Located just two minutes off the junction of the A1 and A690 in Durham, Clever Clogs Belmont provides 96 nursery childcare places for 0-5 year olds and 26 out of school places, including before and after-school and holiday clubs, for schoolchildren up to the age of 11.

Nursery care is provided in spacious rooms designed to complement the various stages of the Early Years Foundation Stage, with children progressing from room to room as they develop their learning.

The staff are very accommodating and have always built great relationships with the children. I have been impressed with the phonics program in preschool, it has really helped my daughter learn her sounds and she has loved it.

Fantastic nursery with staff who genuinely love working with the children.

Although he started at Clever Clogs during the pandemic so parents are not allowed into rooms, my child is very settled and loves attending nursery. The staff are friendly and approachable and have played a great role in my son's development.

Initially, Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont) was recommended by two different people. I knew instantly on my first visit that I didn't need to see another nursery. My son has been going full time since age one and is now in preschool.The staff here are absolutely exceptional and I just can't fault
them for everything they do for the children. During Covid-19 they've gone above and beyond. My son's learning and social development has been incredible and he has formed strong bonds with the staff in each room. I've had no hesitation in recommending the nursery to friends and colleagues and I have complete peace of mind that he's looked after in the same way he would be at home, only having far more fun as so much is crammed into each day. The only challenge is that he doesn't want to leave here to go to school in September.

My little boy has attended Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont) for the last two and a half years and we can’t fault anything about the nursery. The facilities are excellent and the staff have been absolutely amazing. My son was very wary about leaving us when he first started but very soon started to
love going to nursery and this is owing to the excellent care of the staff. He is very happy there, looks forward to going and is learning so much in the preschool group.

My son joined Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont) during Covid-19 last year, due to this I have never seen inside the nursery. However, due to recommendations from friends I put full trust in the staff there. My son instantly came on and his development has continued to progress. I would highly recommend

My little boy has been attending Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont) for around a year now and he absolutely loves going which shows how fantastic they are. He has come on amazingly since starting, learning and interacting every day. The girls are all fantastic.

My child joined the nursery recently in the baby room and settled in straight away. This is because of the wonderful staff at Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont). The staff are gentle, kind, loving and my child really responds well to them. She is happy when she is dropped off and always smiling when
we collect her. I love to read and hear about all the engaging activities they do on a day to day basis and I can see the emotional and physical development in my little girl from this. There is no problem too big or too small, the staff are happy to help, listen and make any changes to a routine that we ask. The building is bright, clean and welcoming. There are lots of creative things for the children to do, the gardens are great and they bring the outdoors in, which we love. Overall, we couldn’t be happier that we placed our child in the care of this nursery. It is fantastic.

Can’t commend Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont) enough. My daughter has come on amazingly well with her letters and numbers, as well as her vocabulary in general. She loves going to nursery and it’s been so beneficial for her, they’re absolutely brilliant.

My daughter has been attending Clever Clogs since she was one and is now nearly three. She loves going in and literally runs in the door with a smile on her face! They have been incredibly supportive with identifying further needs she had, putting plans in place and seeking extra funding from the council
to support her development. Throughout Covid-19 they stayed open and continued to support my little one with anything and everything they possibly could. I cannot find fault with them, I happily and confidently leave my child with them any day.

My daughter has been going for approximately 2 years, she took a long time to settle at drop offs and cried loads but the staff were always happy to talk to me and accommodate any ideas I had about helping her settle including supplying me with a photo book of staff so we could talk and make up stories
about going to nursery.

I'm very proud when I say my children are and have attended Clever Clogs Day Nursery, it's such a fantastic childcare setting. My eldest attended for three years so when it was time for my youngest to start nursery, there was no doubt where I wanted to put her name down for! The staff are friendly,
caring and patient. They're always preparing fun and engaging activities to stimulate learning and development. We are so happy and grateful to the whole Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont) and we're extremely delighted to be able to say that we're part of the Clever Clogs Day Nursery (Belmont) family.

We have been using this nursery for our children for over four years and are delighted with the quality of care offered on all levels. I have recommended to friends. My children have thrived there. Whenever there has been any problems they have been dealt with quickly and not recurred. I feel safe leaving
my child there every day and know that they will enjoy their day.

Nicole has been with us for almost two years, she started as a practitioner in our Clever Thinkers room and was recently promoted to Senior room leader in September. She has a Level Three in childcare and has been working with children for the last 10 years. She has a passion for teaching and providing children with the relevant life skills they need before they go to school. Nicole loves to provide loose parts play opportunities and implement child-led risk-taking.
