Poppies Nursery is an Early Years Alliance childcare service located in Luton, Bedfordshire. At their last OFSTED inspection in January 2024, they received a Good.

The nursery offers 70 Ofsted-registered places for children aged from birth to five-years-old. Poppies offers day care as well as funded places this includes 9 month old funding, 2-year-old funding and 3 to 5-year-old funding, 15 hours and 30 hour places.

High-quality care and learning opportunities for children are provided by a friendly and well-qualified team that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum guidance. All staff undergo a vigorous recruitment and selection process. All staff are DBS checked and are all trained in paediatric first aid.

Staff focus on supporting children's learning and development through play as well as recognising and supporting children's individual needs. Parents and carers are actively encouraged to be involved in the life of the nursery.

The nursery is open from 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday, fifty one weeks of the year, excluding bank holidays and staff training days.

My oldest daughter attended poppies and we loved her going there so had to send our second child. The staff are all welcoming, attentive, supportive and friendly. Never had any concerns. Our daughter has become so confident and I think that's down to the staff with constant encouragement. She has also

Poppies Nursery is always clean and set out well for the children also very spacious .It is also great to see that the children get a chance to make choices for themselves by being allowed to access toys independently.


My son has developed a positive relationship with his key worker ,therefore I

feel confident in leaving him at the nursery knowing he will be well looked after for the day. All the staff are so good with him and he feels happy even when he gets home. I would highly recommend as this nursery will give your child a good foundation to progress successfully onto school.

We couldn't be happier with Poppies Nursery! Our daughter has been attending for around 3 years, and the progress we've seen in her development and confidence has been amazing. The staff are incredibly caring, patient, and dedicated - you can tell they truly love what they do. The environment is nurturing,
safe, and full of fun learning opportunities.
Communication is always clear, and we feel very involved in our daughter's daily activities and milestones. She comes home every day excited to tell us what she's learned and who she played with. It's such a comfort to know she's in such good hands.
Highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a warm and supportive place for their little one to grow!

Poppies nursery has excellent staff who always greet the children and parents with a smile. They are very good approachable at the door in person, via the telephone and app. All questions or worries are taken seriously. The most amazing is feedback and reporting initiated from staff about any observation.

7 out of my 14 children have attended Poppies and we have been using Poppies Nursery for the last 12 years. It's like extended family. My son is graduating this month so only 1 left in the nursery now.
Always greeted with a smile.
Great communication and regular updates with my kid's progress. A handy
app that keeps you informed in real-time. All staff are hands-on and work well.
Great facilities for the kids, a wide range of activities.
My kids are always happy to go even if they are ill they still want to go.
Big round of applause for the manager to stay on top of everything and runs it well.

Brilliant nursery with the kindest and most caring staff. My boy has presented with some additional needs as he is nonverbal currently, and the Poppies team have been so supportive and encouraging of my son's development. My daughter started Poppies Nursery in September 2022. It took her some time to settle in but once she did it felt like a second home to her.
Poppies Nursery is one of the best nurseries I have come across. The staff are so kind and caring. The environment is safe. The key workers are so communicative
and the admin team are efficient. They are incredibly warm and loving towards my daughter.
The care, love and encouragement the children receive to explore and develop at the nursery is fantastic.
I would like to especially thank two staff members who took extra care of my daughter and made her into an independent little lady but secretly loved all the attention she got from them. My daughter was a bit sad to leave the nursery but is also excited to start her new big school as she calls it and she does say she will miss her nursery and the staff.
Finally, I cannot wait for my 1-year-old to start Poppies Nursery.

This is an amazing nursery, all three of my children attended here and they loved it! The staff are friendly and caring to each individual child. There’s plenty of room indoors and outdoors with lots of activities to keep the kids busy, I would be sending my fourth child to Poppies Nursery too if we
weren’t moving out of the city! So sad we have to leave, but all my children have had amazing years here, definitely recommend this nursery compared to other local ones which I have experienced too.

Having viewed a number of nurseries, upon viewing Poppies I immediately knew this was the nursery for our daughter, and I haven’t been proved wrong. Our daughter joined at 8 months old and the Baby room team have taken amazing care of her in the 9 months that she’s been at Poppies Nursery. All of the
staff are a delight and our daughter is clearly comfortable with all staff and especially loves the nursery manager. To drop our daughter off at nursery and see her run up to staff for cuddles is such peace of mind - teamed with the fact that she mostly never wants to leave nursery! Poppies has also been great with supporting her development, from the weaning process, to walking, and supporting her love of singing and playing. I have no reservations in recommending Poppies. It’s been the best decision for us.

Poppies Day Nursery has been absolutely brilliant and the manager has given my daughter a place very last minute as I didn't want her to be behind her development. Thank you to the manager for giving her an opportunity to grow in this place. My daughter's key person has been very caring and amazing.
My daughter has bonded with her so much. This nursery has been the best decision I had made for my daughter to attend. Everyone is so friendly. It was very emotional as it was my daughter's last day today but thank you to all staff and managers for looking after my daughter and for giving your precious time. Very nice, polite and experienced staff, everyone was always lovely.
My child felt very comfortable and happy going to nursery.
