Located just two minutes off the junction of the A1 and A690 in Durham, Clever Clogs Belmont provides 96 nursery childcare places for 0-5 year olds and 26 out of school places, including before and after-school and holiday clubs, for schoolchildren up to the age of 11.

Nursery care is provided in spacious rooms designed to complement the various stages of the Early Years Foundation Stage, with children progressing from room to room as they develop their learning.

This is my 3rd grandchild at clever cloggs over 8 year period . Eldest grandson goes to holiday club and youngest granddaughter does 2 1/2 days a week and they love it . Staff vey welcoming and knowledgable and caring . Any problems that arise they are quick to help.

Amazing nursery that provide excellent care and support for my child. My child has developed so much since starting nursery last year. Their confidence has grown so much and to have watched how they have developed has been a joy. The food is always amazing and there is plenty of variety so my child
gets to experience different foods and meals. The staff are always friendly and supportive, it always feels like one big family. My child is always very well cared for and loves going to nursery. The facilities are always clean and there is so much for my child to do. I love being able to see daily updates on the app and love seeing the pictures of my child during their day at nursery. I couldn't be happier with the nursery and my child has thrived so much since starting there. It is an amazing place and I am so grateful to all the staff for their work ethic and support.

My little boy has been attending Clever Clogs nursery for 6 months now. He was very anxious initially and we had a few tricky drop offs but the staff were all fantastic at easing him in, building those important bonds and making him feel comfortable. He now excitedly shouts 'yeah' when we ask if he's
going to nursery so we couldn't ask for more. All the staff are friendly, approachable, professional and it's evident they enjoy what they do. Attending clever clogs has been great for his development, his talking has come on fantastic and he definitely enjoys his nursery days.

The staff are brilliant and accommodate to my child's needs, couldn't be more pleased
As a first time parent they made the transition for my 2 year old anxiety free with constant updates.

Fantastic nursery that provides lots of fun activities aimed towards development of the children. My little boy has flourished since starting this nursery around a year ago. The staff who work here care very much for the children in their care and take such good care of my son. I never have any concerns
leaving him in such good hands. I enjoy the app the nursery uses which means I can check in throughout the day and love receiving updates of what he's been up to and also how his development is coming along.
My only points would be the price of the nursery per day does feel a little expensive compared to others alongside having to provide breakfast and tea and the parking is very poor which can make it a tad stressful at pick up or drops offs.
Overall an excellent nursery with brilliant staff and I would highly recommend.

New to nursery as first child in the family to go, the nursery has made this a great experience.
All girls are lovely and pleasant and have time for my child, which has made me feel really relaxed and don't worry about leaving her in someone rides care. management are great really accommodating

My 14 month old started at Clever Clogs when he was 10 months old. I was very nervous about him starting but from the first visit to the nursery I felt put at ease by the lovely staff in his room, along with the management staff in the office. My son has settled so well and he loves going in, he doesn't
even look back! He has a lovely bond with his key worker and the other staff in his room. The facilities and variety of activities my son has access to is amazing, he has learned so much already in the short space of time he has been there. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and the communication from the nursery throughout the day is really good. This is my second child to attend Clever Clogs and I would 100% recommend this nursery to other parents.

My son has been attending Clever Clogs for a good few years now. He is so happy to go each morning and always comes home with a smile on his face. He's made some really good bonds with the staff and children. It's a very warm and welcoming environment. Would highly recommend the nursery to all my friends

We can't be happier with the service we've had with Clever Clogs. My child is absolutely thriving at nursery and the care and attention they have received has been outstanding. Everyday when I pick them up, I get the genuine feeling that the staff could stand and talk all day about them and I love reading
the little updates to see how they're getting on. Clever Clogs was the absolute best and right choice for us as a family. Thank you so much! Huge thank you to two staff members in particular, because of your hard work, care and attention, my child is absolutely thriving at nursery and they're becoming so confident and independent. Our daughter has been going to Clever Clogs full time, since she turned one (she's now 2 and a half).
She loves seeing her friends and the staff at nursery, so we don't have any issues taking her in the mornings. She came home today with lots of stories (as usual) and an amazing French plait. I can't
even get her to sit still enough to brush her hair, so they're clearly doing something right. I really can't recommend them enough, for any age.

