My 13-month-old started in September 2022 attending, one day a week, as the nursery we wanted to put her in didn't have availability. Fast forward to November, and I am so glad we came across Sycamore. The staff are so lovely, always friendly and so attentive. One member of staff isn't my daughter's
key worker, but she adores him, and he's fab with her. My little one is always happy at drop off, which gives lots of peace of mind as well. We have now signed her up for another day and will be cancelling the nursery I originally wanted her to go to!

The care provided is exceptional and genuine. The staff are always friendly and professional, and the children create a good and positive bond with them.
Management gives so much care and attention, not only to the children but to the parents - always available to have a confidential chat.
The nursery
could do with some more toys and resources; I would say that they are 5 for indoors and 4.5 for outdoors.
It is a long day, and with food and everything included, we think we get a good package.

Two of our children currently attend Sycamore House, and our eldest child left recently to go to school, having attended since she was just over 6 months old. We have had an extremely positive experience and would highly recommend it.
It is a very well-managed nursery, and all the staff that we have
come across are excellent. We like the ethos of the nursery, and the activities that the children are able to experience are both creative and educational. The food offering is also impressive.
We receive regular photographs and videos so can see how much our children are enjoying themselves and learning. There is regular feedback to parents, and the staff are keen to hear about new interests and skills that the children are developing at home so as to continue to nurture these when at nursery.
It always feels like a very happy place with staff who really care about the children as individuals and who ensure that they are treated as such.
We are extremely happy with our choice of nursery.

Both our children have been at Sycamore since they were 9 months, and both have grown in confidence throughout, and they look forward to going to nursery. The staff are welcoming, and any obstacles our child has faced, the nursery offers their full support and our child's well-being is the top priority.
Both our children are happy and looked after, and we can't recommend this nursery enough!

My son (15 months) has attended here since March and has come on leaps and bounds since.
I love receiving picture and video updates on the app whilst I'm working.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and a special thank you to one member of staff, who is extremely thorough with any questions

I was so nervous to put my daughter into the nursery. I spent a good few months looking at different places all around Hertfordshire, but I am absolutely over the moon I chose Sycamore House. The staff are so kind, and even those that aren’t directly working in the nursery section with my child, all
know her name and greet her when she comes in, which makes both her and me feel really comfortable and welcome. We are kept updated daily on everything she does with images and info on an app. There are varied activities throughout the day, both inside and outside, and I am consistently asked about new developments, likes and dislikes so that my child is catered for and her experience is the best it can be. I have also noticed some of her skills are way ahead of her peers that aren’t in a nursery of this standard, such as using cutlery and understanding complex tasks. I cannot fault it; we love it here.

My child started the nursery in February 2022. She is there full time (mornings and afternoons), 5-days a week. I can say that Sycamore House has a great staff with a caring mindset! They are absolutely amazing, lovely and understanding people. When I pick up my child, she is always very happy and in
a good mood. My child has some intolerances to certain food proteins, and the nursery has provided her with a specific menu, and this has been working very well. I really love this place, and so does my child! I would not hesitate to recommend it to other mums!

My son has been at the nursery for two years and he loves it. In the time he has been at the nursery, he has become a very social and confident little boy. I find the staff are very friendly, and well informed. They regularly provide helpful updates on what the children have done and feedback on behaviours.
The manager is also fantastic; she knows the children well and makes herself available to parents.
I particularly like how the nursery uses everyday objects to help the children explore and play. Sycamore House has a lovely feel to it; it’s the main thing that convinced me it was a great nursery for my son.

The nursery team have always gone out of their way to make my son feel comfortable and settled. He has always been clingy, and drop-off was a nightmare, but they were always kind and gave him cuddles and comforted him and would often call me to let me know he had settled ok and had no problem with me
calling to check on him. He really was a terrible settler!


This really made me feel more confident when the COVID measures were introduced, knowing that those girls are caring and attentive is a big relief given the settling time is no longer there.
The app is also really good and informative and a lovely way to track progress and get tips on how to support him specifically at home to support his development.
I’m pleased we picked this nursery, and the comms from the team throughout has been proactive and informative.

My 3 year old has been attending Sycamore House since he was 18 months old and he really loves it there. I can see how much he’s changed and developed every time I pick him up. The staff are amazing and so friendly and supportive. Would definitely recommend Sycamore house!

My daughter has attended Sycamore House Day Nursery since July 2018 when she was 6 months old. The staff are friendly and caring and my daughter loves it there. I really like the curiosity approach that they follow as it teaches children to be creative. During the pandemic, I have felt that the nursery
has kept parents fully informed and that my daughter is completely safe in the nursery.

We have been using the nursery since 2016 when our eldest child started at aged 1 and think it is great. Our youngest is currently still at the nursery in the preschool room and loves it and all of the staff. Everyone is friendly and you can see how much they care for the children. The facilities are
good and the children do a huge range of activities and in preschool, they help them prepare for school.

My daughter loves the Nursery and the staff at Sycamore House, she always comes home smiling and talks about all the things she has been up to each day. Her development and confidence have come on amazingly. The extra thought and attention they give to create an educational and fun environment is outstanding.
We feel really involved in our daughter's learning and her development as her key person keeps us up to date by putting video and photo observations on Tapestry. They also upload our daughters planning onto Tapestry too; which has given us some really helpful parenting tips and ideas of what we can do at home to support her learning.

It's lovely to take my child to a place and not worry about him whilst he is there, that I am extremely confident that he is happy and secure when he is left there.
His room leader and key worker are really lovely people. They are very friendly, always happy to see him. They take their time to explain
to me what he has done during the day and any concerns they have with him. The activities are always varied and exciting, sometimes I get quite jealous I can't do them myself. They also keep me up to date with his progress and how he is developing in all areas.
His speech really comes on and I notice differences every time he has been.
He eats really well at nursery and they always have a variety of different foods.
I am really happy with the nursery.

I really like Curiosity approach promoted by the nursery, which allows my son to learn and develop new skills in a natural way, learning from the things that surround him. My son started the nursery at the age of 5 months and it has helped him greatly in his development. And thanks to the nursery approach,
he developed a big interest in playing with everyday things, plants, etc.
The staff are very caring and creative, not limited by a narrow choice of traditional games and activities often applied in other nurseries, coming up with new ways to engage children. I also like that there is freshly cooked food on-site, with a balanced diet for children.

My name is Kerry Braulik, and I am the Nursery Manager at Sycamore House Day Nursery in Bishop’s Stortford.


With nearly 20 years of experience in childcare, I am deeply passionate about early childhood education. I am committed to providing the best possible support to help young children reach their full potential, grow, and thrive in a nurturing environment.


Throughout my career in Early Years, I have worked in various settings, including teaching and assessing apprentices in early years education. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years, and a Level 3 Diploma in Child Psychology, and have recently completed my Level 3 Diploma in Mentoring. I continuously update my training and collaborate closely with our Early Years Advisory team.


It is a great honour to lead the dedicated and wonderful team at Sycamore House.

Hello! My name is Sophie, I am the deputy manager at Sycamore House. I am a friendly, approachable and energetic person who enjoys supporting and caring for children of all ages. I love letting children's passions and interests grow, helping them in all areas of their development.


We create a caring and relaxed atmosphere here at Sycamore where friendships are established with both the children and their families, ultimately allowing them to be comfortable and feel like they are at a home away from home.


I am a huge advocate for staff well-being & development, being an approachable & highly motivated individual to inspire staff & make them feel proud of the amazing work they do.
