New Moon Nursery is a privately owned nursery located in Castleford, conveniently located near junction 32 off the M62, and easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

New Moon Nurseries Ltd is a family run company, the director was once a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in Early Years; and has over 16 years experience of being a director of the company. New Moon Nurseries Ltd also has another highly recommended nursery based in Warmfield.

The Nursery manager is a level 5 Qualified practitioner with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Early Years. She has managed the Castleford nursery for over 14 years.
New Moon is a small, homely nursery situated in a beautiful detached house, which also has a fantastic outdoor learning environment.

The practitioners are warm, caring and nurturing and provide an excellent standard of care for all children. Learning through high quality play and interaction is high on the agenda, in order to ensure that all children are progressing within their development.

All practitioners are fully qualified and are Paediatric First Aid trained. Continued professional development is very important to ensure that the quality of care and teaching is maintained at a excellent standard.

The nursery welcomes prospective parents to arrange a visit by phone or email.

New Moon Nursery is excellent! My daughter loves her time here and has such a good bond with the staff! She doesn’t even give a backward glance when I drop her off she can’t wait to go. I can’t recommend them enough!

As a first-time Mum, making the huge decision to go back to work I could not feel happier in my decision to send my son to New Moon. I visited several nurseries but as soon as I saw New Moon I felt confident that he would receive the best care and attention as well as play, learn and develop. I’ve had
only positive interactions with staff and it’s so lovely to hear of the connection my son has built with his key worker. It’s such a lovely place and I am grateful New Moon will be a part of my son’s childhood.

This is such a wonderful nursery. Staff welcome my daughter warmly in the morning and provide thorough information at handover. All staff know each child's name, even if they're not interacting with them all day. It makes us feel like my daughter is being truly well cared for. Staff are exceptionally
professional and knowledgeable - always looking out for the best for the children.
We always have clear communication from management and it's easy to ask them questions too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to family and friends.

My son moved from a different nursery to New Moon around October and all I can say is I wish he had started here as a baby. I could not fault the nursery, every single member of staff is lovely and care so much for the children. All are very professional and very approachable. The support he has gotten

We couldn’t ask for more from the brilliant team at New Moon Nursery. They literally couldn’t do more, they love our little boy like their own. They work with them on how to develop and also how to grow as a little human. They do so much with them and always keep us up to date on how he’s moving on.

I moved my son to New Moon from another local nursery. My son has SENCO needs and New Moon have been amazing at supporting both his and our needs as his parents. He has come on leaps and bounds in his time there. He loves spending his time there and drags me in each morning.

Absolutely fabulous nursery! My son has been attending since 2021, he absolutely loves going to school and he has developed so much in the last 2 years. My other son will also be starting in the next few months and I can’t wait to see how much he develops over the years. All the staff are so caring

My son has attended New Moon for 3 years and he absolutely loves the staff, food and learning facilities and has developed more than we could have wished, from a very shy little boy to now being very confident in play and around his peers and teachers. The staff have endless imagination when it comes
to ideas for learning in so many different ways. They also have a great outside space for play, external sports coaching and a lovely veg patch for the children to learn about growing their own food. We couldn't imagine sending our son anywhere else. We have so much trust in the staff to care for him and provide everything that he needs on an emotional level.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was 9 months old. They gave me every bit of confidence that he would be fine and 3 years later, he absolutely loves it. Extra curriculum activities are available, staff are lovely and very helpful, and the nursery itself is like a home from home. I wouldn’t

After trying two other nurseries, we have now found one where our granddaughter is thriving. Since looking around, we knew we had found a nursery where the children are central. In a very short space of time, She confidently walks into nursery every day, happy to be there. It puts us at ease knowing
that she’s not crying every day we leave her. The staff are so caring and consider the needs of the children all the time. The nursery has a comfortable, homely feel. They’ve been amazing.

Wonderful nursery and staff!
My daughter attended for four years until school and now my little boy attends.

The standard of care is absolutely fantastic. We moved our son to New Moon Nursery from what was supposed to be a good nursery, and are constantly blown away by the amazing staff and how much they go the extra mile for the children. The variety of activities is fab and our son runs in every morning
and talks about nursery all weekend! Did not know nurseries could be as good as this and I will be heartbroken when he starts school and has to leave.

New Moon is such a wonderful nursery, my child has the best time here. The staff are also so knowledgeable, kind, caring and approachable.
My child settled so quickly which was a surprise to me as I thought it would take him some time, I believe this is down to the staff and the welcoming curiosity
approach rooms.
I wouldn’t want to send my child elsewhere.

We absolutely love New Moon Nursery! Our little boy has been there for a year now and we only have positives to say. Our child was helmeted for his first 6 months of attendance and the staff were amazing, they go above and beyond always!
He loves going, we don't even get a backwards glance anymore
when he runs to go in. His development amazes us every day and we put a lot of that down to the fantastic activities he does and the care he receives at nursery!
Five stars! We recommend it to anyone!

The staff are always super friendly and always take on board my daughter's ridiculous requests for different activities. She absolutely loves going there and has tried inviting her key worker for a sleepover multiple times (although she politely declines).

We provide high-quality daycare for children aged 0-5 years. Our ethos is to provide a homely environment, so your child feels at home from the start of their journey with us.


I have worked at New Moon since it opened in 2010. I became the Nursery Manager in 2014, where I developed my knowledge in child care and became qualified to level 5.


I have a passion for working with children and adore being the Manager at New Moon, which allows me to see children grow and thrive within our environment, learning and developing to the best of their individual ability.


Our children are our future, and they require a calm, loving and nurturing environment with opportunities to learn and as many varied experiences that we can provide for them in order to secure their foundations in their Early Years.

Working with children has always been my life goal since leaving school in 1998. I went straight on to get my level 3 qualification and have always worked with children ever since. In 2014 I moved from the Midlands to West Yorkshire and found my forever Nursery... New Moon. I started out as a Nursery Nurse and worked my way up to being Deputy Manager. This is the position I adore the most it has allowed me to get to know all the children from all the rooms rather than being based in just one room. This position has also allowed me to be creative and help implement a vision of how we want our setting to be and the ethos we have for each and every child that we care for.
