Both our sons attended Pied Piper from a young age, and our youngest is now about to start school. We liked the nursery immediately as it felt warm and homely, and the staff were very welcoming. Over the years both our children have loved attending nursery and there has been a good balance of fun, and
getting the children ready for school. Our boys have formed some lovely friendships at nursery, and have always been well supported by the staff. There have been a lot of improvements to the garden and playrooms over the last couple of years which are great, but ultimately the staff are the most important part of a nursery and they are outstanding. I was diagnosed with cancer when both our boys were at nursery - knowing how well they were looked after took a huge weight off my mind while I was going through treatment. The nursery has been a big part of our lives for several years; I will miss it and would thoroughly recommend it to other parents.

My son has been at Pied Piper Nursery for almost 4 years and my daughter almost 2 years. They have always enjoyed it, had a lovely time and been looked after. The new management has been in place for 2 years and it has been great to see the new investment and experiences that have been put on offer.

My daughter has attended this nursery since she was 10 months old. I couldn’t be happier with the nursery staff and the setting. My daughter is thriving and absolutely loves it. I feel she is being so well cared for and gets to experience a wide range of activities. Would absolutely recommend it to
anyone.

I highly recommend Pied Piper Nursery. We have been delighted with the care that our son has had at Pied Piper over the past 21 months. The staff in the Baby and Toddler rooms have been amazing and very welcoming. Throughout the pandemic, the Toddler room staff have kept us informed and updated at all
times, sharing lovely pictures via the app. The rooms look fantastic following their refurbishment and renovations in 2019/2020. The manager and staff have been of great assistance when my wife and I have had to change arrangements at short notice. I always leave the nursery at ease, knowing that my son is in safe hands.

Lovely nursery, with very friendly and approachable staff and management. My son settled very quickly and loves going there ever since. The staff makes sure he feels comfortable and safe and I really like getting little updates on their app on how his day is going.

Once the restrictions eased in March we were keen to have our little boy start nursery but equally a little anxious as to how he would settle after a very strange last year and having spent little to no time with other children or away from us, his parents. I have been delighted with how well he’s settled
in thanks to the brilliant staff at Pied Piper Nursery. He’s always laughing and smiling when I pick him up, telling me about what’s he’s been up to that day, the projects they’re working on, the songs, the stories they’ve read, pictures painted or games in the garden. The other day he came running out shouting “that was so much fun!” Well done to all the staff! Fantastic nursery!

My son is currently in the preschool room at Pied Piper Nursery and my daughter is in the baby room. Both children love the nursery and are happy and content there. The nursery building itself is a warm and welcoming place, with fun and laughter all around. The staff are fabulous, always very helpful,
kind and caring. Our family particularly likes the family app, it is a safe and secure way to get daily updates and pictures of our children as they enjoy their nursery day. This allows us to see when our children have had naps and what they are enjoying for their lunch. I would highly recommend Pied Piper Nursery to any parent looking for that special place for their child or children to grow and learn.

We have sent both our children to Pied Piper for the past couple of years. The staff are all fantastic in each room (babies, toddlers and preschool). We’ve always felt that the children are safe and well cared for at all times.
The feedback throughout the day via their app is fantastic and keeps us
updated on changes, food and naps.
The outdoor space is fantastic in a city nursery as well and is secluded on a quiet road.
The procedures put in place during the pandemic have been excellent in comparison to other nurseries. The social distanced pick up and drop off is very smooth and safe.
All in all, I would highly recommend to friends for children all the way to school age.

We have been very happy with Pied Piper nursery. My son started in the baby room at 11-months-old and hasn't looked back! He's in the toddler room now. Settling in was well supported, as was a room transition - it was so smooth I wouldn't have known anything was happening. In addition to updates on
the app, there is always personalised feedback on pick up, so parents know how the day has gone.
All the staff are caring, engaged and fun and tailor learning to the individual child; they engage my son's interest in numbers and sign language, and he comes home talking about things he has learned. All the staff seem to know all the children regardless of what room they are in.
Management is accessible and approachable and has done a great job supporting families and keeping communication open while keeping the nursery Covid secure.

My 18-month-old started at Pied Piper when she was 15-months-old and has struggled to settle due to her separation anxiety. The staff at Pied Piper have been excellent at helping her to settle and making her feel comfortable in they’re surroundings and with their staff. She didn’t eat for the first
few weeks and wouldn’t sit at the table, and now she enjoys joining in activities, eating a variety of foods and spending time with the staff. The management team have been very good at reassuring me on her progress along the way.

One of the best nurseries I viewed, and so I let my daughter attend. The family app is updated when something happens like food and nappy changes so you can see when they have been eating throughout the day. As well as they post pictures, and I love seeing what my little one is doing.

Our 8-month-old just recently started at Pied Piper, and he really seems to enjoy it. He had a number of settling days, with great communication from the staff to settle the nerves of a first time mum. He has only been in for a short while, but the staff have been great, and he has settled no problem.
Comes out smiling.

We are delighted we are with the care that our little boy receives at Pied Piper. He really loves all of the staff and skips in every day. We're amazed by the range of activities and how much he's learning. We have great interactions each day with the staff, who always give us a warm welcome. They have
done a terrific job in introducing covid measures and when settling him back into nursery after months off due to the lockdown. Our little boy particularly enjoys the healthy and varied food menu - we apologise that he frequently has three portions of lunch. Huge thanks to the team.

My 7-month baby has started attending Pied Piper nursery full time in September and he is absolutely loving it. The team has been nothing but great to help him settle in. They are also all dedicated to helping meet ours and our baby's needs. Plus, everyone is very friendly, and the nursery life is really
active and creative, with activities organised around special themes (Halloween, Christmas, etc.). I would really recommend this nursery to anyone!

Really happy with the care provided for both my children attending Pied Piper. It is a caring environment with a good mix of staff and I have found they have both come a long way in terms of confidence and learning whilst there.
I feel totally comfortable and happy leaving them there which is a massive
thing for me as they are full time at nursery. The garden especially is a fantastic space.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.154)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.154) out of 10 for Pied Piper Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Pied Piper Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.279 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pied Piper Nursery is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.154
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
