Busy Bees Melrose offers a warm and welcoming environment where every child is encouraged to learn and play. Throughout the nursery you will find many exciting and engaging areas for all children to explore, promoting development in all areas in a space where they feel safe and secure.

The nursery aims to take a natural approach, with elements such as wooden play kitchens, wooden logs for children to sit on, and recycled wooden pallets for toy and book storage focused on promoting children's natural curiosity and imagination. Children also benefit from an exciting outdoor area, offering them endless opportunities to explore their imagination outdoors.

The enthusiastic nursery team provide the support and care your child needs throughout their developmental journey. You can keep up to date with your child’s development through the Busy Bees app, where the staff will provide regular updates with what your little one is getting up to during the day and any milestones they may reach.

Both my older two (and my baby starting soon) really enjoyed and enjoy Busy Bees.
The outdoor space is fantastic with clean, fresh air and they are always out (much to my washing machine's annoyance!) The food is great. All made on-site and a great variety of healthy food. I like that they all eat
together so that there is a community within the centre.
The ladies are caring and show genuine interest in what my child wants to do and areas for growth.
The centre director is responsive, understanding, caring and reliable.
The communication from the room is definitely improving, especially with the new app. The online booking system via the app really works for us. I have and would recommend to families. It's more expensive than other places but I'm very happy with the centre.

Our daughter joined the nursery last summer. She has settled in well, building relationships with the staff and looks forward to going each week. We love getting daily updates of her day on the app. We feel reassured knowing she's enjoying herself and keeping busy with a wide range of activities which

Busy Bees Melrose is a fantastic nursery. They provide wonderful learning opportunities for my child and he genuinely loves being there. The staff are amazing and show each child care and affection while also ensuring they are learning how to be around others and how to handle emotions. They provide
all meals and snacks which are freshly prepared on the premises and this really relives a lot of stress of meal prepping. Both my children have gone to busy bees Melrose and I cannot recommend them enough.

Fabulous nursery. My girl loves her nursery days. The staff are all exceptionally kind and attentive. We were given so much help and patience on her settling days before she started and once we got going there was no stopping her. There are always fun learning activities on and a great garden that she
loves spending time in. They've recently got a new app so we are up to date with the fun activity for the day and what tasty snacks are on the menu for that day.
Facilities are all fairly new, well serviced and it feels like a nice place to drop my child for the day. They are always updating the rooms to keep things interesting for everyone.
Fully recommend this nursery. So happy I picked here.

Cannot explain how much both myself and my son love Busy Bees Melrose. Every day we are welcomed with smiles.
There is always a great variety of activities for the children to do. They get a great amount of outdoor time too.

Great nursery. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I know my child is in good hands when I drop him off at Busy Bees. He always has a good time and seems really happy to be there. I would highly recommend Busy Bees Melrose.

The nursery staff have all been brilliant with our child and have worked with us to improve our child's behaviour and support him in becoming more mature and managing his feelings. Our child has been supported to develop and the staff have helped us with ideas and ways to help manage and general support.
They have supported our child in trying to broaden his diet also.

Our two little ones have both been at Busy Bees since they were very small and we've always been really happy with how well looked after they are. The staff have great relationships with the kids and are always devising fun and interesting activities for them. They spend lots of time outside when the
weather isn't too bad. They always have nutritious, well-balanced meals that are prepared on-site. The management team are very supportive and helpful and well-organised. I would highly recommend Busy Bees Melrose.

My son began at Busy Bees Melrose when he was just 5 months old, he is now almost 3 and loves coming to nursery to see his friends and all the staff. The nursery is like day and night since a member of staff began as manager last year. The environment is breathtakingly calm, beautiful and nurturing.
The staff know my son extremely well and I can see how much they all care for him. The experiences shared on the app are wonderful, where they track his learning, I love that I can look back on him in the baby room and compare to now. The staff have gone out of their way over the years to help myself and my son with transitions, dietary issues and with things we have needed support with at home. The manager and her staff team are always so happy to see you, you can feel the love the moment you come through the door. We are very grateful for Busy Bees Melrose for helping our little boy be the curious and loving boy he is today, setting him up with the best start in life, truly.

