They make regular supervised visits to the classrooms, use the assembly halls and see the bigger children in their environment.
They are big on happy children. They have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and a focus on taking care of each other and the world. The nursery holds the prestigious Green Flag Status Award (the highest possible), an Eco-school programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.
They are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained and they have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with the children, such as encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world.
They also have a ParentZone app that keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery which includes photos from their day, meals eaten, assessments and even toilet training progress!
Each age group 0-2 and 2-5 years have their own rooms which they have personalised to create their own areas they can enjoy. The nursery has a luxurious balcony for the over twos which has a roof canopy allowing the children to extend their play in an outdoor environment.
Babies have a separate soft surface garden area with artificial grass, giving them varied textures to begin to explore the outside world in play. There are musical toys and mirrors attached to the walls to provide stimulating play.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 52 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 52 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 21.9 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

I have found The Co-Operative Childcare, Charlton to be a nurturing and welcoming environment for my children. I feel happy leaving my son in their care and most important, my son is delighted to go; he can't get in the class quick enough! The staff and nursery manager are friendly and approachable - if I ever have a concern or a question they are willing and happy to listen/talk. More recently the nursery has introduced an app called 'Parent Zone'. His key worker up loads photos and comments about his day which I can log in at anytime to find out what my son is doing throughout the day whilst I am working. I can also leave a comment and screenshot his photos to keep for my family photo album.

She embeds great value across her team and is visible by each one of the team. My Child loves going there and she talks about them and her day with so much love each evening. She remembers what they have done and she is only 3. Some fantastic ways implemented in the learning. Very caring environment. Would highly recommend it. I am just thankful and blessed my child is part of this setting! Highly recommend it to all parents.

All the staff are very understanding and welcoming. They took time to make my son feel comfortable He had delayed speech and had to follow a plan required by the speech therapist. I informed the Manager who informed my son's keyworker. She followed the plan and made detailed notes, even the speech therapist was impressed and commented on how well things were going at the nursery. My son is talking more and growing in his abilities. I receive a detailed feedback sheet at the end of the day and we can communicate any issues our son has. All the staff in the Caterpillar are fantastic and very caring.
The nursery is very friendly and very helpful, always willing to help.

Staff are great. Lots of outside space. Good variation in meals. Lots of different activities, especially for the 2-year-olds. My daughter seems to really like the staff and activities.

I don't think you are ever sure when you first leave your child at nursery but I couldn't be happier with the care my girls have received. We all love it!

We are happy with The Co-operative Childcare Charlton Nursery, my son has learnt a lot from school such as using a spoon and hand over dishes to us once finishing dinner, trying to communicate with hand languages and he has picked up a lot of vocabularies. Teachers give us updates with timely manners, we enjoy looking at my son's art crafts, pictures etc. I do recommend this school.
My daughter enjoys coming to this nursery. Ever since she started in July 2016, I have noticed a vast improvement in her communication skills. The nursery staff are also very friendly and my daughter has developed a good relationship with them.

Its always a worry when you go back to work from maternity leave, but the staff at Charlton made it much easier. They were so caring and soon knew my little boys favourite toy, to get so he'd be happy when I left. They even decorated the ceiling above the change area to distract him, as he wasn't a...

Caring, attentive staff and a real commitment to expanding my son's mind through play. Couldn't be happier.
They take the time to discuss his day with me and encourage communication between home and nursery through the use of WOW vouchers.

Our son has attended Charlton Co-Operative Nursery since November 2014 and we have consistently been delighted with the care and support he has been shown. He has had a great relationship with both his key people and has been helped to share and make friends with the other children so that he now has a large circle of friends. We couldn't be happier with our experience and are most grateful.
I have so far found the service provided by The Co-operative Childcare Charlton Nursery to be very accomplished and accommodating. Any concerns about leaving my child in their care are dissolved by my trust in the staff and their demeanour.

Personable, personal and super friendly! The children love the staff and the staff clearly love their jobs which all makes for a fantastic atmosphere. I love how flexible the staff are willing to accommodate all requests, however random.

Both of my children are very happy here. The nursery has improved a lot since we joined in 2012. The leadership is energetic and proactive, and the staff all show deep care for all the children in their care.

This child care provides a safe, caring and secure environment for my daughter to develop in. They also helped my daughter to develop physically, socially and emotionally and prepared her for the transition to school. They do take illness very seriously. I can pick and drop my daughter any time of the day. My daughter enjoys activities like; playing with the sand pit, painting, listening to stories, puzzles and singing nursery rhymes. Childcare has a wide range of age-appropriate and culturally diverse toys and books. They display plenty of drawings and paintings that the children have done themselves, which shows their creativity is valued and encouraged. The key workers are enthusiastic and friendly.
