Sunbeams Nursery

I am very happy with the progress that my child has achieved since coming to nursery, my son is a very shy little boy and I've noticed how much his confidence has come out in him. My son has attended nursery for 3 years, there have been some hard times during this time but I do feel that the staff have kept me up to date and taken measures to make sure that my child is safe so I have no concerns about the safety of my child. I feel like the staff treat my child with the same care and respect as their own and my child never has a bad word to say about them, he comes home daily talking about one lady he absolutely adores everyone in the building. I don't have a bad word to say about any of the staff I met the new manager and I feel like it's a good turnover for the building. My child feels happy and safe in his environment I'm always kept up to date if there's something wrong and I'm more than pleased and confident to send my child here.

Very extraordinary nursery, and friendly staff, my daughter was very happy and impressed, I recommend to everyone, your children will be in good hands, they have very good programs for children, and interesting games.

Having spoken to a parent whose child was at this nursery to fairly recently (this week) I feel a sense of duty to share a true reflection of Sunbeams Nursery. This establishment is the definition of a problem nursery and I cannot stand by and allow people to send their child to an establishment which is not a safe place for children. The following issues are some of the many which we experienced within this setting. Rats, the nursery was infested with rats and by the sounds of it still is. Mass staff turnover to the point where it constantly has agency staff that have been known to bring out the wrong child on multiple occasions. There has also been an incident of safeguarding in regards to a child where the police were involved without the nursery disclosing to parents (my child was in the setting at the time and we were not informed. I found this out only today which has prompted me to post this). There have often been situations where raw food has been served to the children.

Do not second your do not send your child to Sunbeams if you want them to be well cared for in an open and honest setting. I have removed my child from here after 3 years after an array of concerns from a rat issue within the setting, rats infested the nursery and parents were not informed immediately. Children served up uncooked meat. The nursery is unable to open on a day-to-day basis due to unsafe staff-to-child ratios. Parents are notified to keep their child at home until more staff are found to cover. Poor / lack of management. Staff turnover here is insane, a mass exodus of staff after they all realised the ongoing issues. Staff are dishonest when confronted with these issues. The nursery is unkempt and run down. On multiple occasions, the wrong child was handed to the wrong parent. serious red flags here. Bewildered that they are still allowed to operate. (They do not publish the bad reviews so this is unlikely to get published too).

My daughter has been at Sunbeams since April 2023 and she has always been unsure of new people but she soon got used to the staff here. She is now very settled and is very happily to go. The staff are always very friendly and caring towards the children. I like how there is an app for communication and pictures of her time throughout the day so you can see what she is up to.

My little boy has attended Sunbeams for the last three years, and we truly can’t fault it. The staff are lovely, meals are nutritious and varied, communication is spot on and the children’s day to day activities are fun and engaging. Happy child, happy parents!

My daughter has been at Sunbeams since July of this year (2023). She was only 9 months when she started and it didn’t take long for her to get settled in. All the staff are lovely and I know she is well looked after during her stay. The most important thing for me is communication, this is given at Sunbeams. They keep parents updated with any changes in the nursery, they also post regularly on the internal app about what the children are getting up to. All staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you and your child! Thank you to everyone at Sunbeams!

My daughter has been full time at Sunbeams for two years almost. In that time I would say her social skills, confidence and independence have grown significantly. The staff are amazing, very friendly and creative with activities. My daughter speaks very highly of them!

I met with the new manager and deputy as a last resort to go through my concerns and lack of support and I can actually say there is only one other person I've ever met that shows the passion for early years and helping children, so it felt very refreshing to finally have management who are dedicated to their role. You have to be in it for the children and they are determined to turn it around and I believe they will. I'm looking forward to seeing some positive changes.

There have been lots of staff changes since my daughter has started nursery, however, this has not affected the care my daughter has received. There is now management structure in place, I hope this provides more observations completed and information provided regarding areas that we may need to support with.

My daughter's been at Sunbeams since being 1, she’s now in the preschool room, ready to graduate next summer. She’s had a brilliant experience at Sunbeams and tells me all about her day when she comes home, which sounds very exciting. The nursery workers have been great with her, as when she first started she use to cry every time I left her, but within a few minutes she was fine and they messaged me every morning to confirm and reassure she was absolutely fine and happy. My daughter's come on so much since starting nursery and Sunbeams is one of the main factors for this. The staff are great with her and communicate with me with all things I need to know and the new manager is great with all the things I’ve seen and read, what has and will be happening with the nursery. This is the second time I’ve used Sunbeams as my teenage son went years ago. We loved it then and I would use Sunbeams again and 100% recommend them.

My little girl has been going since she was 7 months old and she is now 3 and within the last few months of staff members leaving, new management taking over and hygiene issues I have never had so many negative complaints about this setting. I will be removing my child as soon as I have found another childcare setting for her.

We did some research and chose Sunbeams Nursery school for our daughter, we thought it would be a welcoming place both for her and for us parents, but that's not what happened. We followed all the guidelines for settling, but after one week of following all the guidelines stipulated by the nursery we were informed that my daughter was not ready, and they rejected her. My 2-year-old daughter was rejected from daycare for crying a lot and not interacting with other children. They said she wasn't ready yet. It was suggested that we put her in activities, but she already does 3 different activities a week. So they told us to wait a few months and try settling again. We were devastated. In the same week, we started settling into another daycare centre and on the third day she was no longer crying. I don't know what could have happened at Sunbeams because parents don't have access to the classroom but today I'm sure the problem wasn't my daughter.

We’re very happy with Sunbeams Nursery. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. My son loves going to this nursery. They keep the kids busy with creative activities every day, paying attention to each individual child’s interests and needs. The food served to the kids is fresh and healthy.

I cannot fault the nursery at all.

Sunbeams Nursery is a very nice nursery. My child likes this nursery very much. He misses this nursery. All the staff are very nice, caring, loving and supportive. Management of nursery is very nice. All facilities are excellent. My child's first language is not English, but all staff support him. Now he can speak and understand English very well. I will recommend to my friends and family. My son has been attending for just over a year now, a really pleasant experience. All staff are super helpful, friendly, and can’t do enough to help my little boy. I feel like he is looked after by them like he is one of their own. Lots of fun activities done daily, and photos can be seen on the app throughout the day.

Our child has been attending for a while. We were initially extremely happy with the nursery, and the staff in the room were fantastic. Although the care has remained excellent quality, the food has gone from curries, paella, chow mein etc to ham and cheese wraps, ham and cheese sandwiches and very bland repetitive food. That being said, the staff are phenomenal and go above and beyond what we would ever expect. The only other thing I would say if I was being picky is we used to love the daily updates and pictures we would receive on the app, but now they seem to be few and far between. Overall, we would highly recommend Sunbeams, and we are eternally grateful to the staff for all the work and effort they continue to put in with our child.

I can't thank the staff enough for everything they have done and continue to do for my little boy. Such a warm and welcoming environment with lovely, amazing staff!
