New Moon Nursery is a privately owned nursery located in Castleford, conveniently located near junction 32 off the M62, and easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

New Moon Nurseries Ltd is a family run company, the director was once a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in Early Years; and has over 16 years experience of being a director of the company. New Moon Nurseries Ltd also has another highly recommended nursery based in Warmfield.

The Nursery manager is a level 5 Qualified practitioner with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Early Years. She has managed the Castleford nursery for over 14 years.
New Moon is a small, homely nursery situated in a beautiful detached house, which also has a fantastic outdoor learning environment.

The practitioners are warm, caring and nurturing and provide an excellent standard of care for all children. Learning through high quality play and interaction is high on the agenda, in order to ensure that all children are progressing within their development.

All practitioners are fully qualified and are Paediatric First Aid trained. Continued professional development is very important to ensure that the quality of care and teaching is maintained at a excellent standard.

We have tried to enroll our twins in another nursery before and it did not go so well and had to wait a year before there were spots anywhere for two children. Since they have joined New Moon the staff has worked hard to build their confidence and work on different routines which has helped with their
development a lot. Staff are friendly and patient, with an attitude to go above and beyond with innovative ideas to encourage the children to open up.

Top quality service. Fully trust New Moon with my son.
New Moon has appropriate procedures in place for accidents that may occur during the day and are familiar with any prescribed medicines that may need to be taken.

My eldest went to New Moon from the age of 2 and left in August to start school. She loved her time there, the staff helped her develop with her literacy, numeracy, social skills, and potty training. Subsequently, my 2-year-old has been going since March and loves it. Staff have helped her speech and
go out of their way to make her feel at home there even though she at times struggled. I can't complain about the nursery and have recommended it to others.

My child attended another nursery before this one and really struggled to settle in. When he moved to New Moon he was settled within the week. His language skills have come such a long way since he started. He has built great relationships with the staff, who you can tell care about the children that
attend. He loves the food. Overall we have had a great experience.

Our little boy has been coming here for over a year now and we are incredibly happy with the care and support he receives at New Moon Nursery.
The team are absolutely wonderful, they have taken the time to get to know him and his interests and will tailor some of the activities to those interests.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and have helped him settle in well with each room move. He comes home every week having learnt something new, and is excited to go to nursery in the mornings.
The staff are approachable and deal with concerns quickly and report back afterwards which helped to ease our minds as parents.
The nursery is well-maintained, has a great variety of toys and books and a nice outdoor space. They put on a number of events throughout the year too which have been fun.
We'd highly recommend New Moon Nursery to any parent looking for a high quality, nurturing and engaging environment for their child.

This nursery is amazing my little girl has come on leaps and bounds thanks to all the amazing staff at New Moon. The relationship all the staff have with all children is amazing.
They build a relationship that will last a life time. All child are recognised aa individuals and the staff help them thrive.

The care offered by the nursery to my daughter has been fabulous. Lovely extra curricular activities, support with actives of daily living, development of pincer grip and writing skills, support with toileting.
Named key worker and regular updates received.
Handover is always detailed.

We have used New Moon for our children since 2019, and wouldn't be able to fathom choosing anywhere else to look after them.
The staff are amazing, beyond exceptional in all aspects, the fact they are so adored by our children and spoken of regularly, even by the eldest who left almost 2 years ago
speaks volumes. They truly do shape little people's futures.
The setting is clearly carefully thought out, with plenty of free play and easy to access activities, giving the children reign over what activity they feel they would like to do as well as staff led activities which are tailored to a child's individual interests.
Any parent communication is always clear and concise and any queries are always answered efficiently and with a friendly manner.

We’ve had nothing but amazing experiences with this nursery since our eldest started in June 2020. This review relates to the sheer perseverance and hard work that goes into caring for our children every day, but more recently when having to get up to speed with the recent 2-year-old funding policy.
I’ve had nothing but issues trying to get eligible codes to work for my son, but staff at New Moon have been emailing the local authority regularly and dealing with a broken system not fit for purpose. It has been frustrating for both of us, but they have kept going and eventually managed to put a solution in place. For this, I am truly grateful as it was causing me no end of stress. I applaud each employee for their hard work, love and care, it means so much to us.

Having had my child in a previous nursery we were blown away by how much better they are.
My son loves attending and all the staff are great with him.
We get daily updates via the app giving us a piece of mind and some great memories via the selfie weeks.
My wife and I highly recommend this facility

A lovely nursery, with a warm family feel and some brilliant staff. From the moment my child started at New Moon I have felt comfortable, confident and assured that my child is safe, happy and well looked after. She has developed and learnt so much during her time at New Moon and she loves attending.
The communication is great; there are frequent updates throughout the day and regular “observations” regarding their development.

New Moon is a wonderful nursery with a fantastic team of helpful individuals. My daughter has attended since she was a year old. Allowing someone else to take care of your child can be upsetting, especially for first-time parents, but the team at New Moon have always filled me with confidence when leaving
my child, knowing she is in great hands. They are caring and very child-focused. The meals are great and playtime in the garden is enhanced with all of the extra activities they implement. I don't think I have ever come across a member of the team without a smile or a kind word. I would highly recommend to New Moon.

We provide high-quality daycare for children aged 0-5 years. Our ethos is to provide a homely environment, so your child feels at home from the start of their journey with us.


I have worked at New Moon since it opened in 2010. I became the Nursery Manager in 2014, where I developed my knowledge in child care and became qualified to level 5.


I have a passion for working with children and adore being the Manager at New Moon, which allows me to see children grow and thrive within our environment, learning and developing to the best of their individual ability.


Our children are our future, and they require a calm, loving and nurturing environment with opportunities to learn and as many varied experiences that we can provide for them in order to secure their foundations in their Early Years.

Working with children has always been my life goal since leaving school in 1998. I went straight on to get my level 3 qualification and have always worked with children ever since. In 2014 I moved from the Midlands to West Yorkshire and found my forever Nursery... New Moon. I started out as a Nursery Nurse and worked my way up to being Deputy Manager. This is the position I adore the most it has allowed me to get to know all the children from all the rooms rather than being based in just one room. This position has also allowed me to be creative and help implement a vision of how we want our setting to be and the ethos we have for each and every child that we care for.
