My little girl loves Acorns. They have the right balance of play and learning. The staff are always helpful my little girl has blossomed since going there.
Acorns is one of the best decisions we’ve made.
Both my children have attended Acorns and I can't praise the staff highly enough. My children are safe and happy and enjoy a range of activities I could never replicate at home.
Acorns is a great place to send your child. It is great value for money and the children seem to love going there. The staff are very friendly and professional too.
My daughter has loved her time at Acorns. The space is light, fun and entertaining - there is always something new and varied for the children. The things they put on for Christmas/Mothers day etc are amazing - so lovely for the family to feel so welcome in the children's space. The outdoor space is fantastic - great to have grass and cannot wait until my daughter is old enough to start Forest School. So pleased that she's had all these fantastic experiences at Oakfield Street Acorns.
The staff are very attentive and welcoming. My child is always excited to go and loves the variety of activities.
But she loves being at Acorns Oakfield Street. The staff have been incredible and made the transition as seamless and painless as possible. She loves Fluffy the tortoise, the Forest School, the myriad of activities during free flow and we all love the book library and report cards.
We are so grateful to the nursery and its staff for taking such good care of our girl and also for being so welcoming and generous to us as parents. Plus this nursery does the best Christmas concert by far.
The thought, creativity and love that's put into every activity this nursery does it astounding. We feel privileged to have our daughter attending here.
Thank you.
The teachers are very friendly and patient. It has kids only above 2 years old or close to 2. The kids below 2 go to the sister nursey in the next street. My daughter went to this nursery when she was close to 2. With the help from teachers she settled in quickly and after 2 months she really liked going. The food is very fresh and they have snack time and afternoon tea. The food they provide has a good balance with meat, veg and fruit. They never provide junk food like some other nurseries. They have a specific cook and cleaning staff. So the teachers don't do the cleaning. The nursery is always clean. They have a proper sized garden, two free flows every day, so the kids can spend a lot of time outdoors. Highly recommended to other parents.
My son has been at Oakfield Street since August 2018 and was previously at their sister nursery. During his time here he has thrived and developed close relationships with key staff and begun to develop his first friendships with the children in his group. The range of activities and resources on offer each day is excellent and the outdoor facilities are particularly impressive. I would recommend to other parents.
I was extremely sad when my daughter had to leave.
Highly recommended!
My daughter has attended Acorns for about two years now and just loves it. The activities are varied and her meals are nutritious and diverse. We have regular updates about activities and events and the nursery and are kept up to date with her development progress with photos and observations.
Both of my children have attended this nursery and both have been extremely happy and well cared for.
This is a wonderful nursery. The manager and her staff do an amazing job of looking after my daughter. She has the most wonderful time there and has developed so much since she started. I feel that she is safe and loved (I don’t worry about her at all when she is there which is priceless), but also positively challenged to take on tasks that support her learning. My daughter has been there since she was 2 and I am going to miss the nursery when she goes to school later this year. All of the staff are fantastic, she has made some lovely friends and the community of parents is also lovely. I honestly do not have a negative thing to say about Oakfield Street and have recommended the nursery to several people already.
My daughter has attended Acorns from 9 months old on a full-time basis, building friendships with her peers and staff.
Every day is a big adventure from flying in the rocket to space or being a princess in the castle she loves role play.
The new spring and summer menu has arrived today she enjoyed a beef and mushroom pie, creamy mash potato, peas and carrots followed by mango and pears.
The staff at Acorns are fantastic, they know every single child and exactly whose boots belong to who, whose soft toy is whose, who is allergic to what. They are so engaged with the children and make sure to welcome them in and settle them into their groups.
The facilities at the nursery are fantastic, lots of different rooms/sections for them including outdoor sections so they can ride bikes, go on a small slide, or go to "forest school" in the back garden. There's also a covered outdoor activity area so on mildly rainy days they can still get fresh air. Inside, their eating area is in a beautiful little conservatory area. The food is high quality -- the nursery has recently won an award for healthy eating.
The children undertake so many interesting activities - plenty of activities, crafts, stories, sports, role play, learning Welsh, etc. all in line with a sort of curriculum - but then also have time for free flow playing.
Thank you Acorns for taking such great care!
My daughter has been at Oakfield Street Acorns (Roath) for 2 years and I’ve been extremely happy with the care, attention, learning and development she receives. She enjoys every single day. The staff are particularly attentive to her needs and development and I love the bond she has with her key workers.
A lovely, friendly, well-resourced nursery. They offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including Forest school for the pre-school group, which my son loves. The staff are caring and friendly and get to know the children's needs, personalities and likes/dislikes really well. I have sent both of my children to this nursery, the first was 5 years ago, and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a nursery for their child.
