Set in 2 acres of land, Norfolk Lodge has a vast outdoor area for children to play, have fun, explore and learn, with the freedom to access a range of age-appropriate resources. There is a covered outside play area for the younger children and a fully fenced woodland area perfect for children to expand their curiosity. There are also areas offering lots of physical fun, with climbing frames and a soft surfaced court with bikes and scooters for the children to enjoy.

During the long summer holidays, educational, arts and sporting activities are available for 5 weeks. They also offer a before school and after school service.

Their commitment to providing fantastic childcare has further been recognised by Ofsted, who has rated Norfolk Lodge as ‘Outstanding’ in their latest inspection (January 2018).

Norfolk Lodge has been a safe, happy and friendly nursery for my daughter for two years. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt the warmth and kindness from all members of staff. The children are always smiling and show respect to others. My daughter has blossomed both socially and academically
and I feel extremely lucky that she has had this fantastic start to her journey of life. Thank you to all the staff at Norfolk Lodge.

Both of my children have attended this nursery and I have always been incredibly impressed by how well they know my children. The activities have always been very engaging and taken into consideration my children's needs and interests.
Communication with parents is great. We are regularly updated
and fully involved with both our daughter's learning and her well-being. Staff are extremely caring and have great relationships with the children. The senior leadership are very approachable and it's clear that they are passionate about ensuring the best outcomes for the children.

Great help with my son ( with a mild hearing loss) to differentiate between 'ch' and 'sh' sounds. Specially selected reading books given with the sounds. Flashcards made by keyworkers to bring home to practice sounds. He cracked it in a few days with the excellent extra help.

We have been so pleased with the progress our son has made this year. He has been encouraged to develop his writing and number recognition at his own speed. We love the fact that his classroom activities vary so much and that they have a topic each term. Although he has yet to start reading, we are
pleased with the foundation skills that he has developed at Norfolk Lodge. We will remember his time here with fond memories as he makes the jump to Reception class in September.

We have sent both our children to Norfolk Lodge. They have both been looked after exceptionally well and we have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and standard of education they provide. Our children have thrived in a safe and nurturing environment and we will be very sad to say goodbye
after a fantastic 8 years.

The staff have helped my son with special needs to enjoy school and come out of himself.
They have gone over and above the normal call of duty.
The transition to school has been handled professionally and transition meetings have been provided.
I'm very happy to have been a parent at this nursery.
My younger son will also attend this nursery.

This nursery is by far one of the best in North London and Herts. The staff are amazing, kind, caring and enthusiastic. Norfolk Lodge is such a lovely setting with the house and the garden, it ticks all my boxes. This is my third child, so attending a nursery full of fun, learning and laughter is brilliant.

I would not hesitate in recommending Norfolk Lodge. From the headmistress, office staff to the teachers in the classrooms, they are all professional and friendly. It's a loving environment and the teachers are amazing. My eldest learnt so much during her time here. My youngest has now started too. It's
a stimulating and caring environment. Children are very well looked after. I was surprised at how significant the price increase is.

My youngest daughter is shortly finishing at Norfolk Lodge because she is due to start school. All the teachers have been an amazing. They really care about the children. They have been taught so many things in a very fun way. Both my daughters have thoroughly enjoyed their time at nursery and I wouldn't

We are very happy with the staff and their teaching at the nursery. My daughter's vocabulary has increased as has her confidence. The teachers are all very friendly, they are helpful, smiling and very approachable.
My daughter comes home very happy every afternoon and is singing and talking about her
day at nursery and what she has learnt.
I am very impressed with the fact that the teachers push the children according to their ability. I would highly recommend the nursery.

My daughter has been at the nursery for almost 2 years now. We have seen her flourish both socially and academically with her letters and numbers as well as her general knowledge. The teachers are always approachable and take care to get to know all the children individually. They take pride in their
work. The children are learning so much without even realising because they are having fun. The nursery atmosphere helps the children develop close friendships. My daughter looks forward to going to nursery every day. I will be recommending the nursery to all my friends.

Our child started this school in September 2015. She has since moved up to the Montessori classroom and has been there for 4 months. Her knowledge has grown exponentially asks questions on topics that we have not covered at home. Her ability to work quietly on her own as well as explore the environment
around her without fear or hesitation has also grown. She has become even more confident in her ability and capacity to learn.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I started at Norfolk Lodge on 1 st April 1996. One term after the nursery had opened and I've been here ever since. I became the Head Directress in June 2016, having spent 20 years in Jade class.

I am very proud to have achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating in January 2018. We have a wonderful setting and I am honoured to be part of a long-serving, educated team of practitioners that provide our children with excellent care and education.


Both my children had been to a Montessori Nursery and I decided to embark on my Montessori training at Montessori, St Nicholas in Knightsbridge. This was just before being acquired by Bright Horizons.

Before becoming a Montessori teacher I had originally studied art and design at college and university. After a career change, I decided to follow my heart and become a teacher. I trained at Montessori St Nicholas in Knightsbridge and gained my qualification. I’ve worked in various Montessori settings within London and Hertfordshire.


I started at Norfolk Lodge on 6th September 1996 and I have been here ever since. I became the deputy head in June 2016 alongside my role as a room senior too. I feel we have an amazing setting and I feel privileged to be part of a dedicated team. We are just one big happy family that provides children with excellent care and education, but most of all love and understanding.
