I signed up my little one here after the amazing reviews I had heard but soon after I decided to change nursery. The nursery's outdoor is really good but the building was a bit outdated. In the beginning, we felt that it was a nice place for our kid. However, it should be noted that they have a window of 15 minutes for pick-ups and drop-offs and if you are one minute late they have a go at you or hand over the kid without even telling you whether he has even eaten or slept all day. The breakfast club and the after four activities are charged extra and they combine all the classes together. Also, they never used to inform parents of any contagious sicknesses so my little one for the short time that stayed there was constantly sick. Worst of all is that they do some type of time out like a naughty step and when I raised it they denied it when it was obviously happening as my little one was coming home and was putting me to do time out after the nursery and many parents confirmed it.

Norfolk Lodge had always been a nursery of interest, but there was no availability initially when we enquired. Following the unexpected closure of the nursery where our son was attending, we thought we would enquire again and as luck would have it, a space was available. Our son's development at Norfolk Lodge has exceeded our expectations and he loves his time at the nursery. The staff are amazing and always available to chat about anything and thankfully staff turnover is very low, unlike the previous nursery our son attended. The staff have a real bond with the children, which I believe contributes significantly to our son's development there. To boot they have fantastic grounds, to play in and explore. As parents, we are delighted and grateful that our son attends Norfolk Lodge. Seeing our son walk in and give a cuddle to his key workers is simply amazing.

I absolutely love Norfolk Lodge and I couldn’t imagine sending my children anywhere else. The staff are amazing, the resources are fantastic and the learning methods are second to none. My daughter was reading by 3 years old, my son has received extra speech support and my youngest wishes she were already there. Absolutely, the best nursery around.

We are so glad we chose Norfolk Lodge Nursery. All the staff are so dedicated and goes the extra mile for each child. The director, is a very wonderful lady, she knows every child`s name and story. My girls can't wait to go to nursery every morning and even would go on a weekend and learn new things. They also prepare them for school so well, that in reception, they only need to repeat the phonics they learned at nursery (my own experience, with my older child). Green outdoor space, only a huge benefit for children, as during good weather days, they spend so much time outside, playing and reading books under the trees and exploring nature in the woods.

My son's confidence and speaking has improved vastly. The reviews with the teachers are listened to and acted on effectively. Great methods are being used to improve my son's language and number skills along with teaching him how to play. World-class service, always.

My eldest started in September last year and my youngest started this month. They both love it here. My eldest has learnt so much and absolutely loves her teacher. We've had a few days where they have been a bit tearful when dropping off, but within a couple of minutes they've been absolutely fine and I have been able to call and get reassurance from the staff that they are fine.

They do so many activities with the children and the outside and inside areas are great. Such a friendly, wonderful place. I'm so happy my girls are here. My cousin used to attend over 10 years ago and this nursery was recommended by my aunt. The standards have always been high and they still are!

After intensive research, my husband and I chose Norfolk Lodge for our daughter and enrolled her immediately. We made no mistake in our choice. The staff are excellent. They cannot do enough for my daughter who needs a little extra help. She has come on leaps and bounds and we put that down to the exceptional experience of the staff. I’ve never seen an unhappy child in the nursery! So incredibly happy with our choice of nursery.

I have two sons that have attended Norfolk Lodge over the last four years. One is now at primary school (year 2) and the other is coming to the end of his time at Norfolk Lodge and is about to start primary school.

The care and education that both have received have been beyond expectations. Their confidence and social skills are regularly praised by friends and family and their academic grounding is excellent. I give credit for all of this to Norfolk Lodge, as they have given such a strong foundation. The curriculum is well rounded and inspires a fabulous love of learning and curiosity. The outdoor space is superb with lots of grounds and woodland, to explore nature. The staff are warm and so welcoming, that my children have never refused to attend and run in every morning with smiles on their faces. I thoroughly recommend the setting for all children.

We were nervous, like all new parents, to send our son off to nursery. I'm happy to say that he loves it at Norfolk Lodge. We pay a premium compared to other nurseries, however, the outdoor space, the low staff-to-child ratio, and the kindness and effective communication of all who have looked after him has been a tremendous reassurance. He absolutely loves going.

My son loves his time at nursery. He has a gorgeous relationship with his class teachers and a rapport with non-teaching staff. This has not happened by accident - there is a genuine 'family' ethos which is just so valuable. As a parent, I have full confidence that my son is not only in expert care but is participating in a variety of age/skills appropriate activities tailored to his needs and interest. The management team are approachable and responsive. The facilities are excellent. I was delighted with the nursery when my oldest child attended and I feel the same with my second. My third child will be attending too!

Excellent nursery with great staff who have an interest and excellent level of care for the children. We have a very happy girl who is excited to go to nursery. She is learning lots and participates well due to great teachers!

An area of improvement would be the outside garden area to have more facilities. Also for the car park to be maintained to fix pot holes.

My son has been attending for just over a year now. He absolutely loves it and runs in everyday. The nursery has a lovely, warm and inviting culture, which was something really important to us when choosing a nursery. Every day, there is a new activity or experience planned and he seems to be really thriving from the variety. Our regular catch-ups with his key worker are informing and reassuring. The general communications from the staff are also exemplary. We feel so lucky to have been able to secure a place and are so grateful to the staff. Also, my other two children attended the nursery and still talk about it to this day and love seeing their old teachers.

I don't normally write reviews but feel like Bright Horizons Norfolk Lodge Montessori Day Nursery deserves one. My son absolutely loves it there and has been there for the past two years. He has also attended the nursery throughout this past year of uncertainty when it has been allowed to stay open. All the staff I have met, whether they are dealing with my son directly or just for a hello in the car park, are so kind and always helpful and really warm and caring, which is what I want for my child. My son also speaks very fondly about his teachers and I feel that they have a genuine interest in the children and their development. At Norfolk Lodge, you get the outdoor space and woodland which no other nursery in my area is offering. My son comes home and talks about insects, mud and all the outdoor play he's having with his friends and I personally feel that this is priceless. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to anybody. 10/10 from our family.

Suzanne Job Title: Nursery Manager
Suzanne
I started at Norfolk Lodge on 1 st April 1996. One term after the nursery had opened and I've been here ever since. I became the Head Directress in June 2016, having spent 20 years in Jade class.

I am very proud to have achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating in January 2018. We have a wonderful setting and I am honoured to be part of a long-serving, educated team of practitioners that provide our children with excellent care and education.

Both my children had been to a Montessori Nursery and I decided to embark on my Montessori training at Montessori, St Nicholas in Knightsbridge. This was just before being acquired by Bright Horizons.

Deborah Job Title: Deputy Manager
Deborah

Before becoming a Montessori teacher I had originally studied art and design at college and university. After a career change, I decided to follow my heart and become a teacher. I trained at Montessori St Nicholas in Knightsbridge and gained my qualification. I’ve worked in various Montessori settings within London and Hertfordshire.

I started at Norfolk Lodge on 6th September 1996 and I have been here ever since. I became the deputy head in June 2016 alongside my role as a room senior too. I feel we have an amazing setting and I feel privileged to be part of a dedicated team. We are just one big happy family that provides children with excellent care and education, but most of all love and understanding.
