Located just two minutes off the junction of the A1 and A690 in Durham, Clever Clogs Belmont provides 96 nursery childcare places for 0-5 year olds and 26 out of school places, including before and after-school and holiday clubs, for schoolchildren up to the age of 11.

Nursery care is provided in spacious rooms designed to complement the various stages of the Early Years Foundation Stage, with children progressing from room to room as they develop their learning.

My child has recently started Clever Clogs Nusery and I have see such improvement with his development of speech and interaction with others.
They have a structured day, which enables the child to adapt easily and the management team are always on hand to help with anything.

My grandchildren have not attended the nursery for long, after changing childcare. The staff have been excellent, couldn’t have made the transition any easier, the staff are always welcoming and smiling and you can see that they’re passionate about the roles, they allow the children to express themselves
and develop for their age. The rooms are age-appropriate and clean and lots of activities for the children. My grandchildren are always happy going in and when being picked up. I think the nursery is good value for what you pay and you can see the staff and management make the nursery a nice environment. Excellent nursery for any child to attend.

My child has attended fun club during the holidays and what a great club this is for the children. There are some great activities daily and the staff are amazing.
This really gave me peace of mind each day bringing my child to Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont).

Thank you for welcoming my son into the nursery! All of the staff were really lovely and made me feel very relaxed when settling my son into the baby room. The staff were very hands and my son had lots of fun whilst on his visit, thank you to everyone!

My daughter started the nursery in February 2023. From the initial visit to the nursery I was put at ease by the staff members, they really have a good understanding of child development and how you can support your children at home.
The garden is lovely and my daughter has had lots of fun playing
in the mud kitchen and the forest school outdoor area.
Nothing is ever an issue for the management or staff.
A home away from home for my daughter and the rest of the family.

My niece started the nursery in March 2023, the staff have always made the full family welcome and she goes into the nursery with a smile each day.
The management has been extremely supportive and helped with the transitional period.
The staff know her very well and help with her development.

I can’t speak highly enough of Clever Clogs Day Nursery. I have a 14 month old who has attended since he was 9 months old and I was very nervous about leaving him. He is so happy and settled and the girls are wonderful with him. I nearly decided not to go back to work but finding Clever Clogs made the
decision much easier and I’m so glad that I did. He has come on leaps and bounds.

I have just recently registered my child to Clever Clogs as her previous nursery suddenly closed. My reasons for choosing this nursery, as it is out of my area, was because of a member of staff from her old nursery who transferred over to this nursery. She is one in a million! She is amazing with children
and has fantastic relationships with parents and staff! My daughter has autism and the member of staff has excellent skills to manage her needs effectively and is totally worth the travel there and back every day! The management team have also been extremely helpful and supportive during this transition and for this I can’t thank them enough. The nursery setting is beautiful and very professionally ran. I am really happy with my choice and feel at ease knowing my little girl will be happy there! Thank you.

We use the Clever Clogs after-school club and our daughter was at their toddler and pre-school childcare before that. The after-school care is great, our daughter loves it and is always happy when we book extra sessions! The children are well-looked after, and there's always lots to do or just time
to chill if that's how they're feeling after school. The parents' app helps us keep up to date with what's happening and to see the different things that they're getting up to. Would recommend.

My daughter spent 3 years at the nursery and went to school knowing all her numbers and writing her name, thanks to the staff which provide valuable learning experiences. Her little brother has now started attending the nursery and is full of joy when joining every day. Lovely staff!

My child has attended nursery part-time for almost a year now, he is well cared for and has developed beautifully at this nursery. I go to work knowing that he is safe and having fun with staff and peers. I'm updated every day and know that I can ring anytime.

Our son has been attending full-time at Clever Clogs Day Nursery for the past year, always seems to be taking part in lots of activities, he’s made lots of friends and enjoys his time there. We also use their after school club for our older daughter and the pick up service is very convenient.

Donna has over 9 years of experience in the early years when she began working as a practitioner with the company. Over the years she has developed from practitioner to manager with the ongoing help, guidance and support from an amazing staffing team and all our parents.


The children are always at the heart of everything we do. It's such a privilege to be a part of the children's starting journeys from the day they enrol with us, watching as they grow and develop along the way.

Nicole has been with us for almost two years, she started as a practitioner in our Clever Thinkers room and was recently promoted to Senior room leader in September. She has a Level Three in childcare and has been working with children for the last 10 years. She has a passion for teaching and providing children with the relevant life skills they need before they go to school. Nicole loves to provide loose parts play opportunities and implement child-led risk-taking.
