Located in Llanharan, Selca Day Nursery provides day care from 6:45am - 6pm year round, closing only for bank holidays. Full and part time places are available, as well as breakfast and after school clubs, ensuring families have reliable and flexible options.

Since their opening in 2003, the nursery has established a great reputation in the local area. They have a bright and spacious environment and an experienced team who work hard to provide engaging and stimulating activities for all children. They focus on learning through play, ensuring children have the opportunity to be creative and curious without experiences being overly structured.

Our little one has been going to Selca full time since January. The staff are really good with him and he has an absolute blast everyday. We get regular updates on his activities and feeding etc. And lots of lovely pictures and videos. They also ask assist his development and we are very much looking
forward to parents evening soon. He has grown in confidence already and is a very happy little boy. Thanks guys!

The wonderful team at Selca provide wraparound care for my little boy from school five days a week. They are so welcoming and accommodating and have really taken the time to help my child adjust to a new nursery setting. They have gotten to know my son and vice versa since opening, and he absolutely
loves it there! The food they provide is amazing; they always do extra little activities with the kids, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with Selca!
They have amazing resources, make craft objects, and provide excellent space for learning and play!
On the management side, they are quick to respond to emails and always so lovely.

My children have been using Selca Day Nursery for around four years. My eldest went to Llanharan, and my son is now in the sister one. I can honestly say I would recommend the nursery to anyone. Every single member of staff has always been pleasant, enthusiastic and welcoming to our children and us.
I have never once felt anxious leaving the children there and knowing they are in the best hands.
The children have always had fun, and I love the daily pictures/updates. Communication is excellent and feels lucky that the children have such a lovely nursery on our doorstep.

My little boy is non-verbal and so I was apprehensive about leaving him in a nursery setting. However, the wonderful staff at Selca Day Nursery have made him feel comfortable and adapted ways that work well with my little fella. He absolutely loves one member of staff in particular, and I feel his time
with Selca Day Nursery has helped him to be able to settle into a school setting more easily when the time comes. There are daily reports via an app on my phone which usually include photos so I can see what fun he's been up to. I use the free childcare offer but unlike some nurseries, he has meals and snacks included in his day without any extra cost to myself. Overall I would highly recommend Selca Day Nursery to anyone looking for childcare within the Llanharan area.

My son has attended for 8 years and due to this has attended full days from 8 months old to wrap around, breakfast club and after school club. My 18 month old also now attends. Amazing staff, caring, flexible and understanding. Children are always happy there and are messy coming home which shows how
much fun they have had with activities and Learning through play. There have been many improvements over the years which have always had the children at the heart which is exactly how it should be and they have directly benefited the children. I have to mention how outstanding the manager is and has been over the last 8 years, you are an asset to the nursery.

Such a lovely nursery. My little girl has been attending since October 2021 and goes 3 days a week. On the days that she doesn't go she misses it. The staff at Selca are lovely and clearly passionate about what they do. My little girl is in the butterflies class and has come on so much since starting
there. I love that they update on an app each day and send individual photos of what she has been doing each day along with a detailed description including what she has been learning, how she's been feeling and what she has eaten. Each month they concentrate on a different topic, which makes the little ones so inquisitive and interested, every time I collect my little girl from Selca she is so excited to tell me about what she has learned that day. Thank you so much for creating such a welcoming, educational environment for my little girl.

Our 10-month-old daughter has settled so well into nursery since starting in February! We were worried about her settling as she is very attached to her mum, but within a couple of weeks, she has settled amazingly into the baby room! She loves all the other children in her room and adores the baby room
staff! We honestly can’t thank the three staff in the baby room enough for settling her in so well, she doesn’t even look back and cry anymore when being handed over! We love seeing all the pictures that the staff upload of her every day carrying out activities! We have saved every photo from her first session until now in an album for us to look back on! We love how much the staff go above and beyond to make sure she is happy and contented every time she’s in the nursery! We always feel so relaxed dropping her off and know she is having fun! They have also been a great help with her weaning and trying new foods!

My children love the nursery!
I haven’t actually seen the nursery facilities as children started during Covid, but the photos look lovely!
The app always shows activities, pictures and information.
I have got to know some of the staff members through pick up and drop off but a lot of staff I am
still unaware of their names.

Our son has such fun at nursery! There are so many activities, crafts and outings to keep him entertained and to help with his development and learning. The staff are so friendly and enthusiastic, and this has really helped our son to settle in quickly.

Since my child started in Selca just after her first birthday, she has flourished! She adores all the staff, and we’ve always been incredibly impressed with the care and facilities in the setting. We’ve never had any concerns whatsoever in the almost 2-years she’s been coming.
The menu is adventurous
compared to some of the types of food served to small children in other settings, which we really appreciate as it mirrors what we try and encourage at home in hopes of avoiding having another fussy eater, which so far, seems to be working!
She's just received her school place offer and will be starting in September, and honestly, I feel everyone at Selca has done an amazing job of preparing her for school, particularly through the pandemic in which most of her little life has been lived through. We can’t fault the nursery, facilities or staff. Keep doing what you do!

The nursery and the staff there are excellent! Always willing to chat about both of my daughters and any progress or issues they are having.
Very supportive with different stages, such as potty training or the transition to school.

My daughter has been attending Selca since she was ten months old. She's now three and ready to move onto school in September, but she'll be back for wrap around! She absolutely loves it at nursery. The staff are amazing, activities are fun and educational. They have a lovely little garden, which is
used often and a park nearby. Communication with parents is great, the app for reports works well, and it's nice to see photos of her having fun in the nursery.

Selca Day Nursery is a fantastic nursery. My son started back in March 2017, and my daughter is there now. I have never had any problems with the nursery in all that time. Always patient and great. Always got time and keep you informed, the staff always get in touch if needed. My children are always happy to go in and come home happy too. The staff are very gentle and understanding with one of my children who struggle especially.

Great staff. A fantastic setting for fun and learning. My little girl benefits so much from the time she's spent here. From the understanding shown during the settling in sessions to the daily reports I get sent, I'm always confident my little one is safe, looked after and happy. She gets opportunities
to learn about lots of different topics and gets messy too! The food menu is fab with loads of variety and healthy choices. Highly recommended.

Our son loves it at nursery. They fit so much into each day with lovely projects week by week. He has learnt so much, I'm always surprised with what he comes out with.
At home, he is a fussy eater but eats everything at nursery, and I like the menu they have for the kids.
I am contacted if he has
an accident and feel he's in very safe hands when this has happened.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, I am Millie and I am the Nursery Manager at Selca Day Nursery – Llanharan. I lead a fantastic team at Llanharan, in which we provide and offer a home-from-home environment for all children in our care.


I am a passionate Manager and thrive to support my team with their development and the quality care they provide for the children. I joined Selca in 2018 as a Nursery Apprentice where I have since completed my Level 2 and my Level 3 in childcare. I have worked in several roles within my setting. Firstly the Baby Room Leader to many children who are now thriving in big school, I have overseen the wider setting working as a Team Leader and now, the Nursery Manager. I have since completed my Level 3 in Play Work and am currently undergoing my Level 4 in Leadership and Management.


I am proud of the exciting and safe environment we create for the children and am passionate about leading and supporting my team to provide the best development and childcare for our children.
