Children 1st Rosemary Lane Nursery School is a newly refurbished nursery building in a great city centre location in Lincoln. The setting is rated 'Good' by Ofsted (January 2022).

Children 1st carried out an extensive refurbishment to create a new nursery over three floors, complete with a huge outdoor space for children to enjoy. The nursery features a dedicated baby suite complete with its own outside space and innovate environments for children to enjoy.

Downstairs houses a large, well equipped indoor and outdoor space for two to five-year-olds, as shown in the photos.

All ages spend time in the large garden, with lots of resources for play and learning.

The team includes a nursery cook who prepares home cooked meals and caters for special dietary requirements.

Both of my sons have attended this nursery and I can not fault them. I walk for miles to get them here as I feel strongly that it is the best nursery in Lincoln and I want them to be happy, educated and treated well. The staff put in a lot of effort to meet every child's needs as well as giving them
the attention they need to ensure they have a strong bond. The nursery itself is brilliant, it has had a lot of work done on it and looks amazing, there's always plenty for your child to do and a big space to do so. It's beautiful and has been done to a high standard. My opinion of this nursery is very high, I recommend them all the time and I really do think they are amazing.

My boys are so happy in Nursery. They come home singing nursery rhymes they’ve learnt during the day.


They have settled in really well after lockdown and are used to the new regime.


I would have no problem recommending the Nursery to anyone interested in sending their child to a Nursery.


Everything

that is taught at home is followed on by the Nursery during the day.

Our girls joined the nursery at 11 months and settled in really quickly. They always have a great time and the staff are really invested in their welfare and development. The food is great and they always eat good meals, I am often jealous when I hear what they have been eating. We would highly recommend

Our 19-month-old son has been attending the nursery for 3 months now. The staff were so lovely and caring whilst he was settling in. I was worried about leaving him with strangers and him not getting the cuddles and attention he is used to at home but the staff were great and they took the time to give
him one on one attention and cuddles when he needed it. Now we can see how much he enjoys coming to nursery and seeing the staff and it's a big weight from our minds whilst we go to work. He's becoming much more sociable with other children since starting nursery and he's developing really well with the careful guidance and encouragement of the staff. The facilities are outstanding, our son can't wait to make use of the fantastic outdoor play area when he moves to the downstairs rooms. It's also great to know that he is eating healthy home-cooked food which is catered to his vegetarian diet - I just wish I knew how the staff get him to eat it all!

We find the manager and staff, professional yet with a human touch. Our daughter settled in quickly when she started last year and she smiles and laughs when we arrive at the nursery. We know she loves it here. The daily journal is filled promptly and the food/menu is varied and balanced. The play area
is gorgeous and our older daughter did a couple of days here during the school holidays at their holiday club and she enjoyed it.

I am really happy about nursery. From the first day, we felt welcomed. Staff are friendly and helpful.

My daughter has recently started here and she loves it askes to go even when it's not her day to go. Staff are lovely and the choices of what the children can do are amazing it's the best nursery my child has ever gone to. Thank goodness we found it !
Don't let the fact it's on a main road put you
off there's parking round the back and that's how your child enters too so there not near any busy traffic

This is an excellent environment for children to learn, play and grow.


I have had one child go through every room, starting as a baby and now at school with my second child starting that journey now.


The staff & management are hard working, the structure that Children's First put into the day

is very good, the environment is secure and the facilities have recently gone from adequate to world class as a result of the recent refurbishment (90% completed at the time of writing, just the garden to finish).


Additionally, they have managed to be flexible enough for us to chop and change nursery/pre-school days as shifts and working patterns change which is essential to us.

I have custody of my grandsons, the youngest has been at Children 1st nursery for nearly two years now, I can honestly say I've never had any problems at all. The staff are all fantastic and the building is going to be amazing once all the work has been completed!

Our daughter has been attending Childrens 1st @ Monks Road since January 2017. She was only 6 months old when she started.
The care given by the wonderful staff and management team along with the encouragement to learn and discover, has been second to none.
We are very happy and as parents, we are
always at ease when our daughter attends her nursery.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, whether it be calling up to check that she is alright to changing hours around and sorting queries, to having chats with the dedicated staff about all kinds of things.
Importantly we know our daughter is cared for.
The refurbishment looks absolutely fantastic. The staff have done a wonderful job coordinating this project ensuring minimum distribution to the children.

My child has loved his time at Children 1st @ Monks Road so far. When he first started going, it was the first time he’d been away from home without a family member so I was extremely nervous (more so than him!) but the staff at Children 1st @ Monks Road made me feel confident that he would have a good
time and he looked after well.
He has grown in confidence and plays with other children so nicely now. I am extremely happy with the service we receive and I love the nursery and all of the ladies that work there.

I am very pleased having my son in this nursery. He is well cared for and he has taken a shine to his key member as well as the other staff around him. The staff are attentive, kind and energetic.
There is a great communication between the nursery and parents and if ever a problem occurred I know
it would be well dealt with.
They are undergoing a revamp and the nursery is going to look incredible once it’s done, which will allow much more space for the children, as well as bigger room for them to improve and develop.

Hello, I’m Louisa, the Nursery Manager at Rosemary Lane. I’ve worked in Early Years for over 20 years, and my journey began as a newly qualified practitioner after completing my training at Lincoln College. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of developing my career within Children 1st, and for more than a decade now, I’ve proudly led the wonderful team here at Rosemary Lane.


One of the things I love most about our nursery is the sense of community we’ve created and our fantastic outdoor space — a real hidden gem for an inner-city setting. It’s a joy to welcome new families, showing them around and sharing the exciting experiences we offer the children every day.


I’m incredibly proud of my team; they’re passionate, nurturing, and committed to providing a safe, stimulating environment where children can thrive. I’d be delighted to show you around our nursery and talk about how we can support your child on their early years journey.
