Partou Sycamore House Day Nursery & Pre-school

Our daughter has been with Sycamore since she was in the toddler room. She’s very quiet but has grown in confidence with the kindness and encouragement of her key workers and all the practitioners. She has also been supported very well with her nappy training, and it has been so impressive the patience shown by the staff after toileting accidents. Practitioners seem well managed and supported which explains the family atmosphere and the safe and cosy feel. She has so much fun each day, the garden is lovely and interesting and all the activities are thoughtful and frequently rotated. She’s always talking about her practitioners and friends and singing the songs she’s learnt, she will really miss everyone when she goes off to school, as will we.

Such a perfect and homely nursery setting and the staff are just brilliant. They are so caring and the communication on routines etc was so straightforward. Felt so at ease dropping my daughter off for the day knowing she was going to be looked after and cared for by such a wonderful team. You will all be missed!

Both our sons have gone to Sycamore House over the years and have loved it. The staff genuinely care about the children, and have been great at steering and educating our boys. Our youngest has grown in confidence since going there and made some lovely friends. I know he will be very sad to leave. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Sycamore House Day Nursery has an open-door policy which means whenever you arrive you can see just how happy and well cared for all the children are at all times. This is a warm and welcoming nursery, the staff all seem so happy within their roles which is obviously transferring down to the children and creating a genuinely positive vibe throughout. My son has been with the nursery for a year and his confidence and development have grown enormously with the unconditional, nurturing love and support that the nursery staff have all provided. I visited all the nurseries within the catchment and could see immediately that this nursery stood out as the best and I have not been disappointed. Their approach to the well-being and happiness of all the children is evident with how happy my son is when he knows it’s a nursery day. What more could any parent want?

The best thing I can say about Sycamore is that I would wholeheartedly recommend them to others.

I found it very difficult to collect our child from Sycamore on her last days. I was very sad to be taking her away from a place where she felt so happy, safe and loved. Having a place like that where our child could go when we could not look after her has been a huge comfort for us over the past 2 years. All the staff at Sycamore have been amazing and have helped our child to develop into the little lady we are so proud of - thank you all. The most special thanks must go to Becky, who has been such a special part of our child's life and has helped to shape her into a confident, bold and loving little girl. I am sure she does not realise how grateful we are for her, and her relationship with our child. Our child constantly surprises us with her resilience and with so much change she is still bossing us around! She has done well over the first few days of her new nursery, but it is no Sycamore. If it takes a village to raise a child, then Sycamore has been our child's village.

Our child has been with Sycamore for over 2 years. I have to say that the level of care shown to them was absolutely amazing. My child has been able to form really strong bonds with key workers and other staff members and we feel like a part of the family. They have grown from strength to strength and really developed in many ways and we are happy with all the support received

Everyone is so welcoming and personable at Sycamore House, given we only attend once a week I'm amazed how everyone still knows both our girls' names and makes a real effort with them, you can tell they really care about all of the children. The staff work really hard to make the nursery a nice environment and support the children to grow through the curiosity approach. I can see a real difference in our eldest who has progressed from the baby room to the preschool room; the staff have helped to develop her confidence and support her in forming and building friendships.

Our son enjoyed his two years at Sycamore House. We liked that there was a focus on 'natural' play materials as part of the 'curiosity approach' rather than lots of plastic toys, screens etc. Communication was good if there were any issues. He enjoyed the food. Staff were kind and caring.

My daughter has really enjoyed her time at Sycamore House. The team are so kind and approachable. The activities are creative and fun, allowing for free expression and lots of fun. I highly recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has attended Sycamore since she was 10 months old. She quickly settled and made strong bonds with the team - as she was my first I felt like I was leaving my most precious possession in the hands of a stranger but they were so supportive. I straight away noticed the positive experience the nursery had on her, supporting her development and helping her become independent. Our son has now started and we're seeing the same positive development, he's so confident and sociable, they both love it. The staff are wonderful and attentive, they love the children and are constantly setting up fun activities. The garden is a really big space with lots to do and uncover - the children really get to explore and I love that they use more real-life and natural open-ended objects for play! It's with a heavy heart that my daughter leaves for school - I know she is more than ready but she's had such a positive experience at Sycamore and made some lovely friends, we will miss the team too.

Both our children have loved going to Scyamore House. The staff are very friendly and it feels like they know and understand our children. There is plenty there to keep them engaged and happy and, as a family, we have felt supported in our journey, from baby room up to preschool room.

Both my children attend the nursery. My older daughter started at nine months old and she'll be off to school in September after four years in the care of Sycamore House! We chose Sycamore because of the curiosity approach, the home-from-home, comforting feel of the house, the activities and, most of all, we could see how much the staff cared for the children. Their child-led creative approach has allowed both our children to blossom into confident, happy, secure and well-loved little girls. Their key-people are so unbelievably caring and invested in their happiness, well-being and learning. But, they have wonderful relationships with all of the staff. We've felt very lucky to end up with such fantastic childcare that makes the drop offs that bit easier! The car park is a bit tricky at busy times, but all of the parents are understanding of each other. We love the nursery and would recommend to anyone looking for a good nursery in Bishop's Stortford.

Sycamore nursery is one of the best nurseries in the area. My granddaughter loves going and chatting about all the things she has done in the day. The staff are second to none for the care and attention my granddaughter has recieved. Her development has come along in leaps and bounds. Well done to the staff.

Enrolling our son in Sycamore House is one of the best things we have ever done. He has gone from being a shy, nervous little boy to a confident, bubbly toddler, and I credit much of that change to the amazing staff at Sycamore House. I get the feeling that the staff here really care about him, and I think he can feel that too. It's a warm, friendly place full of wonderful practitioners who truly care for the children.

My son has been in the nursery for the past two years now, and the support he had throughout this time was amazing! He’s heading to reception in September, and I believe he will be ready for this next transition! He created great friendships that hopefully will carry on in school, and we will definitely miss everyone from Sycamore!

Our son has been attending Sycamore House nursery for the past 18 months, and so far, the experience has been very positive. The staff have consistently ensured our son's needs have been attended to, and they've done a great job working on all the different aspects of his development. The nursery itself is a decent size with a good garden at the back and conveniently located close to the town centre. Parking is adequate but can get a bit cramped during rush hour. Our son has been in the preschool area for over a year now, and he loves it! The preschool area has plenty of rooms and different activities to keep him engaged and busy. All the staff members are very friendly, and it's evident they take pride in the great work they do - I can tell they genuinely care about the kids, which is great! We're definitely going to send our youngest in when he's old enough. Highly recommended - keep up the good work, guys.

Only negative - the car park!

The staff are so caring towards our daughter, and she loves going to Sycamore House. She settled really quickly in the baby room with lots of lovely support from her key worker. We’re really happy with the education she is receiving and couldn’t recommend the nursery more.

A great choice. Since we had our view, we felt like this was the one for us, and we still feel the same way.
