The staff ensure children are at the heart of the nursery, creates personalised plans to support children's development, seeks advice and guidance from parents on what special interest children have, and makes sure activities are tailored around it. As parents, we receive daily updates on our little one's time at nursery, as well as developmental review updates with a guide on how else we can support our little one's progress.
We have seen great progress in our son's development since he started attending the nursery, and we would strongly recommend it to any parent looking for a safe, developing and happy place for their little one.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we will certainly share this with the rest of the team. It is so lovely to read how pleased you are with our nursery and the care we provide.
The staff at Sycamore House Day Nursery have been wonderful to both of my children. My son, who is now six, still insists on picking up his sister from nursery so he can see the staff. They treated my children with so much love and care, and they both love it there. They always communicate any concerns and are willing to work together to rectify them. I really love this nursery and would definitely recommend it.
Thank you so much for your kind words; we really appreciate your comments and are pleased to hear how much you all enjoy Sycamore House.
The staff are simply wonderful. They know our twins so well, they look after them beautifully, and they take excellent care of them at all times. We have been so impressed with the nursery in every aspect and would highly recommend it. I have every confidence in sending my children there.
I am confident her curiosity and inquisitive nature are being nurtured by the environment's plentiful indoor and outdoor nature-based resources combined with staff who are engaging and positive.
The food is all provided and has catered for my daughter individually while she is weaning which has provided great peace of mind.
My 13-month-old started in September 2022 attending, one day a week, as the nursery we wanted to put her in didn't have availability. Fast forward to November, and I am so glad we came across Sycamore. The staff are so lovely, always friendly and so attentive. One member of staff isn't my daughter's key worker, but she adores him, and he's fab with her. My little one is always happy at drop off, which gives lots of peace of mind as well. We have now signed her up for another day and will be cancelling the nursery I originally wanted her to go to!
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so pleased you and your little one enjoy coming to Sycamore. I will be sharing your lovely comments with our amazing team.
Management gives so much care and attention, not only to the children but to the parents - always available to have a confidential chat.
The nursery could do with some more toys and resources; I would say that they are 5 for indoors and 4.5 for outdoors.
It is a long day, and with food and everything included, we think we get a good package.
It is a very well-managed nursery, and all the staff that we have come across are excellent. We like the ethos of the nursery, and the activities that the children are able to experience are both creative and educational. The food offering is also impressive.
We receive regular photographs and videos so can see how much our children are enjoying themselves and learning. There is regular feedback to parents, and the staff are keen to hear about new interests and skills that the children are developing at home so as to continue to nurture these when at nursery.
It always feels like a very happy place with staff who really care about the children as individuals and who ensure that they are treated as such.
We are extremely happy with our choice of nursery.
Both our children have been at Sycamore since they were 9 months, and both have grown in confidence throughout, and they look forward to going to nursery. The staff are welcoming, and any obstacles our child has faced, the nursery offers their full support and our child's well-being is the top priority. Both our children are happy and looked after, and we can't recommend this nursery enough!
I love receiving picture and video updates on the app whilst I'm working.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and a special thank you to one member of staff, who is extremely thorough with any questions I have or letting me know how my son's day has gone.
I was so nervous to put my daughter into the nursery. I spent a good few months looking at different places all around Hertfordshire, but I am absolutely over the moon I chose Sycamore House. The staff are so kind, and even those that aren’t directly working in the nursery section with my child, all know her name and greet her when she comes in, which makes both her and me feel really comfortable and welcome. We are kept updated daily on everything she does with images and info on an app. There are varied activities throughout the day, both inside and outside, and I am consistently asked about new developments, likes and dislikes so that my child is catered for and her experience is the best it can be. I have also noticed some of her skills are way ahead of her peers that aren’t in a nursery of this standard, such as using cutlery and understanding complex tasks. I cannot fault it; we love it here.
My child started the nursery in February 2022. She is there full time (mornings and afternoons), 5-days a week. I can say that Sycamore House has a great staff with a caring mindset! They are absolutely amazing, lovely and understanding people. When I pick up my child, she is always very happy and in a good mood. My child has some intolerances to certain food proteins, and the nursery has provided her with a specific menu, and this has been working very well. I really love this place, and so does my child! I would not hesitate to recommend it to other mums!
Sycamore House has done a fantastic job looking after my son and helped him settle really quickly. I have been particularly impressed by how quickly my son has built a rapport with the committed staff. We have also been kept regularly up to date with his progress.
I particularly like how the nursery uses everyday objects to help the children explore and play. Sycamore House has a lovely feel to it; it’s the main thing that convinced me it was a great nursery for my son.
The nursery team have always gone out of their way to make my son feel comfortable and settled. He has always been clingy, and drop-off was a nightmare, but they were always kind and gave him cuddles and comforted him and would often call me to let me know he had settled ok and had no problem with me calling to check on him. He really was a terrible settler!
The app is also really good and informative and a lovely way to track progress and get tips on how to support him specifically at home to support his development.
I’m pleased we picked this nursery, and the comms from the team throughout has been proactive and informative.
Excellent nursery. All staff are kind, warm, professional and know both of our children very well. Both of my children have developed in so many ways since joining. Would highly recommend to any parent.
My 3 year old has been attending Sycamore House since he was 18 months old and he really loves it there. I can see how much he’s changed and developed every time I pick him up. The staff are amazing and so friendly and supportive. Would definitely recommend Sycamore house!
My daughter has attended Sycamore House Day Nursery since July 2018 when she was 6 months old. The staff are friendly and caring and my daughter loves it there. I really like the curiosity approach that they follow as it teaches children to be creative. During the pandemic, I have felt that the nursery has kept parents fully informed and that my daughter is completely safe in the nursery.
We have been using the nursery since 2016 when our eldest child started at aged 1 and think it is great. Our youngest is currently still at the nursery in the preschool room and loves it and all of the staff. Everyone is friendly and you can see how much they care for the children. The facilities are good and the children do a huge range of activities and in preschool, they help them prepare for school.
My daughter loves the Nursery and the staff at Sycamore House, she always comes home smiling and talks about all the things she has been up to each day. Her development and confidence have come on amazingly. The extra thought and attention they give to create an educational and fun environment is outstanding. We feel really involved in our daughter's learning and her development as her key person keeps us up to date by putting video and photo observations on Tapestry. They also upload our daughters planning onto Tapestry too; which has given us some really helpful parenting tips and ideas of what we can do at home to support her learning.
His room leader and key worker are really lovely people. They are very friendly, always happy to see him. They take their time to explain to me what he has done during the day and any concerns they have with him. The activities are always varied and exciting, sometimes I get quite jealous I can't do them myself. They also keep me up to date with his progress and how he is developing in all areas.
His speech really comes on and I notice differences every time he has been.
He eats really well at nursery and they always have a variety of different foods.
I am really happy with the nursery.
