My son has been going to Tigers for 4 months now, and he’s so happy there. I completely trust the staff, they really care about the children. I know I’m leaving him in safe hands which gives me great peace of mind. They are very proactive and always doing lovely activities with the children. They almost
always get fresh air and exercise in the Pirate garden too! I would highly recommend Tigers to anybody!

Tigers is a fantastic setting with wonderful facilities and a great outdoor space for children. The staff are brilliant - supportive, caring and really go above and beyond to make the environment a great and friendly place. Both of our boys have been at Tigers - our youngest is in the Little Cubs
room and our eldest has recently left to start school. They love the nursery and staff - and the food! - and we would thoroughly recommend the nursery.

I highly recommend Tigers Day Nursery. The nursery provides care of a very high standard and the equipment and facilities provided are outstanding - some examples include the multi-sensory 'bubble' room, the giant iPads, the dance studio and the vast array of toys and educational aids. The outdoor space
is a huge advantage and my son has very much enjoyed playing in the pirate playground, in the mud kitchen and participating in forest school. The staff, from the room staff to the management team, are all hands-on, very well trained and go the extra mile to ensure the children's happiness. The meals provided are varied and nutritious. There are lots of activities for the children to get involved with from sensory play through to Nativity productions at Christmas. Overall, an excellent nursery.

Tigers Day Nursery is outstanding! My son has attended this nursery since he was 7 months old (he's now 3.5 years old) and he absolutely loves it. The provision of care is of an excellent standard. The staff are not only friendly and helpful, they are very proactive in ensuring the children's development.
The nursery itself is in a lovely location surrounded by horse paddocks which the children love to see. Outdoors, there are several spacious and well-maintained playgrounds and meadows for forest school. Inside each room is beautifully decorated and the range of activities provided for the children is very varied. There's always something interesting and new going on and no end of activities from dancing to arts and crafts, from French lessons to outdoor activities. The management and staff take a collaborative approach to work with parents and the nursery provides excellent provision for children with special educational needs. I can't recommend Tigers highly enough!

My Son always enjoys his days at Tigers. The setting is beautiful and they have lots of space outside to play and explore. He always eats really well and his development has come on in leaps within his first year of attending. The staff are friendly and give me as much information as I want each time
I pick my Son up. I also love receiving notifications on the app each day with what he has eaten along with his reports and activities with photos.

Our son moved to Tigers when we moved into the area. Initially, I was nervous to move him as he was very settled in his previous setting but Tigers has far exceeded our expectations. The staff are knowledgeable and caring and the facilities are great. The wild garden is a big hit and we always hear
about the pirate ship from our son. The online learning journal is great for little insights into his day and we’re always kept informed with how he is getting on. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tigers to anyone. The security is very good and the price is considerably less than we paid before which is an added bonus!

A fantastic nursery who cares for your child as if it's their own.
My son loves going to Tigers and enjoys the varied activities they offer.
I was amazed why my 3 year old said 'Bonjour' to me one morning and started counting in French!!
The staff are wonderful in every room, along with the management
team who are kind and accommodating.
Such a brilliant place.

My little girl started at Tigers at 8 months old. She is my third and the first one to go to a nursery. I was amazed how happy I felt leaving her with the lovely staff and how happy she has been since day one. She's now 2 and when I tell her it's a Tigers day she lights up and drags me to the front
door. She has loads of fun, lots of cuddles, yummy food and I get updates throughout the day and big smiles at the end of the day from my little girl and the lovely staff!

My children enjoy going to Tigers Day Nursery every day. The staff are very caring and my boys learn many things from nursery, not only words and numbers but how to look after yourself and care about others. I do think the cost is bit expensive but overall satisfied with what my kids get.

I have been using Tigers Day Nursery for the past ten years with all three of my children. My two year old son currently attends the nursery. I cannot express how good this nursery is. The facilities are amazing, so are every single member of the staff that work there.
My son currently has a speech
delay and the nursery are working alongside his speech therapist to help him with his current needs. He settles extremely well and loves attending Tigers. Highly recommended.

