Well organised, well structured, well managed. Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent activities. Separate and cosy sleeping room with cots for babies/toddlers and sleeping mats for older kids. Timing suitable for working parents and also open during half-term and school holidays. Opportunities
for kids to have food at 5 different occasions - breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, tea-time. Interactive environment, plenty of toys and activities for all age 0-5.

My daughter has been attending Poppies for two years and has come on leaps and bounds through going there. The staff are so friendly and all make a point of saying hello to my daughter when she arrives, which makes me feel she is really welcome and has a relationship with them all. The management has
also been very supportive of me as a parent, they have helped me through any concerns I had about my daughter and I feel they genuinely care about her wellbeing and progress. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Poppies to other parents.

My first child went to Poppies and his care was outstanding. All the practitioners worked closely to help him learn and develop in all areas. He went from a shy toddler to a bright happy child. Now we've moved a little further way from Poppies but it's been so great that we chose to take the extra walk
to take my second child there too.

I visited many nurseries around the area but this one is one of the best ones. The management gave me such a warm feeling about the place and during my observation hours, I always had a smile on my face as I’ve seen how much my little one is enjoying the environment. Staff are extremely professional
and friendly. Everyone works so well together and are all involved in many activities with the little ones. I could go on and on. The online program family is fantastic as many nurseries don’t have it. For us, it’s a very good start and I want to thank all the team of Poppies Nursery. You are doing an amazing job.

The staff have been really welcoming and helpful when enrolling and settling my child. My child quickly adjusted, felt safe and comfortable, learning all her friends and staff's names that she interacted with. What gave me the most comfort whilst being away from my daughter were the updates/activities
I was notified about on the app.

My son has attended Poppies for the past two and a half years and is really happy there. It is amazing to see his growth in confidence and ability over that time and the staff at Poppies have played a large part in that.
My child is encouraged in his development and learning and takes part in a wide
variety of activities to improve his skills and independence. We also get good feedback about his day.
The nursery has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and professional and I feel my child is in a safe and secure environment.

This is my second child to attend Poppies and the staff have always been very supportive to me and my children and I would highly recommend the nursery to other parents.

I found Poppies Nursery to be an amazing childcare provider. They catered to my babies needs day to day whether it was nappy rash or she was a bit sniffly. They encouraged her development at all stages as well as helping her transition from crawling to walking and being fed to feeding herself. They
encouraged her independence and I found she would come home knowing new words or phrases. She would amaze me by not only knowing different animals and the sounds they made but also the sign for the animals which she learnt at nursery.
The staff would take into consideration the fact that she had another home language other than English (Portugese) and enquire about it, this made me very happy as I knew it meant my daughter would not be confused while learning both languages because they would not try to correct her when she was speaking in Portuguese they would simply tell her the word in English as well, still praising her knowledge of both languages.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.486)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.486) out of 10 for Poppies Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.943 for Poppies Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.943
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.543 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Poppies Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.643
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
