New Moon Nursery is a privately owned nursery located in Castleford, conveniently located near junction 32 off the M62, and easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

New Moon Nurseries Ltd is a family run company, the director was once a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in Early Years; and has over 16 years experience of being a director of the company. New Moon Nurseries Ltd also has another highly recommended nursery based in Warmfield.

The Nursery manager is a level 5 Qualified practitioner with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Early Years. She has managed the Castleford nursery for over 14 years.
New Moon is a small, homely nursery situated in a beautiful detached house, which also has a fantastic outdoor learning environment.

The practitioners are warm, caring and nurturing and provide an excellent standard of care for all children. Learning through high quality play and interaction is high on the agenda, in order to ensure that all children are progressing within their development.

All practitioners are fully qualified and are Paediatric First Aid trained. Continued professional development is very important to ensure that the quality of care and teaching is maintained at a excellent standard.

The nursery welcomes prospective parents to arrange a visit by phone or email.

What a lovely nursery, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. My little boys are happy to walk into nursery and they always leave with smiles on their faces. I really like the little extra things they do such as a Mother’s Day celebration or an open day for grandparents. The feedback you receive is
great and it’s always lovely to know what the children are busy with.

My son had previously attended a childminder, however, after the first lockdown, we decided that we would require more hours and for our son to have more of a teaching approach as well as play.
We are delighted with how he has progressed at New Moon Nursery, he is more confident talking more and enjoys
his time there. My husband and I are thrilled.
All the staff are lovely!

My son loves coming to nursery. He is constantly singing all the songs he sings at nursery and talking about his friends and the staff and what he has been doing. The staff are very friendly.
I love seeing what my son has been doing at nursery through the app.

Always been impressed with New Moon, my son has come on leaps with the fantastic staff you have.

My son has been going since September 2020, it's an amazing place, the staff are lovely, it's a perfect setting. My son loves going, he has come on with his talking and development since he has been going here. I would recommend this nursery to everyone who's got children.

Our daughter has been attending New Moon Nursery for nearly 2 years now, she goes 3 full days a week and loves it, we never have any trouble with getting her to go in, she's always happy to go. Her day is varied and she's able to do activities independently if she chooses to or with her bubble. Since
Covid restrictions began New Moon management and staff have handled everything so well, we're kept well informed and feel our daughter is in safe hands.
Meals are varied and choice is great.
She's always greeted with a smile every morning and I feel she is genuinely cared about by the staff as are all the children.
The staff are always friendly and helpful, and we are kept up to date with her development and learning.
We are so glad we made the decision to send her to New Moon and would recommend it to all parents.

My son started attending New Moon Nursery in August 2020. He absolutely loves it here. The staff have been amazing and have worked tirelessly to ensure the children are safe during the pandemic. My son loves the staff who look after him and has bonded with them so well. I love receiving the updates
and photos of him enjoying his day at nursery. It’s extremely reassuring and makes me so happy to see him having lots of fun.

Wonderful nursery, beautifully kept and all kind, caring staff. The outside area is fantastic too. The children receive great enrichment and thrive in the nursery!
The food is always suitable and smells delicious, I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

I absolutely love sending my daughter to this nursery.
The staff are wonderful, they are constantly interacting with the children to develop new skills and learn.
Food is healthy, warm and homemade.
The app they use is great for seeing updates of how your child's day has been.
I was very nervous
of my daughter starting as she was almost 8 months old and despite being upset and taking a while to settle, the staff were very patient and understanding.

My little girl has only been going to this nursery for about 4 months and she's come on loads! Her confidence, appetite and speech have improved massively. She was so shy and anxious at first but now she walks in herself and walks out with a big smile on her face, she's even made new friends. I'd 100
per cent recommend this nursery to others, they're very welcoming and really nice, they always answer every question I have. They send you pictures and have an app so you can see how your child is developing which I think is great!

My little boy who is 3 years old started this nursery 2 weeks ago now and he loves it, all the staff are very friendly and great with the children. I will 100% get my other little boy in when we want to get him in nursery.

My son attended this setting when he was younger, and now my daughter is currently attending. Both children have thrived since being with New Moon Nursery. It is like a second family to them, the care is second to none, communication is outstanding, and the children always come home happy with lots
of stories to tell about their day. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

Since returning from lockdown my little girl has settled straight back into the nursery, she loves all the different activities that they have for them to play with. Also, the warm and friendly environment they provide makes her feel safe and able to enjoy her day. Staff are so friendly and welcoming
and will help you with any problem you come across. I love the app that they also use as it allows me to see all the different things she's been up to while there and how she is progressing, as well as how she's done with her meals. New Moon Nursery is definitely the nursery to choose in Castleford.

My nephews currently attend New Moon Nursery. They both absolutely love their days there; it's a struggle to get them out the door when I pick them up as they want to stay. The staff are extremely friendly, caring and enthusiastic about contributing to the children's development. In addition, the environment
is amazing, with such a home-like feel and wonderful facilities. I couldn't recommend New Moon highly enough. Keep up the amazing work girls.

My child has been attending New Moon Nursery for 2 years and I can honestly say that she absolutely loves it. I am 100% confident in the staff here, they really do go above and beyond to provide an excellent, calm and homely learning environment. I couldn't imagine anywhere better than this and I will
be truly saddened when its time to leave for full-time school.

After a pretty bad experience in the past with our son, we were very wary of private nurseries, we shouldn't have worried! Amazing staff and home from home environment. My daughter had loved her time here. She has learnt so much, always looks forward to going. Eats things there she won't eat at home
(compliments to the chef!) and had made so many lovely friends.

My daughter started here in January and comes three days a week and she was nervous and upset at first as with any child when comes to change. She has always been fussed after and welcomed and she now loves it. She has a key worker who she talks about constantly at home and now asks on a Monday and
Tuesday when she's at home if she can go big girls nursery.
They have always got new things on and the food also is really good. My daughter now eats things she would never have even tried before.
I couldn't be happier than I am with my choice of nursery and would recommend to all.
Also to add they do update the app daily with meals, sleep times, nappy changes, observations and this is something me and my daughter look at together each night while she tells me about what she's done.

My nephew loves this nursery. Sometimes I drop him off on behalf of my sister and I can see that him and his friends really enjoy attending New Moon Nursery. The staff are very welcoming to all and have created a positive environment for the children.

We provide high-quality daycare for children aged 0-5 years. Our ethos is to provide a homely environment, so your child feels at home from the start of their journey with us.


I have worked at New Moon since it opened in 2010. I became the Nursery Manager in 2014, where I developed my knowledge in child care and became qualified to level 5.


I have a passion for working with children and adore being the Manager at New Moon, which allows me to see children grow and thrive within our environment, learning and developing to the best of their individual ability.


Our children are our future, and they require a calm, loving and nurturing environment with opportunities to learn and as many varied experiences that we can provide for them in order to secure their foundations in their Early Years.

Working with children has always been my life goal since leaving school in 1998. I went straight on to get my level 3 qualification and have always worked with children ever since. In 2014 I moved from the Midlands to West Yorkshire and found my forever Nursery... New Moon. I started out as a Nursery Nurse and worked my way up to being Deputy Manager. This is the position I adore the most it has allowed me to get to know all the children from all the rooms rather than being based in just one room. This position has also allowed me to be creative and help implement a vision of how we want our setting to be and the ethos we have for each and every child that we care for.
