Children 1st Rosemary Lane Nursery School is a newly refurbished nursery building in a great city centre location in Lincoln. The setting is rated 'Good' by Ofsted (January 2022).

Children 1st carried out an extensive refurbishment to create a new nursery over three floors, complete with a huge outdoor space for children to enjoy. The nursery features a dedicated baby suite complete with its own outside space and innovate environments for children to enjoy.

Downstairs houses a large, well equipped indoor and outdoor space for two to five-year-olds, as shown in the photos.

All ages spend time in the large garden, with lots of resources for play and learning.

The team includes a nursery cook who prepares home cooked meals and caters for special dietary requirements.

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff are so kind and friendly; whenever you walk into the building everyone smiles at you and greets your child, no matter what room they work in. They offer an NHS discount which was a great incentive. I feel so safe and at peace with leaving my child in their care.

Both my children have attended this nursery and have always been so happy and well looked after. The staff are lovely and helpful and both my girls love them, my eldest likes to come and pick her little sister up when she can just so she can say hi to the staff!

My daughter has settled in well in the Peter Rabbit room. The staff are all welcoming of her and quick to settle her when she first comes in and are very informative about how her day has been, what she has eaten, how long she has slept, the activities she has done, etc. Overall a very good experience
with this nursery.

Everyone at Children 1st Rosemary Lane is brilliant, supportive and seems to enjoy what they do. My 6 month old, exclusively breastfed was refused by a childminder just after two sessions and it was a huge blow. It gave me serious concerns over whether my boy would ever settle in a childcare setting
but since the first time we visited this nursery, everything changed. The staff was kind, understanding and empathetic to our situation and within one month, my son settled in and I joined work. They are very open about issues with children if any and they provide due support and advice if asked. They also keep a close eye on the developmental milestones and make sure to give a full report on what the child has eaten and how much he has slept.
Both ladies are brilliant managers, always trying their best to help if you need an extra session on an urgent basis or if you need to change something and each one of the staff members in the baby room is magic! Totally recommend it!

The best nursery in Lincoln! My first son has used this setting and my second son just started 2 months ago. Very Good staff, friendly, everything perfect and extremely organized, no issues at all. I recommend it to everyone.

We find that our child loves his nursery, they all know him by name and he’s so happy to be there. He’s well looked after and we feel they genuinely care about our child. We’re blown away by the facilities and he enjoys all his meals and sleeps really well there - which means he’s happy and relaxed.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since September 2023. Amazing staff 10/10 and their attention to teaching young children is outstanding which is also 10/10. Warm welcome at reception and the nursery is always clean for our little ones to be on the floor. The staff in the baby room always
keep us updated on my daughter’s day and give me a breakdown of her day when I go and collect her. They offer a wide variety of foods.
All the staff really do play an important part in this nursery and it really does pay off with how well it is run day to day.
Definitely a 10 out of 10 from us!

Such an amazing nursery, great staff, great facilities. My son has been going here for a year at the end of this month and I've never had a problem. The staff are so helpful, caring and so professional.
I know my son is going to have the best day each time he is at nursery.
My son moved up to early
years in April and they have already started to introduce a transition to ensure this is a smooth process for him.

I was nervous when my maternity ended about leaving my son but I soon realised at Rosemary Lane there was no need to worry. He loves it and is so happy with everything you do and all of the facilities. All of the staff are incredible, always positive, friendly and supportive. I love reading what he
has done in the diary and the observations submitted with pictures of his achievements. I can't stress enough how at ease it has made me, it really is a safe and nurturing place. Highly recommend everywhere this is the nursery to be at. Thank you to all the staff who do incredible work.

Couldn't be prouder of this nursery. We went from a nursery that was incapable of looking after my son, who spent 6 out of 7 months being poorly, to us transferring to Rosemary Lane and constant colds and viruses going away instantly. He was speaking almost fluently within a month, counting numbers,
singing songs, walking in excited and other than a couple accidents which happen with any kids, he's been poorly twice in almost two years we have now been there. The staff, the girls and the women are incredible. They care for those kids like their own and more. Any issues, they will help and not only walk an extra mile but across the globe to make sure not only the kids are doing well but anxious mommas too. When I first visited the nursery after seeing 6 or 7 others, we instantly fell in love with it and registered straight away. The space they have both indoors and outdoors is brilliant. I couldn't thank this nursery enough.

Rosemary Lane is an amazing nursery, they've provided a lovely, safe and nurturing space for our daughter. The facilities are incredible - both inside and out and really well looked after.
Our child was at a different nursery previously that we were happy with, but even still Rosemary Lane has far
surpassed our previous experience. She settled in really well and loves her time here, often coming home and chatting about her day and what she's learnt.
The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful, putting a lot of care and attention into life at the nursery - including a well thought out nativity and helpful advice on applying for schools.

One of the staff members is my daughter's caseworker thing, but honestly she's amazing (as is everyone in general)! We had our daughter's nativity scene today, I didn't expect anything like that to be put on - I'm in a good way floored by the service provided. Thank you so much for the time and effort

The nursery staff are very friendly and skilled in their work, my child always comes home very happy and sometimes doesn’t even want to come home so soon and wants to stay a bit longer because he has such fun at the nursery with friends and staff.

Hello, I’m Louisa, the Nursery Manager at Rosemary Lane. I’ve worked in Early Years for over 20 years, and my journey began as a newly qualified practitioner after completing my training at Lincoln College. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of developing my career within Children 1st, and for more than a decade now, I’ve proudly led the wonderful team here at Rosemary Lane.


One of the things I love most about our nursery is the sense of community we’ve created and our fantastic outdoor space — a real hidden gem for an inner-city setting. It’s a joy to welcome new families, showing them around and sharing the exciting experiences we offer the children every day.


I’m incredibly proud of my team; they’re passionate, nurturing, and committed to providing a safe, stimulating environment where children can thrive. I’d be delighted to show you around our nursery and talk about how we can support your child on their early years journey.
