Selca Day Nursery is a warm and welcoming private day nursery located in the heart of Llanharan. The nursery provides high-quality childcare from 6:45am to 6:00pm all year round, closing only on bank holidays, with both full-time and part-time places available to suit the needs of families.

Since opening in 2003, Selca Day Nursery has become a trusted and valued part of the local community. The setting offers a happy, homely environment where children feel safe, secure, and confident to be themselves. A bright and spacious space, alongside an experienced team, ensures every child is known as an individual and supported with care and understanding. Learning at Selca Day Nursery is centred around play. Children are encouraged to explore their interests, be creative, and follow their natural curiosity in a relaxed and nurturing environment, allowing them to learn and develop at their own pace without pressure.

Healthy eating is an important part of daily life at the nursery. Holding a 5-star food hygiene rating (December 2025), Selca Day Nursery provides nutritious, balanced meals that support children’s growth while helping them develop positive habits from an early age.

My daughter has been attending Selca since she was ten months old. She's now three and ready to move onto school in September, but she'll be back for wrap around! She absolutely loves it at nursery. The staff are amazing, activities are fun and educational. They have a lovely little garden, which is
used often and a park nearby. Communication with parents is great, the app for reports works well, and it's nice to see photos of her having fun in the nursery.

Selca Day Nursery is a fantastic nursery. My son started back in March 2017, and my daughter is there now. I have never had any problems with the nursery in all that time. I consider the staff, past and present, as friends and always felt that they really do care for the children. I would highly recommend
Selca to anyone looking for childcare.

Always patient and great. Always got time and keep you informed, the staff always get in touch if needed. My children are always happy to go in and come home happy too. The staff are very gentle and understanding with one of my children who struggle especially.

Great staff. A fantastic setting for fun and learning. My little girl benefits so much from the time she's spent here. From the understanding shown during the settling in sessions to the daily reports I get sent, I'm always confident my little one is safe, looked after and happy. She gets opportunities
to learn about lots of different topics and gets messy too! The food menu is fab with loads of variety and healthy choices. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant nursery. My daughter loves it, and it’s the only thing that works to get her out of bed! Really could not be happier with this nursery. They do so much with the children, and it surprises me every day the amount she is learning through play!

Our son loves it at nursery. They fit so much into each day with lovely projects week by week. He has learnt so much, I'm always surprised with what he comes out with.
At home, he is a fussy eater but eats everything at nursery, and I like the menu they have for the kids.
I am contacted if he has
an accident and feel he's in very safe hands when this has happened.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, I am Millie and I am the Nursery Manager at Selca Day Nursery – Llanharan. I lead a fantastic team at Llanharan, in which we provide and offer a home-from-home environment for all children in our care.


I am a passionate Manager and thrive to support my team with their development and the quality care they provide for the children. I joined Selca in 2018 as a Nursery Apprentice where I have since completed my Level 2 and my Level 3 in childcare. I have worked in several roles within my setting. Firstly the Baby Room Leader to many children who are now thriving in big school, I have overseen the wider setting working as a Team Leader and now, the Nursery Manager. I have since completed my Level 3 in Play Work and am currently undergoing my Level 4 in Leadership and Management.


I am proud of the exciting and safe environment we create for the children and am passionate about leading and supporting my team to provide the best development and childcare for our children.

I joined SELCA in 2022 and have loved every step of my journey, working my way up to Deputy Manager. I truly enjoy working in a nursery because I get to support children as they learn, explore, and grow every day. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing their little achievements and happy smiles.


As Deputy Manager, I work alongside Millie to support the team, oversee daily routines, and ensure the nursery is a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for every child. I love being part of a team that values creativity, care, and development as much as I do.
