My baby boy loves his male nannies which helped him to adjust really quickly. His development has increased tremendously over the last 6 months. We are now on holidays and we see how important the social part of the nursery is for him!
I would recommend booties (plastic blue shoe cover) for parents that come in to pick their kids up. With changing weather the floor gets quickly dirty so kids crawl on a dirty floor, even though the cleaners try their best.
My daughter has been going to this nursery full time since she was 10 months old (she is now three and a half) and absolutely loves it. We have been through every room/class of the nursery and she has developed great relationships with all of the staff and other children. It's a big decision to find somewhere that you would be comfortable to leave your little one all day whilst you are at work and I have felt comfortable from day one leaving her at Holyrood Day Nursery Princes Dock, knowing that she is being well cared for. She loves playing outside, taking part in all of the activities, as well as the soft play area, and I was really pleased that there were staff working there that spoke other languages, so that she could start to learn some words too. If I had to say anything, it would be great if she had more language sessions in pre-school. The food is great, and she really wouldn't get to try most of the food that she eats there at home. Great nursery, with great people in a perfect location for me.
The rooms are brilliantly interactive and interesting for the children at every age. Activities are well thought out and exciting and the staff are so attentive and it’s obvious that their focus is to help the kids develop. I really can’t recommend this nursery enough and am so grateful for the service they provide.
Really friendly nursery with great staff and location. Our little girl has come on leaps and bounds and it's thanks to the staff at Holyrood. She goes twice a week but they are her two favourite days and comes home very tired from all the activities she does. Great nursery, thanks Holyrood.
My son has been at Holyrood since he was 9 months old, he is now nearly 3, his development at this nursery has been great.
All the staff give a warm welcome every morning and have helped make the initial transition as easy as possible for us. They make an effort to get to know the babies and greet them with big smiles and 'hellos' and check how they are.
Daily activities are planned e.g. water play, soft play, messy play, painting and tower building etc, etc. The rooms are kept clean and are warm, colourful and inviting and there are always books and other resources out ready to start the day.
The handovers are thorough, including the daily diaries that are filled in so you can keep track of what they're eating (the menus are always well balanced), sleeping habits and nappies. There is a key worker system which is a comfort for when babies are not in the happiest of moods!
Overall very happy and feel that our son gets the care and attention he needs each day in a safe environment.
Myself and my husband love the nursery too. The staff are incredible and we feel that the children are very well looked after while we are at work.
I have used this nursery for both my children over the last 7 years! I have seen many changes over this time but think it is the best it has ever been right now.
An absolutely amazing nursery with decent, caring staff. My daughter has progressed so well in the months she has been attending Holyrood, and has become even more of a happy, bubbly, smart, social butterfly. I feel confident in the knowledge that she is safe and cared for when I am working. I would (and have) recommend to anyone.
My son, who is now nearly four, has attended this nursery since he was around 15 months on a two day per week basis. He enjoys his days at the nursery and the meals made on site by the chef.
The management at the nursery are welcoming and efficient, as are the childcare staff. I trust the staff to treat my son with care and respect and to keep me well informed.
I will be sad when my son’s time at Holyrood Princes Dock ends when he starts school, and know he will miss all of the staff who have looked after him so well.
We took our daughter to Holyrood Day Nursery Princes Dock for 3 weeks while on holiday in Liverpool. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. My daughter enjoyed her time there and even learned a few French and Spanish words.
Holyrood is a fantastic nursery, it offers children a range of activities other nurseries don't. My 2-year-old daughter has attended here since January 2017, recently she surprised us by fluently counting 1-10 in Spanish and being able to say "Hello, how are you" in Spanish too! Not many places offer that. The staff are caring and attentive, I couldn't recommend a better nursery, even though it is expensive, you do get value for money.
Very happy with how my granddaughter has been treated and looked after.
The Holyrood Princess Dock in Liverpool had really playful and wide clean premises with lots of toys and activity areas including the soft play area. My 3,5years old son enjoyed his five weeks even though he hardly knew any English. In no time he settled in well. The staff were easy to approach, smiley and helpful. It is very nice that the manager happily greets and says goodbye to everyone entering and leaving. The place for pushchairs is very easy as it is next to the doorway. For us, it is very convenient that the afternoon session lasts until 6 pm (not 5pm as typical). The safeguarding was very good.
I would bring my child anytime back if we still lived in Liverpool. Thank you for the great experience.
I am very impressed with the care my daughter receives here. She is well cared for and is always happy to go. I have seen the nursery make some massive improvements. A big well done to the manager and her team.
The communication between her, me and the staff at the nursery is brilliant. She cannot wait to go to 'school' as she would say and she is only 2.
I thoroughly believe it is because of Holyrood, it is run great.
So clean and welcoming, facilities are to the highest standard.
I would recommend this nursery to all parents.
From the lovely welcome at the reception desk to the fantastic activities each day, my son has an amazing time at this nursery.
The staff are excellent at keeping him entertained all day and I am given a lovely book to show what activities he has done that day. This book helps in the evening as it shows his meals that day (including delicious snacks) and shows his nappies and nap times.
I feel very safe leaving my son at this nursery, everyone is so caring.
Nursery and facilities are excellent. The staff are all friendly and welcoming putting baby/child and parents at ease. A range of activities completed and both the inside and outside play areas also provide learning eg, the village with its shops, library, hospital etc.
This is such a lovely nursery. Since the current manager has taken over there have been many great improvements and the nursery has such a lovely feel to it. The nursery is very modern and spacious with some fantastic activities and a great staff team.
My son attends the baby room and I sometimes think he prefers it in there to home! The relationship he has developed with his key worker and the other members of staff is lovely and reassuring to me as a parent returning to work. My son is always greeted by every member of staff by name and they take a genuine interest in his health, well-being and development. The staff have all been very supportive to my son being a breastfed baby and my wish to continue the same whilst in their care. I feel very happy with our decision to choose this nursery!

Meet the Team (2)
'Hello, my name is Lynne Billington, and I am delighted to start as nursery manager, working alongside the fabulous team you already have.
I have over 20 years of Early Years experience, as well as being an Early Years Specialist holding a senior role in my last position. I have experience working at Princess Dock many years ago, and I am thrilled to be coming back. Education-wise, I have a BA QTS EYPS. My previous setting has achieved an Outstanding Ofsted grade, as have other settings I have supported.
I have a true passion for making a difference in your little ones' lives and look forward to working alongside you, watching them grow into confident learners.
Personally, I am a mother of 3 grown-up children and a nanny to 3 wonderful grandchildren who keep me on my toes. I have been married for 35 years this year, and my husband is a paramedic who works in the Liverpool area.
Hayley works hard to create a wonderful nursery environment where children can flourish and thrive.
