Reviews

9.3 First Class Nursery has a Review Score of 9.3 (9.268)

The Review Score of 9.3 (maximum of 10) for First Class Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 14 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for First Class Nursery in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.435 for First Class Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (77 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 168 Ratings = 4.435

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Day Nursery to friends and family?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.833 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for First Class Nursery is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 14.4 positive Reviews (72 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 12 Reviews ÷ 14.4 Target = 0.833

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Since my son has started at the nursery, he has built up really good bonds with the staff in the baby room. Only disappointment is, that there has been a large turn around in staff within the last few months. Despite this, my son still really enjoys his nursery days and the quarterly reviews are great for us to make suggestions regarding next stages of learning, and find out what he has been up to lately ie has he started to do something which we have missed/projects etc.

The space, staff and resources in the baby room are ideal. My daughter seemed to make strong bonds with the staff there and enjoyed her time playing with the variety of toys.
I find since moving through to the toddler room, space is cramped and it is very noisy with lots of older children-this is a lot for a 2-year-old to cope with.

After many months of looking for daycare for my son, I ended up picking this one and I am so pleased with my choice.
The nursery went through a change of management team after my son started the nursery BUT the staff are as nice, caring, and welcoming as the previous team. The nursery is quite big with a nice garden, it has lots of light and is very clean. They have a very busy schedule through the week, from music, PE, cooking and baking to playing in the garden and visiting the nearby library and playgrounds. My son absolutely loves it and can't wait to go back to school (as he says ;)) on Mondays. Highly recommend it!

I think the staff are very friendly and caring, they provide a good standard of care. There are also good activities to engage the children's in throughout the day. I am happy with my child's development and support staff have given her.

Outstanding nursery. I have two children there. They love the first class nursery and are very settled there. Staff members have been very helpful through and through. My son will really miss everyone when he starts primary school next month. They have really been helpful with the transition process. I highly recommend this nursery.

I could not be happier with the care my child receives. The staff are always friendly and approachable and involve me in developing my child's learning journey. My child enjoys going to nursery each morning and always has lots to tell me at pick up time. It is a well-run nursery which I would recommend to others.

My daughter has attending First Class Nursery for over a year. I am happy with the level of care and service she receives there. The nursery itself is always clean and well looked after and all the children seem to have a good relationship with the staff.
The staff are always very warm, helpful and understanding of any concerns/requests.
I had concerns at one stage due to several consistent staff members moving on however their replacements have been brilliant and if anything the running of the classroom seems more organised/efficient.
It's a lovely environment to leave your child in and my daughter loves it!

My son has been going to First Class Nursery baby side since January and he absolutely loves it. At first, we had a few minor concerns but since the staff change, we cannot fault it. He absolutely loves his key worker and I could not ask for anyone better. She is so enthusiastic and immediately tells my partner and I all the details of his day regarding food, naps, activities without us having to pry the information from her. Both her and the management are very approachable and I feel at ease leaving my baby in their care. He often puts his arms out to them when he sees them which is an excellent sign as he always does that to people he truly loves.

My daughter has attended First Class Nursery for almost 4 years. I can honestly say, it has been amazing from start to finish.
The staff are attentive, caring, and put their all into caring for the children and making their days as fun-filled as possible. There were days when I would go to pick my daughter up, and she would cry as she wouldn't want to leave!
The curriculum that they follow is outstanding. The in-depth knowledge gained in various areas from doing projects on an assortment of topics has been fantastic.
The nursery itself is clean, spacious, and has a wide variety of toys for the children to play with. It is safe, secure and enclosed.
The children are fed nutritious, varied meals every day. They are home cooked and full of flavour.
I would recommend this nursery to anyone. Thank you for taking such good care of my daughter for all of these years, and we will miss you all when she goes to school!

Our experience so far is good. Our daughter is well adapted to the nursery and to all the staff. There is a great variety of toys to play with and we enjoy that the food is home cooked. The nursery was very flexible and agreed to use reusable nappies. There is a good park and it is not close to the main entrance so the children seem safer. The area where the nursery is located is quiet and very green.

My son has been enrolled in First Class Nursery since November 2015 and I am thrilled at how well he has done. All the staff take time to get to know your child and your family and daily spend time with you making sure everything is ok. My son has really benefited from the experience he is gaining from his Nursery and I drop him off knowing that he is going to have a great day playing with his friends and learning new experiences.
It is great seeing him run up to the door and eagerly want to greet his friends, staff included - always a hug for his favorite girls as he is such a flirt!
My son has an allergy to milk and I am reassured that every staff member is aware of this and his needs are catered to.
