As a busy 90 place nursery it offers a home from home environment, lead by a passionate and caring team, with the nursery filled with hand picked resources (natural where possible) to encourage self-directed play and discovery.

Outside there is a large secure outdoor space including a fire pit, echo garden and outdoor classroom, as well as a separate area for the younger children, to play and enjoy fun.

My daughter attended Murrayfield Nursery since she was 9 months old till she joined P1 in 2017. Even though this nursery is a bit far from our house, we decided to come back to them for our second baby and he has been attending the nursery since April 2021 after his settlement period in March.
We
know kids are in good hands here. The staff are friendly and take good care of kids.
They provide spacious rooms, good food and engage kids in various activities suitable for their age.

Both my grandchildren attend this wonderful nursery and really enjoy their days there. My oldest grandson has made some great friends over the years as he moved from the baby room to big teds. My youngest grandson has just started the nursery and, despite being a lockdown baby, he has settled in well.
The staff always have time for the children and cater to their individual needs. I would highly recommend this nursery and, in fact, it was recommended to me by a colleague and friend who sent his children there.

Being a first time mum and nervous of leaving my baby, especially with Covid-19, I can honestly say the team that I have had the pleasure of meeting are so professional and patient with my little one and me. I can't wait to see how my munchkin develops under the care of the Murrayfield Nursery team.

My daughter joined the nursery when she was seventeen months and now she is four years old nearly graduating from there. The nursery benefits from an Eco garden outdoors where my daughter enjoys watching the fish on their natural pool or trying to find any frogs or varies insects. The nursery staff
encourages outdoor and messy play which we do not do much at home and this helped my daughter to widen her fantasy and vocabulary. Indoors, each age room covers the safety restrictions. Each room has designated areas like story time corner, free play corner and others which gives the ability for my daughter to develop her choice making skills. Staff are always welcome to new ideas and interested in the routine of each kid. We went through different trial periods, especially with my daughter of how long she should sleep in the nursery which made a big change on our lives. Last but not least getting updates through the app about my daughters daily routine is another plus for the nursery.

We have been looking for a nursery for our wee one for a long time. Until we moved in our new house and we just found Murrayfield Nursery might be a good one for our son. The manager helped book the play sessions and managed the settle week very well. The staff here are really helpful, friendly and
responsible. The app is amazing and convenient for parents to know what the schedule for the kids is during the day. Our son has been settled very well and he started to enjoy his day at nursery. We will definitely send our second child here next year.

In the end, we only visited two nurseries before deciding to send our son to the Murrayfield Nursery. From our nursery visit through to four and a half years later, we have always felt a strong family vibe. All staff go the extra mile and we are greeted warmly at drop off and pick up. My son has been
supported by all the staff in the nursery and it has been amazing to see him grow under the nurseries care. To summarise; we looked at two nurseries, found Murrayfield and have never doubted that decision.

We have been using the nursery for the last 2 years. It has been very hard to find fault with the nursery at all within this time. They kept in touch regularly throughout lockdown and the effort they went to not only to welcome the children back but to implement safety measures were phenomenal.
Our
son took a very long time to settle at nursery, we and he were supported through this process sensitively with lots of reassurance. His transitions from room to room have been well thought out and adapted to meet his needs each time.
The nursery staff's enthusiasm for encouraging learning and coming up with new learning experiences continues to impress us on a weekly basis. The daily updates and photos brighten up my day at work.
The variation and imagination used in providing the daily menus is amazing, as well as the real-life cooking experiences.
We don't want nursery to end but also feel confident that our son is going to be well prepared for school when the time comes.

I cannot speak more highly of Murrayfield Nursery. My son is there 5 days a week and he runs in each morning and is so excited to tell me about his day in the evening. I cannot ask for more than that! The daily updates via the Famly app with photos and information about what the children have been up
to that day make such a difference and are so very welcome. The activities the kids get to participate in are wide-ranging and the child-led approach means the kids get a say in what projects they work on. The return to nursery post lockdown was smooth, helped by the fantastic outdoor space available at the nursery.

We are delighted that we picked the nursery for our son who is now almost 4 years old. We joined the nursery when our son was two following a move from Australia. The staff, especially his key worker, helped to make it a smooth transition and settled him in brilliantly. All the educators are wonderful,
warm, kind and very knowledgeable. The management staff have always been extremely helpful and highly professional.

Highly recommended. Lovely and caring staff and extremely well-managed nursery. Each day is packed with loads of exciting activities. My 3-year-old comes home with a happy face and looks forward to going to nursery the next day again. As a parent, it feels so satisfying to see your child is having an
excellent time even when she is away from you.

