New Moon Nursery is a privately owned nursery located in Castleford, conveniently located near junction 32 off the M62, and easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

The nursery is owned by a mother and daughter, one an early years teacher with over 16 years' experience teaching, and the other a Speech and Language Therapist Specialising in early years children.

New Moon is a small, homely nursery situated in a beautiful detached house, which also has a fantastic outdoor learning environment.

The practitioners are warm, caring and nurturing and provide an excellent standard of care for all children. Learning through high quality play and interaction is high on the agenda, in order to ensure that all children are progressing within their development.

All practitioners are fully qualified and are Paediatric First Aid trained. Continued professional development is very important to ensure that the quality of care and teaching is maintained at a excellent standard.

My little one has been attending New Moon for a month and she loves it, the staff are amazing especially their cook who has gone the extra mile to cater for my little one's allergies to make sure she has a well-balanced, safe meal.
The staff all go the extra mile to make the nursery feel like home
from home, with all the personal touches and I know my little one is happy and engaged and well looked after. I would recommend New Moon to anyone.

I can't thank the ladies enough at New Moon Nursery! My son has been going to nursery here since easter 2016. We decided to send him to a private nursery as he has communication problems and the staff to child ratio is smaller than a school nursery. They have helped him develop so much and have been
very supportive in helping him progress. This time last year, he wouldn't communicate at all and was very shy and withdrawn. Now he is confident, affectionate and is making progress with his communication. He loves all the girls at New Moon and is always eager to get inside and reluctant to leave when I pick him up. Massive thanks to all the girls and special thanks to the owner and his key worker for all their help getting him on track. This nursery is definitely one in a million and I'm so glad he has another year here still.

My daughter absolutely loves New Moon! She can't wait to tell me what she's done every day and has built little friendships with some other children already. She adores all of the ladies that look after her as do we and we have to drag her away at home time because she'd happily stay longer with all

New Moon is a first class Nursery. The staff are all incredible and our little boy loves every minute of his time there. He always learns something new and has plenty of opportunities to play inside and out. He is particularly fond of his key worker and he looks forward to seeing her every morning.
Highly recommend this nursery.

My son goes to this nursery and the staff are very welcoming. I feel good about leaving him with his teachers. I know he is in safe hands. They are exuberant and make you feel at ease.


My son loves it there. Wont be changing nurseries any time soon. If you are looking for a place that can accommodate

your child during his early years this might be the best place.

Fantastic place, really friendly and helpful staff. My little girl loves going to see her friends. I have recommended this nursery to a family member who also uses it now. Very welcoming and my daughter has come on brilliantly since being here.

We provide high-quality daycare for children aged 0-5 years. Our ethos is to provide a homely environment so your child feels at home from the start of their journey with us.


I have worked at New Moon since it opened in 2010. I became the Nursery Manager in 2014, where I developed my knowledge in child care and became qualified to level 5.


I have a passion for working with children and adore being the Manager at New Moon, it gives me the opportunity to see children grow and thrive within our environment, learning and developing to the best of their individual ability.


Our children are our future and they require a calm, loving and nurturing environment with opportunities to learn and as many varied experiences that we can provide for them in order to secure their foundations in their Early Years.

Working with children has always been my life goal since leaving school in 1998. I went straight on to get my level 3 qualification and have always worked with children ever since. In 2014 I moved from the Midlands to West Yorkshire and found my forever Nursery... New Moon. I started out as a Nursery Nurse and worked my way up to being Deputy Manager. This is the position I adore the most it has allowed me to get to know all the children from all the rooms rather than being based in just one room. This position has also allowed me to be creative and help implement a vision of how we want our setting to be and the ethos we have for each and every child that we care for.
