Our son started nursery at the beginning of January this year. At first it was difficult for him to be away from us during the day, but he got used to it just within a few weeks. Now he loves going and he always smiles when we arrive to nursery, he is happy to go in. The staff are very nice and caring and I can see that our boy has built a connection with them. They always update us about his day, what he has learnt and if there are any issues. We've had a very positive experience with this nursery and I would recommend it to anyone.
I feel the nursery is somewhere where a child can feel safe and also enjoy spending time with children of a similar age. Great opportunity to enhance social skills and also learn through their daily activities. Children also get to explore outside in the garden and the local surrounding area.
All my children have gone to Pear Tree Nursery Church Street and they loved it. Always came out with a huge smile and was full of excitement. They would surprise me with new nursery rhymes and tell me shapes and colours which they didn’t know before. I will continue to use Church Street for my newborn when he’s ready to go, all the girls are excellent and trustworthy and having the app with regular updates is a good way of seeing what the kids have been doing that day.
Our child joined not long after some serious incidents which did cause us real concern. We asked the nursery to reassure us, however unfortunately this hasn’t happened. The staff at the nursery are very nice and our child does seem to enjoy going to the nursery and the app is nice to have when seeking updates. However, this is probably as far as our positive feedback goes. Recently the nursery group decided to replace the daily freshly cooked food with mass-produced, frozen ready meals from a catering company which was a real disappointment. We raised our concerns which haven’t had any impact on the nursery continuing with them. The Inspectorate reports received within the nursery group last year did cause concern and to date, we haven’t been given the chance to discuss our concerns directly. Instead, we have been asked to leave feedback on this website rather than speaking to us about the reports. Lack of communication, on key issues, is our biggest concern with the nursery.
We would be happy to facilitate a meeting with you to discuss this further, we had hoped our previous correspondence had reasoned our change to a respected catering company.

Our child has always been very happy and has thrived here since having started at the age of six months, he is now almost age three. The staff are wonderful and do a fantastic job. Our second child will be starting next month.
The nursery has been through a lot of change over the last few months however they have ensured this has not affected the little ones. The immediate management (the ones we see) are doing a super job.
Activities could be a little more tailored towards the early years curriculum as they can be quite repetitive however our little one comes bounding out daily full of beans, often not wanting to leave!
Thanks for everything you do for our children.
The Church Street branch of Pear Tree Nursery has been a wonderful place for my son to be. He’s always asking to see the staff and go there on his days off and he’s always beyond excited when we are on our way there. I feel like his specific needs are met whilst he’s at nursery and he has formed close bonds with the staff. I always feel informed at pick up about how his day has been and any questions I have are always answered. Also having the app to follow during the day to see what he has been up to is very helpful.
My child has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Pear Tree Nursery Church Street. He has fun every day and looks forward to playing with his friends. Now that he is starting to talk more, he comes home telling me what he does. The staff are all kind and lovely and do their best to cater to my child's needs. He has his favourite staff who I believe gives a lot of love and attention to him. As in any setting, there are sometimes issues that crop up but any time that something does crop up, I feel comfortable talking with any of the staff and my concerns are immediately seen to and changed as necessary. I could go on and on about the great things happening.
Pear Tree Nursery in Church Street is terrific. The resources are excellent. They are always doing new things with the kids. But more than anything, the staff are terrific. Everyone is very caring, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and kind. We have two boys in the nursery, in different rooms. We are very pleased with how they are developing.
The staff at the nursery are fantastic, and the nursery has excellent facilities. Our son absolutely loves going and really enjoys the time they spend exploring outside. He always comes home happy, tired and well-fed. Really pleased with the nursery and would recommend it highly. Thank you.
Cosy and friendly nursery, with lovely setting and staff. Lots of varied activities and my child loves it. Staff were really caring and supportive when initially settling in, which was complicated by Covid restrictions. Feel very confident in Church Street and would recommend.
My 17-month-old daughter absolutely loves attending this nursery - she has such a great relationship with the staff that she often says all their names while she is at home and asks to go to nursery on her days off! I have complete confidence that she is well looked after, stimulated and encouraged while she is there. The communication is also excellent via the Famly app, I always know exactly what she’s done, when she’s napped and eaten (and what she ate), had her nappy changed, etc and can see photos. Highly recommend!
Pear Tree Nursery provides a caring, fun and friendly environment for my son. They are great at communicating with parents and very flexible. I would highly recommend anyone looking for childcare to use Pear Tree.
We recently moved house and I was worried about my little boy, who can be shy, moving to a new nursery at the age of 4. He settled in to Pear Tree Nursery Church Street really quickly and absolutely loves going to nursery. The staff were always available to let me know how he was getting on and really helped him settle in.
My son has progressed very well since starting nursery and throughout his time at nursery his speech, learning and understanding is always improving, I am very pleased with his development. My son's confidence has come a long way too. I am very pleased with the nursery.
My daughter loves her time at the nursery, the staff have made every effort to get to know my daughter and every day she comes back with stories on her fun and interesting games as ways to learn. We will also miss the nursery once my daughter makes the transition to primary school this year.
This has been a fantastic experience for our two boys this far. They joined in the first lockdown so difficult circumstances which the manager and her team handled well. The staff are friendly, caring and proactive. The days are hugely varied, lots of time is spent outside and our two clearly love it.
Our son has been at the nursery for 9 months and is really enjoying it. We have signed our daughter up to start when she is 11 months. They spend a lot of time outside and he is constantly surprising us with the things he is learning at nursery. He loves spending time with his friends and talks about them a lot. The team were very welcoming and have been excellent at communicating with us over this last year, which has been difficult for everyone.
This really is an exceptionally good nursery. The staff do absolutely everything they can for the kids, and their passion for helping them develop shines through every day. The range of activities is impressive, with children encouraged to make the most of their time every day. Highly recommend.