I cannot recommend Murrayfield Nursery highly enough. Both of my children have used the nursery, with my youngest still attending.
All of the staff and management are so supportive and engaging with the children. I find everyone really professional and friendly to deal with, you can tell how much
they care about the children. I feel very confident that my child is in very safe hands (there has been a time when my child was very unwell but the way that they handled the situation was excellent).
The activities and structure every day are varied and keep my child very happy and entertained.
The on-site chef is a massive bonus, the varied menu is impressive. My child always eats double portions!
For prospective parents thinking about using the nursery, I think they would be very happy in using Murrayfield Nursery.

Murrayfield Nursery has been a haven of wonderful experiences and exploration in which our children have been able to learn and develop life skills in a fun, happy and safe environment. In short, they’ve loved their time there and, whilst our son was sorry to move on in the summer, our daughter positively
bounces with excitement when we drop her off at the gate and is invariably brimming with delight after another enjoyable day at Murrayfield.
The program of on-site activities, day trips, and especially the chance to attend Forest School have given our children great opportunities to gain a good insight into life outside their home bubble. Throughout their time at nursery, the staff have proved time and again, just how highly professional and dedicated they are to their work, and this is reflected in the wonderful relationship they have built up with our children.
In addition to this, I’d also like to give recognition to the excellent support we, as parents, have received from them.

The staff at Murrayfield Nursery are extremely approachable, providing daily feedback on children’s progress and daily activities. Children are cared for and looked after to the highest of standards and any concerns are dealt with immediately. The meals and snacks on offer are nutritious and varied
and staff encourage the children to try new flavours and new foods. I am so pleased with how the nursery has dealt with providing the best of care during this time of COVID restrictions and their communication with parents has been fantastic. I would highly recommend Murrayfield Nursery for all ages of children.

Great nursery, both our children have gone. Really caring environment and can’t praise their handling of COVID-19 more. When it came time for our eldest to graduate to school they offered great support in terms of helping us choose his next step. Out littlest is so happy too. The food is also a great
bonus, and gives us an idea of what new things we can try.

I would recommend Murrayfield Nursery to anyone looking for a high-quality nursery. The staff are all keen, interested in the children, and my little one comes home happy after a day there. They genuinely work on what the children are interested in, when my little one showed an interest in numbers they
encouraged him and played games to develop his skills. I also like how well organised and thought through the nursery is, from the activities to mealtimes and keeping the children’s belongings tidy, the children are learning through the routines and rules of the nursery. They have excellent outdoor play areas, have a look at the Eco garden, it’s wonderful. The food is good and plentiful. Communication with parents is great, they use the Famly app, I get updates on what my little one has eaten, what he has been doing, and photos to illustrate.

This is a great Nursery. My son has been attending for a couple of years now and his speech and confidence has grown. He has made a lot of friends and has a good relationship with the staff. Children learn something new every day and they play outside in the fresh air every day. The staff are very caring
and friendly. They know what they're doing and were able to give him the attention he needed to grow and develop his skills. Freshly cooked healthy meals and snacks are included in the fee so it is one thing less to think about when planning my son's day. I can wholeheartedly recommend the nursery to any parent looking for childcare services.

My child has been at the Murrayfield Nursery for over a year and we have been very pleased with the nursery. The staff are very friendly and really get to know your child, posting daily updates on what they have done and recording learning achievements. One of the reasons why we chose this nursery was
the access to outside space on site - our child loves playing in their garden. But they’ve also got access to the Scout Hall next door for those wet days when the garden is not possible - perfect for the kids to run around! There is a cook on-site, which means meals are cooked freshly and they have a varied menu which helps the children to eat lots of different flavours and textures. While the nursery was closed during COVID-19, the staff were excellent at posting daily activities and ideas for the children to try at home. I was extremely impressed by how they handled the whole situation! I would thoroughly recommend the nursery to others.

I haven’t hesitated to recommend Murrayfield Nursery to friends and family. When we were first shown round it was clear it was head and shoulders above other nurseries we had seen. Both my children now attend and love it. They have so much fun and learn so much and are always doing different activities.
The staff are excellent, know the children really well, and always go out of their way to take time to chat to you and help you if your children have any problems/ you have any queries.
The nurseries response to Covid -19 has been really good and I am completely happy to send my children in again.
All of there food is cooked on-site, and are really nutritious. My children absolutely love the food!

I haven’t hesitated in recommending the Murrayfield nursery to others. The staff are what make the nursery so special, the warm welcome on arrival making both my children feel safe, the amazing activities put on throughout the day and the feedback we as parents receive through the children’s online
learning journals. All of this and the excited chat from my son telling me all about his day when I go to pick him up makes me know that he has been in excellent hands. The nursery always goes above and beyond, all the staff have been truly incredibly since reopening after the lockdown in July. Nothing is ever too much of a problem. Oh and not to forget, the in house chef makes delicious fresh food for the children every day, the smells coming from the kitchen are amazing!

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.206)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.206) out of 10 for Murrayfield Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.806 for Murrayfield Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (88 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.806
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Murrayfield Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 number of registered child places is 18. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 18 = 0.5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
