Poppies Nursery is an Early Years Alliance childcare service located in Luton, Bedfordshire. At their last OFSTED inspection in January 2024, they received a Good.

The nursery offers 70 Ofsted-registered places for children aged from birth to five-years-old. Poppies offers day care as well as funded places this includes 9 month old funding, 2-year-old funding and 3 to 5-year-old funding, 15 hours and 30 hour places.

High-quality care and learning opportunities for children are provided by a friendly and well-qualified team that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum guidance. All staff undergo a vigorous recruitment and selection process. All staff are DBS checked and are all trained in paediatric first aid.

Staff focus on supporting children's learning and development through play as well as recognising and supporting children's individual needs. Parents and carers are actively encouraged to be involved in the life of the nursery.

The nursery is open from 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday, fifty one weeks of the year, excluding bank holidays and staff training days.

We sent our little girl here in September 2021 as we felt that she suffered with the lockdowns and was very behind socially. Through the careful nurturing of the staff, she has grown into a very happy and confident child who has made many firm friends at Poppies. She confidently talks to the adults
and very much loves the adults who worked with her. We’re very happy with how far she has come socially within the last 22 months.

I have been truly blessed with this nursery. My twins started at about 7 months and they settled in well. The ladies there are truly amazing. The warmth and love is palpable!

My daughter has been coming to Poppies Nursery for a couple of years now, starting with 1 morning in the baby room to full time in the main room and pre-school. From day 1, we were made to feel so welcome by the friendly and hard-working staff. My daughter loves going to Poppies and has made so much

Best nursery ever!


The staff are very friendly and the management is amazing. They are extremely flexible, understanding, professional and helpful in every situation. My daughter learned so much in this nursery, including English and they were also so helpful during the potty training.


The nursery

is very clean and they take care of every child very well. My daughter's nappies were never dirty when I picked her up and they provided information about every progress she made regularly. Their app is amazing and easy to use. I totally recommend it if you want the best for your child.

Poppies Nursery is an excellent nursery. All staff members are helpful and friendly. They go over and beyond to ensure the children are happy and learn at their own pace. My eldest daughter attended the nursery from the age of 11-months until 4-years-old.
She loves it, and so does my second daughter, who is three.
The staff are very friendly, easy to approach with any concerns, a very clean environment and a very safe environment.

Well, I love this nursery. My son loves it too. He’s always super excited to go to nursery every day. The atmosphere is very friendly for kids. The teachers over there are very nice and always ready to explain and help you out with kids.

The staff are great and my daughter adores them. She used to cry in the early stages but now looks forward to school (most days!). Regular updates and pictures are provided through the app and staff are generally very knowledgeable about your child’s developments and happy to give advice.


Dropping

her off in the morning is easy as you can get inside the school, but for the afternoon pick up you have to park outside and walk a rather long way into the school. Not an issue really but I wished there was a shorter path to the nursery. There is a back entrance on a perpendicular road but you cant park on the yellow lines in the afternoon, but you can on Linden Road (but is a slightly longer walk).

My daughter has recently started at Poppies Nursery, from the first moment of speaking to the manager I could tell that it's the best place for her to learn and interact with other children. She has settled in and loves going to her morning sessions. All the staff are very helpful and understanding.
She has a key worker who regularly updates me about her progress in the sessions and uploads pictures so I can see what activity she has been doing on my email. I'm glad I have sent her here, it's the best place. Thank you, everyone, at Poppies.

Poppies Nursery has been great for both my son and now my daughter. They both have enjoyed their time at Poppies due to the staff being incredibly hospitable, kind and friendly. The staff give me regular updates which has been incredibly reassuring.

My youngest has been going to Poppies for the past year and a half and my son went there for two years. The staff are fantastic with the kids they're very positive and encouraging and always updating myself and my husband on my daughter's development. The app they use to post pictures and development
milestones has been fantastic. If I ever have concerns they deal with it quickly and efficiently and always willing to work with me to resolve any issues that may arise especially regarding finances etc. My daughter loves it, always has positive words to share about her day and the nursery itself. I am very happy with the nursery and recommend it to all my friends and families.

My granddaughter has been coming to Poppies for three years, after I obtained guardianship for her. The staff were very helpful and understanding of my circumstances, treating me no differently than any of the other parents. My granddaughter loves her nursery school and has practically grown up there,
first attending in the baby room when she was under one. All staff were amazing with her and have helped her to grow and become the wonderful, confident little girl that she is today.
