Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School, Rathvilly (Northfield)

We are beyond pleased with the care at this nursery. Our 4-year-old son is in the preschool room, and he is content and happy there. They get outside almost every day and have great outdoor spaces and activities on offer, which is a big bonus of this nursery. The staff are attentive, warm and kind. Can’t say enough good things about them!

My eldest son has been at nursery since 9 months old, he leaves for school in September. My youngest is 18 months old and been there since 9 months old also. Wouldn't trust anybody else with my sons. All the staff are very approachable and visibly happy in their job role. The manager knows each child and has a personal touch with each child. I'm so thankful for their love and care they've given my boys. If I've had any problems they've been been dealt with as soon as possible. The biggest thing I love about this nursery is the space. It has a large garden area which for two young energetic boys is amazing.

The manager is warm and welcoming and is extremely knowledgeable about the business. The nursery staff are all friendly and approachable. At the end of the day they give a detailed account of what my child has done, as well as keeping me updated through the app. My child always enjoyed his time here and has progressed well.

After having to change nurseries three times due to them closing down, I was worried about taking my son to another nursery for only three months before he finishes school. However, from the get-go, he was welcomed in, made lots of friends and learned so much in such a short time. He learnt things ready for school, visited the local care home regularly, learnt about gardening, experienced lots of activities, and most importantly, was always happy. I can’t thank the Rathvilly team enough for their massive input in his learning!

My daughter comes home daily having had so much fun and always covered in the day's activities- a sign of a great day.

First Steps Rathvilly is an amazing nursery, my son enjoys everyday he attends. I love the environment within the nursery especially the outdoor play areas, children are able to explore to their hearts content. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, they create a lovely atmosphere for creativity and learning.

My son started a few weeks ago and it has been a nice and easy transition, the staff are supportive not only for my son but for me too, he is loving his days there and has formed a nice connection with the staff.

Can't fault it. Nothing but good things to say. Seeing my son develop since starting here is mind-blowing and it's down to the help from all the staff. Can't thank them enough. And can't wait to see how my son will progress more. Amazing!

Since our daughter started in September 2022, she has been welcomed by all staff. Everyone is friendly and approachable, which has made the transition from home to nursery much smoother. Our little girl goes in every morning happily and has a smile on her face when we pick her up. We are very happy with the care she receives at Rathvilly and would recommend this nursery.

Fabulous nursery. My son has a really good time. Such a warm and welcoming environment. Lots of activities for him to do during the day. Really good nutritious food during the day as well. The staff are brilliant and really care about the children.

Lovely nursery, the staff are amazing and wonderful, my child is always happy and excited to come to nursery to see her friends and learn from the staff. She has grown and progressed wonderfully during her time here.

Love the place. My daughter is very happy here and her development is wonderful. She has been coming here for two years and I cannot be more proud of her development and the way she transfers her learnt skills to a real-world environment.

Really happy with our experience of this nursery so far. Our daughter started in September and has settled in well. It took slightly longer than we expected but this was due to our daughter and her attachment to us. The nursery have been amazing, really patient, understanding and communication have been great. Would definitely recommend the nursery it is clear that they really care about the children and it's a lovely environment to be around. Thank you!

Excellent nursery and amazing staff. My little one started in the preschool room in September and she has settled in so well. All the staff are amazing, kind and experienced, dealing with all my daughter's needs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to another parent.

The acting nursery manager is amazing, she goes above and beyond to support my child's transition to starting nursery. She couldn't do more for us. The acting manager is amazing, we feel so lucky to have her at our nursery.

Our son loves coming to nursery and is developing well. The new manager and deputy are excellent and provide consistency after lots of staff changes. The staff are caring and there is a range of activities for the children. Our only suggested improvement would be to reconsider the distribution of fruit and less carbohydrates which can trigger our son's constipation

Excellent overall, the staff are kind and caring and have been super supportive, especially during a very difficult period.

Our first started at First Steps Rathvilly when he was 12 months old and our second started at a similar age. We have been extremely happy with the care and developmental support our sons have received. All of the staff are approachable and knowledgeable. It is very nice to receive updates and photos throughout the day on the app and handovers are always well detailed and informative. Both boys come home happy every day (although tired!) and we love hearing all about the fun and learning they have been getting up to with their friends!

The staff are very welcoming every time we arrive. My child has been here since being 8 months old. I am happy as a parent for my child to be attending. I am so happy with the keyworker. She always answers any of my questions and finds an outcome in a positive element, thank you.

My granddaughter has been at this nursery for a number of years and I have found the staff to be very helpful, friendly, engaging and very informative with the development and progress of my granddaughter. On a personal note, I respect the professionalism of the management team. If anything is not quite right, the speed to correct is key.