This nursery has a very friendly and safe environment. The children are offered plenty of choices regarding activities. The food is healthy and varied. The app is always updated and very useful and any questions are promptly answered by staff. Can't ask for more from this nursery. Five-star.

My son has attended Busy Bees Melrose since he was nine months old - he is now three. In this time he has received nothing but outstanding care from everyone involved. Across the four different rooms, he has attended (as he has grown) the staff have all had the same high levels of professionalism and
care. He has strong relationships with lots of the staff and loves going in every day. His development has also been encouraged at each stage. I’m really pleased with the decision we made when choosing Busy Bees.

Busy Bees Melrose is a fantastic nursery, it is well organised, very clean and secure. The children have lots of educational and outdoor activities which promotes their learning and physical development.
The staff are fantastic, very friendly, supportive and always helpful. The girls have done an excellent
job with my son's progress and we are very pleased with the care and love they show him. Our son loves Busy Bees and he is always cheerful to go back.
We highly recommend Busy Bees Melrose for any parent who is looking for peace of mind knowing that their child is best cared for.

Both my husband and I are key workers for the NHS and we would not have been able to cope without the support and security we are provided by the staff at Melrose Busy Bees. Our eldest son attended before starting school last year and I can honestly say that the staff and facilities are amazing. They
really take the time to get to know your children making the children happy and excited to attend nursery.

I chose Busy Bees at Melrose as it was very close to my workplace. We had a few settle sessions and they went very well. Staff have been very supportive of our daughter. There were regular updates about her progress, lots of time playing outdoors. They have great kitchen staff and offer a good variety
of food for the kids. She has really enjoyed her time in Busy Bees and I would definitely recommend this nursery to other.

I can not recommend Busy Bees, Melrose highly enough. From the incredible staff to the lovely rooms and fantastic activities for the little ones, this nursery is absolutely wonderful. My little one is very small but the team take exceptional care of him and have been nothing but supportive and understanding.
They’ve accommodated us and never made us feel as though any of our questions are silly. We’re always given a full rundown at the end of the day about how he’s been and they are always so pleased to see him. I feel as though it is a proper little community and I’m so glad that we can be part of it.

We are really happy with Busy Bees. Our little boy loved his old nursery but seems even happier here - as soon as he sees it he throws his arms in the air and yells ‘nursery!’ He talks about the staff as his friends and seems to have an amazing time every day doing all sorts of activities that we probably
just wouldn’t have their energy, let alone the imagination to do with him.
He is outside almost every day playing in the sandbox or in wigwams made out of branches which he really loves. He eats really well and the staff are excellent at getting him to try new things but don’t seem stressed when he doesn’t want to eat things and will give him something else instead. I don’t think we could be any happier with it, thanks to everyone there.

All the staff at Busy Bees have been so cheerful, welcoming, attentive and loving, and have made us feel very special. Fantastic, well equipped, friendly, helpful, approachable, kind, fun, accommodating nursery that I would highly recommend to anyone who asked. Can't fault the place. Both my sons attend Busy Bees, Melrose and I leave them in in the morning knowing they are spending the day in a very happy, caring and safe environment. The staff are so friendly and genuinely care for the children, developing special bonds with them.
The management of the nursery is fantastic.
The
outside space is particularly good as are the meals served.
My only issue is parents having to pay fees on days when the nursery makes the decision to close eg bank holidays, snow days, when the boiler was broken. I think this policy should be revised.

My name is Sara Farquharson, and I have been the Centre Director at Busy Bees Melrose since April 2023.


I first joined Busy Bees in January 201,7 working in Melrose as 3rd in charge and Early Years Rep I then progressed to Quality Advisor for the company, supporting across the UK and Channel Islands with quality provision and improvements. I am truly honoured to say that those extraordinary opportunities over those 6 years have meant that I've been able to return to Melrose as Centre Director with a wealth of experience and passion to support our fantastic team and really give every child in our care the best start in life.


With a focus on empowering ourselves with knowledge and creating wonderful environments that inspire curiosity, creativity and imaginative play, we work together to ensure Busy Bees Melrose offers the very best childcare provision.
