Staff are caring and know their children well. My 2-year-old is happy to go into the nursery and speaks about his key workers and other children fondly at home. Communication between nursery and home is excellent and their policies are well thought through to ensure best practice throughout the nursery
settings. Staff set up a range of enriching activities each day, based on the children's current interests. Messy play, painting, mark making, role play, singing and outdoor time are just some of the activities on offer. Their child-first approach has led to excellent progress in terms of my child's speech, fine motor skills and emotional regulation.
The best thing I can say about Sycamore is that I would wholeheartedly recommend them to others.

I found it very difficult to collect our child from Sycamore on her last days. I was very sad to be taking her away from a place where she felt so happy, safe and loved. Having a place like that where our child could go when we could not look after her has been a huge comfort for us over the past 2
years. All the staff at Sycamore have been amazing and have helped our child to develop into the little lady we are so proud of - thank you all. The most special thanks must go to Becky, who has been such a special part of our child's life and has helped to shape her into a confident, bold and loving little girl. I am sure she does not realise how grateful we are for her, and her relationship with our child. Our child constantly surprises us with her resilience and with so much change she is still bossing us around! She has done well over the first few days of her new nursery, but it is no Sycamore. If it takes a village to raise a child, then Sycamore has been our child's village.

Our child has been with Sycamore for over 2 years. I have to say that the level of care shown to them was absolutely amazing. My child has been able to form really strong bonds with key workers and other staff members and we feel like a part of the family. They have grown from strength to strength and

Everyone is so welcoming and personable at Sycamore House, given we only attend once a week I'm amazed how everyone still knows both our girls' names and makes a real effort with them, you can tell they really care about all of the children. The staff work really hard to make the nursery a nice environment
and support the children to grow through the curiosity approach. I can see a real difference in our eldest who has progressed from the baby room to the preschool room; the staff have helped to develop her confidence and support her in forming and building friendships.

Our son enjoyed his two years at Sycamore House. We liked that there was a focus on 'natural' play materials as part of the 'curiosity approach' rather than lots of plastic toys, screens etc. Communication was good if there were any issues. He enjoyed the food. Staff were kind and caring.

Our daughter has attended Sycamore since she was 10 months old. She quickly settled and made strong bonds with the team - as she was my first I felt like I was leaving my most precious possession in the hands of a stranger but they were so supportive. I straight away noticed the positive experience
the nursery had on her, supporting her development and helping her become independent. Our son has now started and we're seeing the same positive development, he's so confident and sociable, they both love it. The staff are wonderful and attentive, they love the children and are constantly setting up fun activities. The garden is a really big space with lots to do and uncover - the children really get to explore and I love that they use more real-life and natural open-ended objects for play! It's with a heavy heart that my daughter leaves for school - I know she is more than ready but she's had such a positive experience at Sycamore and made some lovely friends, we will miss the team too.

Both our children have loved going to Scyamore House. The staff are very friendly and it feels like they know and understand our children. There is plenty there to keep them engaged and happy and, as a family, we have felt supported in our journey, from baby room up to preschool room.

Both my children attend the nursery. My older daughter started at nine months old and she'll be off to school in September after four years in the care of Sycamore House! We chose Sycamore because of the curiosity approach, the home-from-home, comforting feel of the house, the activities and, most of
all, we could see how much the staff cared for the children. Their child-led creative approach has allowed both our children to blossom into confident, happy, secure and well-loved little girls. Their key-people are so unbelievably caring and invested in their happiness, well-being and learning. But, they have wonderful relationships with all of the staff. We've felt very lucky to end up with such fantastic childcare that makes the drop offs that bit easier! The car park is a bit tricky at busy times, but all of the parents are understanding of each other. We love the nursery and would recommend to anyone looking for a good nursery in Bishop's Stortford.

Sycamore nursery is one of the best nurseries in the area. My granddaughter loves going and chatting about all the things she has done in the day. Enrolling our son in Sycamore House is one of the best things we have ever done. He has gone from being a shy, nervous little boy to a confident, bubbly toddler, and I credit much of that change to the amazing staff at Sycamore House. I get the feeling that the staff here really care about him, and
I think he can feel that too. It's a warm, friendly place full of wonderful practitioners who truly care for the children.