We moved my son to Tigers from another excellent nursery for practical and logistical reasons as much as anything and it was a risk as I didn't know how he would settle, we didn't need to worry. It is true that every child is unique, however, my son has a very rare genetic condition and has a very
particular set of needs as he is globally developmentally delayed, unable to walk at the moment and has limited words. It's important to note too that with such a rare condition there is no information pool or standard training courses for anyone to use as a benchmark to establish how to look after him, and yet Tigers embraced him from day one. They have focused on making his life at Tigers and his activities there normal but with the extra support he needs which is exactly what we want for him. His key worker is also simply amazing with him and seems to understand him fully and she has even done some babysitting for us and I will ensure that he keeps in touch with her.

We have used this nursery for 6 years and have always been pleased with the service provided. They are very accommodating and are always happy to help. The staff are very friendly and build up a special relationship with the children during their time at the nursery. We will be sad to leave the nursery
when our daughter goes to school.

Tigers Day Nursery is an excellent environment for my son and the care provided is of the highest standard. I feel that I am kept informed of all the relevant aspects of my son's day whilst he attends and we get regular information on targets that he has achieved and is working towards. The biggest
compliment I can pay is that my son thoroughly enjoys his time at Tigers.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough, I have used this nursery for the last 7 years with both of my children. They always seem happy when I drop them off or pick them up. Not once did I have a problem with my boys not wanting to stay even on their settling in sessions! Their learning abilities came
on heaps and bounds while they were here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The nursery has a lot to offer for the children, their meals are great and it is a very clean environment. Happy to leave my children in their care so I can work

I cannot recommend Tigers Nursery enough! My son has come on leaps and bounds since he joined earlier in the year and I love the learning through play and so does my he. My son especially enjoys the outside space and the fact that the nursery aim to get the children outside and least once a day is
great. All the staff are lovely and really helped with the transition from my son being at home all day with Mummy to going to the nursery one day a week. It was difficult at first but the staff were great and gave lots of suggestions and as many settling in days that either of us needed. My son now happily runs off to play with his new friends and smiles as soon as he sees the staff which is an excellent indication that he is clearly very happy.

Our son came from a child minder when he was 3 and has loved it. Everyone (and I mean everyone) is very friendly and welcoming. The activities are varied and challenging. My son especially loves French and forest school. We get detailed feedback every day about his progress. He has loved it and I can't

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.871)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.871) out of 10 for Tigers Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.952 for Tigers Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.952
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.919 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tigers Day Nursery is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 160 number of registered child places is 32. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 32 = 0.219
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello, my name is Cara, I have recently joined Tigers as an operations manager.

I have a background in Education, specialising in Early Years. I have always been drawn to Early Years, primarily as an Early Years teacher, Leader and Manager of Nurseries, Montessori and mainstream schools. I have a wealth of experience that I draw on constantly, from being a Forest School Leader, Inclusion Officer and a Signalong Tutor.

I am extremely passionate about our youngest children. I enjoy learning new skills, constantly researching new ways to teach and support children, and training and supporting other practitioners to ensure we meet each individual child’s needs to become independent learners.

I am super excited to have joined Tigers, and to be part of this wonderful team here.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 1999

Hi, I’m Nicola Barkhouse, Senior Nursery Manager of Tigers Day Nursery. I came to Tigers as a placement as part of my NNEB training in 1997 and joined the company in 1999 when I finished my qualification. Since then I have completed my level 4 and level 5 childcare qualifications.

Over the years I have worked with all age groups as a nursery nurse and room senior before becoming a manager. Stepping away from running my own room was a big decision but in my role now I have the best of both worlds as I am able to spend time with the children but also show new parents around the nursery and support the staff to achieve the high standards of care and teaching we offer at Tigers.

One of my roles is the nursery SENDCO and I really enjoy this role as I strongly believe that every child deserves the absolute best start in life and the opportunity to attend Nursery.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my five nephews and friends and family.
