is very good and well balanced.

A very friendly, accommodating, flexible, and full of good people nursery. Everyone is very supportive, the ladies do understand what parents go through and give 110% support in any given situation, not only to the child but to us adults too. Days are always filled with plenty of different activities, outings on a daily basis, or entertainment.

Our eldest has been at the nursery for 2 years now and we’ve been very happy with it. He loves going and the staff are fantastic! The activities are varied and he learns a lot every day. Our youngest starts there in the New Year too.
