My daughter has only just started in the Preschool Hub at the start of April but the transition has gone so smoothly. The trials went very well and my daughter went in on her first day happy, no tears and there hasn't been a day she hasn't wanted to go in. The team have been amazingly supportive and her key person, in particular, has been a huge support. The Preschool Hub has been set up beautifully, with all their favourite toys and we have had some lovely updates of what they have been up to on the app. The lovely garden has also been a big part of why my daughter loves her new setting. Couldn’t be happier that my child goes to this nursery. The team is really friendly and my daughter seems to be thriving there. Like many, my daughter loves the outdoors, so the space they have is invaluable and I love that they facilitate forest school activities and lots of water play. Her key person is wonderful and I feel that she does really ‘get’ my daughter and is fab at tending to her needs. My grandson has been with you for 18 months. He is a lovely boy and has learned how to share his toys and play with other children and has learned to do things on his own if he wants to. He has been learning about plants and how to grow them and comes home and tells me and always checks on the things we have at home, like sunflower seeds, broad beans and strawberries and, even, on our caterpillars that are growing into butterflies. He has done so well in his time, so far, with the Otterbourne Nursery. I can't praise this nursery enough for what they have done for his development. Thank you.

This nursery is really fantastic. The staff are wonderful, and very caring. They really look after the children and our daughter has great relationships with all the adults in her room, not just her key worker. We have another baby on the way and will not hesitate to send them to the same nursery.

I was lucky enough to grow up in sunny South Africa and emigrated to the UK in 2005 with my 3 children. I have always had a passion for developing others and helping them to learn and grow so I qualified as a teacher and worked in several teaching jobs as well as working as a Learning and Development Officer for a retail company. I have worked in a range of schools, and preschools and supported children with special needs over the past 20 years before going into childminding and eventually working in nursery settings.
After working for Yellow Dot in different positions, I became the Nursery Manager of our Otterbourne nursery in September 2018. I fell in love with Yellow Dot’s ethos and Froebelian principles, enabling the children to develop through real-life experiences, open-ended topics and interests, and links to the community. As a manager, I am lucky to have an enthusiastic team that creates a caring and nurturing environment for the children, helping them to develop in all areas of the EYFS. Music and singing are also an important part of our daily routine in the nursery - we enjoy singing and dancing to Boogie Mites, seasonal songs and nursery rhymes.

I feel very passionate about the attachment of children and how the Key Person approach works well to support the children when they first start with us.
