New Moon Nursery is a privately owned nursery located in Castleford, conveniently located near junction 32 off the M62, and easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

The nursery is owned by a mother and daughter, one an early years teacher with over 16 years' experience teaching, and the other a Speech and Language Therapist Specialising in early years children.

New Moon is a small, homely nursery situated in a beautiful detached house, which also has a fantastic outdoor learning environment.

The practitioners are warm, caring and nurturing and provide an excellent standard of care for all children. Learning through high quality play and interaction is high on the agenda, in order to ensure that all children are progressing within their development.

All practitioners are fully qualified and are Paediatric First Aid trained. Continued professional development is very important to ensure that the quality of care and teaching is maintained at a excellent standard.

The nursery welcomes prospective parents to arrange a visit by phone or email.

We feel so happy leaving our son at New Moon, we're always greeted with a welcoming smiling face and he is always happy to stay. When we ask him 'what was fun at nursery today?' his reply is always 'everything was fun!'. He has loved it from day one. Everyone who works there make it such a lovely environment
to be in with their cheerfulness and enthusiasm. He has come on in leaps and bounds and we are confident that he will be well prepared for school. Can't recommend New Moon enough!!

New Moon is a wonderful setting. My child has so much fun here. All the staff are welcoming and caring and take pride in their work. My child has built lovely relationships with staff. They have enabled him to develop in all areas of learning. My child has made some lovely friendships with children
in the setting. The resources in the nursery are of a high standard and keep children engaged. There is a wide variety of healthy meals on the menu. My child enjoys the meals. My child is always busy here and always leaves with a smile. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My son attends New Moon and he absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing, they are very helpful and I feel at ease that while I’m at work, my child is being cared for very well and he’s having fun with all his friends.

My little girl joined New Moon in February of this year (2018) after not settling well at her previous childminders. The staff at New Moon are AMAZING, so friendly and warm and always so inviting. My little girl is now two and a half and has come on in leaps and bounds, she loves all the girls at New
Moon with some who are very special to her and she talks a lot about them at home. She attends 2 days a week and thinks she is just going to one of the practitioner's houses, not nursery, she is so comfortable there! The fees are ever so slightly more than the childminder I previously used but I would pay ten times more here knowing how happy she is and how cared for she is when there and they do so much for them, days out, events and always planning something to learn more about. This is a fabulous nursery and it is lovely to be able to praise them for all the hard work they do and everything they do for the children.

My little boy joined New Moon in July 2018. He was 6 and a half months old.
The staff at New Moon have been amazing. They have made my return to work that little bit easier, especially knowing my little boy loves it.
They receive a wide variety of lovely home cook food, which has meant my son loves
to try new food. The staff are always on hand to answer any queries. They also work alongside you to mirror what you are developing at home with your child.
I couldn’t recommend them enough. It truly is a home from home.

My son started New Moon Nursery Specialist Day Care at 9 months old in 2017. Leaving him in other peoples care is so difficult, but at New Moon, it is like leaving him with relatives. The warm, homely atmosphere, friendly faces and love they give to my little boy, makes me feel confident when dropping
him off. In fact, I know he is gaining new skills, making friends and having a great time. Fantastic nursery, fantastic staff. My son loves it!

I love sending my little boy to this nursery, the staff are all really pleasant and take a real interest in the children that are in their care. New Moon Nursery have addressed some issues with my little boy and have been amazing at reassuring me as a parent, referred us to the correct people and have
really gone above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely ladies that work here and put there all into looking after the children.

This nursery is the best around, our little girl has come on so much with all the fun and learning that this nursery brings. The staff are amazing and it feels like it’s not just a job for the staff, it’s like they're all a little family with all the children. The bond between the staff and all the

All my three children have been to this nursery and from day one I have been more than happy to leave them in the care of these amazing staff. The day to day running of the nursery is outstanding. The staff care for the children like they are their own and nothing is too much to ask. I would recommend

My daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery. I moved her to New Moon earlier this year from a nursery where she constantly cried and never settled. New Moon has totally changed that, she settled instantly and no tears at all. She always comes home and says she has enjoyed her days at nursery and
loves her friends and the staff. Cannot fault them at all! Amazing place.

This is a brilliant nursery, my little boy started there in September and has come along loads. They arrange fun things for the children to do inside and outside of the nursery. I would highly recommend to anyone.

My daughter has been attending New Moon Nursery since she was 5 months old and she is now 2. I could not be happier that I picked New Moon Nursery for her to attend. The nursery is so warming and welcoming and always feels like a safe and comfortable place to be in. The staff are attentive and always
communicate perfectly what type of day she’s had and what activities she has been involved in. My daughter always comes home telling me what she’s done that day, who with and sings songs that she’s learnt whilst being there. She has recently been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and I could not have felt more supported by the nursery. They have undergone everything necessary and have quickly learnt and adapted to my daughter's new needs, so much so that my daughter invested her trust in them after only two days regarding administrating her insulin. A fantastic nursery in which I would recommend to everybody!

This nursery is amazing and its all down to the amazing women who work there. My little boy absolutely loves this place.
I gave birth to my second child in September and my 3yr old was very protective and several weeks that followed were the only days he didn't want to go. He would kick and scream.
The ladies were extremely understanding and helpful. It was very difficult for me to leave him when he was so upset but all the ladies helped not only my son but me.

After searching long and hard for the perfect Nursery I came across New Moon. My daughter is so happy and comfortable around all of the staff and it really makes me feel relaxed when I have to leave her. She gets excited about going and sometimes doesn’t want to come home. New Moon is a warm, friendly and welcoming nursery. Both my boys absolutely love spending time there. I feel extremely confident going to work on a morning knowing they are having great fun whilst learning new things. All the ladies at New Moon do a brilliant job.

New Moon Nursery are trustworthy and nurturing! My son had been with new moon 2 years from being a baby and I have never had any issues regarding his care. The things he has learnt are amazing and each of his key workers has been equally as caring and loving.

We provide high-quality daycare for children aged 0-5 years. Our ethos is to provide a homely environment so your child feels at home from the start of their journey with us.


I have worked at New Moon since it opened in 2010. I became the Nursery Manager in 2014, where I developed my knowledge in child care and became qualified to level 5.


I have a passion for working with children and adore being the Manager at New Moon, it gives me the opportunity to see children grow and thrive within our environment, learning and developing to the best of their individual ability.


Our children are our future and they require a calm, loving and nurturing environment with opportunities to learn and as many varied experiences that we can provide for them in order to secure their foundations in their Early Years.

Working with children has always been my life goal since leaving school in 1998. I went straight on to get my level 3 qualification and have always worked with children ever since. In 2014 I moved from the Midlands to West Yorkshire and found my forever Nursery... New Moon. I started out as a Nursery Nurse and worked my way up to being Deputy Manager. This is the position I adore the most it has allowed me to get to know all the children from all the rooms rather than being based in just one room. This position has also allowed me to be creative and help implement a vision of how we want our setting to be and the ethos we have for each and every child that we care for.