Our son has been attending Sycamore House nursery for the past 18 months, and so far, the experience has been very positive. The staff have consistently ensured our son's needs have been attended to, and they've done a great job working on all the different aspects of his development. The nursery itself
is a decent size with a good garden at the back and conveniently located close to the town centre. Parking is adequate but can get a bit cramped during rush hour. Our son has been in the preschool area for over a year now, and he loves it! The preschool area has plenty of rooms and different activities to keep him engaged and busy. All the staff members are very friendly, and it's evident they take pride in the great work they do - I can tell they genuinely care about the kids, which is great! We're definitely going to send our youngest in when he's old enough. Highly recommended - keep up the good work, guys.

You can tell from the very first tour of the nursery that the staff are very passionate about the children and their development.
My daughter has been going for a year now, and although she still cries at drop-off, she soon calms down, and I receive regular pictures and videos of her having the best
time. The activities shown in the updates are always different, fun and focused on development. My daughter is very shy around other children and likes to have one adult who she then will cling to. The nursery has been very good with ensuring that she has had one lady as her key person from the start. This lady is just brilliant, and you can tell at every handover on collection that she knows everything about the day my daughter has spent there. My daughter is growing in confidence and is calmer being left with the other staff members. All the staff are amazing and go above and beyond.
The menu is also great, and my daughter always eats well there.
Only negative - the car park!

The staff are so caring towards our daughter, and she loves going to Sycamore House. She settled really quickly in the baby room with lots of lovely support from her key worker. We’re really happy with the education she is receiving and couldn’t recommend the nursery more.

My son has been in Sycamore House since he was one year old, and he progressed so well with the wonderful staff.
He loves every activity, and he is cuddled when he needs it, and as a mom, I am so happy that he gets the affection he needs on a daily basis to help his emotional development.
The team
works with us, the parents, really well, and they do all they can for the children to develop.
Cannot recommend the nursery enough!
A great choice. Since we had our view, we felt like this was the one for us, and we still feel the same way.

Our son has been attending the Sycamore House Day Nursery for almost a year now. Through this time, we have been impressed by how carrying, professional and welcoming all the staff have been. Staff always work extremely hard to ensure children have stimulating, joyful as well as safe times at their
nursery.
The staff ensure children are at the heart of the nursery, creates personalised plans to support children's development, seeks advice and guidance from parents on what special interest children have, and makes sure activities are tailored around it. As parents, we receive daily updates on our little one's time at nursery, as well as developmental review updates with a guide on how else we can support our little one's progress.
We have seen great progress in our son's development since he started attending the nursery, and we would strongly recommend it to any parent looking for a safe, developing and happy place for their little one.

The staff at Sycamore House Day Nursery have been wonderful to both of my children. My son, who is now six, still insists on picking up his sister from nursery so he can see the staff. They treated my children with so much love and care, and they both love it there. They always communicate any concerns
and are willing to work together to rectify them. I really love this nursery and would definitely recommend it.

My daughter's experience at the nursery so far has been wonderful, and the staff have been very thoughtful and reassuring, from her settling-in sessions to now having regular updates, planning and photos of how she is getting on, which are lovely to share with the rest of the family! Management is extremely
welcoming and always available to answer questions.
I am confident her curiosity and inquisitive nature are being nurtured by the environment's plentiful indoor and outdoor nature-based resources combined with staff who are engaging and positive.
The food is all provided and has catered for my daughter individually while she is weaning which has provided great peace of mind.

My name is Kerry Braulik, and I am the Nursery Manager at Sycamore House Day Nursery in Bishop’s Stortford.


With nearly 20 years of experience in childcare, I am deeply passionate about early childhood education. I am committed to providing the best possible support to help young children reach their full potential, grow, and thrive in a nurturing environment.


Throughout my career in Early Years, I have worked in various settings, including teaching and assessing apprentices in early years education. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years, and a Level 3 Diploma in Child Psychology, and have recently completed my Level 3 Diploma in Mentoring. I continuously update my training and collaborate closely with our Early Years Advisory team.


It is a great honour to lead the dedicated and wonderful team at Sycamore House.

Hello! My name is Sophie, I am the deputy manager at Sycamore House. I am a friendly, approachable and energetic person who enjoys supporting and caring for children of all ages. I love letting children's passions and interests grow, helping them in all areas of their development.


We create a caring and relaxed atmosphere here at Sycamore where friendships are established with both the children and their families, ultimately allowing them to be comfortable and feel like they are at a home away from home.