We have used Clever Clogs for both of our children, everyone has made a huge effort to settle in our youngest, who now bounds into the nursery each time. The facilities are great, and we have appreciated the updates via the app to keep us updated on observations and progress. The staff are fantastic,
and our youngest is really coming on since he started. Would highly recommend.

Both of my children have attended Clever Clogs over the last 5 years and I have nothing but praise for the nursery. The range of activities is really varied, fun, creative (and messy!) The meals provided are healthy and really offer a varied diet with an opportunity to try new things. The team work
really hard to make sure the children's routines are maintained and help with forming new ones. (Potty training help has been invaluable). Lastly, the staff are warm, welcoming, engaging and really do go above and beyond to give you a thorough handover and understanding of how your little one is doing.

My little boy has attended this nursery for 15 months and grown through 3 of the rooms already and I couldn't be happier with my decision to place him with Clever Clogs. I have recently seen a major improvement in his speech and development since moving to his current room and each day I can tell how
he's coming on in leaps and bounds. It's obvious to see how much the girls do for him and how happy he is when he is there, from day one everyone has always been so welcoming and caring and their communication is fantastic, it's lovely to get photos during the day to see what your little one is up to and the fun they're having. My little one never fails to skip in and out with a smile on his face. It's clear to see that the nursery has a fantastic balance of fun and education and they really do care about each of the children. Couldn't recommend them more.

My daughter has been attending the nursery for over a year and has built great relationships with the staff there. She regularly talks about the staff as her friends and updates me on what she has been doing. I find the nursery friendly and approachable as they provide regular updates on my daughter's

I'm thrilled with the care and attention my son receives at Clever Clogs. The staff are exceptional, showing genuine warmth and dedication to every child's well-being. They create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters both learning and fun.
The range of activities is impressive and thoughtfully
designed to cater to various interests and developmental stages. My son particularly enjoys the creative arts and crafts, where he explores his imagination and creativity. My son has been attending this nursery for a while now and we have seen a major improvement with him. He is on the ASD spectrum and the staff have been amazing with him. They have many things in place for his needs and have helped him a lot. The staff are all friendly. I would 100% recommend this nursery

Donna Green

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2016

Donna has over 9 years of experience in the early years when she began working as a practitioner with the company. Over the years she has developed from practitioner to manager with the ongoing help, guidance and support from an amazing staffing team and all our parents.


The children are always at the heart of everything we do. It's such a privilege to be a part of the children's starting journeys from the day they enrol with us, watching as they grow and develop along the way.

Lorraine is our office manager who started with us back in July 2024 and handles our administration. Lorraine has an AAT qualification and is currently working to update her L3 EYE qualification. Lorraine is looking forward to spending more time down in the rooms while she continues to get to know our children and families.

I have worked within the childcare industry for 11 years now, qualifying back in 2013, achieving my level three qualification. I have worked within many childcare settings and have worked my way up from being supply staff all the way up to being a room lead. Within my many years of working within the childcare industry I have worked with many different age ranges but working with 2-3-year-olds seems to be my favourite age to watch learn, develop and grow within their development. At the moment I am currently working towards gaining my level 5 qualification in leadership and management and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

I have worked in childcare for over 10 years, originally starting with an apprenticeship in 2014. I have worked for Clever Clogs for 1 year and 9 months and enjoy my job role here. I enjoy seeing the babies grow develop and achieve their milestones. I believe having a great bond with the parents as well as the children greatly benefits the children and this is what I strive to do.

Kayleigh has been a part of the Clever Clogs family for over 15 years. She is experienced across all age groups and has also completed her level 3 SEND course.


Kayleigh is currently our senior in the Mini Adventurers room, where she creates the right environment to meet the ever-changing needs of the children.

Sam is a very energetic member of staff who has been with the Clever Clogs family since 2011.


Sam loves all things outdoors and is forever coming up with new and wonderful exploration ideas for the children both within our holiday and after-school clubs.

Nicole

Nicole Cannon

Job Title: Clever Thinkers Room Lead Joined: 2023

Nicole has been with us for almost two years, she started as a practitioner in our Clever Thinkers room and was recently promoted to Senior room leader in September. She has a Level Three in childcare and has been working with children for the last 10 years. She has a passion for teaching and providing children with the relevant life skills they need before they go to school. Nicole loves to provide loose parts play opportunities and implement child-led risk-taking.
