Bright Horizons Barrow Day Nursery and Preschool

My son attended this nursery from 6 months to 4 years old and I could not recommend it enough, each room caters for the correct age group and the staff are all approachable and clearly care for all of the children who attend. There were occasions where I called the nursery to check on my child if he had been a bit upset when I left and they always ensured that they have the time to put my worries at ease. The thing that matters the most is that my son enjoyed being at nursery, he has made some great friends with both the other children and the staff. In terms of development, I couldn't be happier my son is now ready to start school in September . I would like to thank all of the staff at Bright Horizons for caring for my son and supporting us with his development from a tiny baby to a friendly, happy, bright little boy.

I cannot really express in words how wonderfully my two children have been cared for whilst at this nursery. The atmosphere of love is amazing and they have both come on leaps and bounds during their time here. The staff are second to none and there is nothing they wouldn't do for you. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

Both of my children have attended this nursery and I have nothing but praise for the work they do and the amazing staff! They are all so welcome and caring, always having the children's best interests at heart! It speaks volumes when your children look forward to going to Nursery! I can't recommend it enough.

My little girl has just started school and the transition could not have been better, everything is of such a high standard. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

I felt very comfortable dropping them off and picking them up, with all the girls happy to talk about the children's days and offer any advice.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 11 months old and I can honestly say I have always been blown away by the attitude and professionalism of every single member of staff. I have never once felt anything other than 100 percent confident that they know what they are doing. The staff are excellent in using their initiative and showing an almost maternal intuition whenever a child is in need of comfort or attention.

My daughter's key worker is someone I would quite happily and proudly describe as effectively acting as a second mother to my daughter - I would trust her to look after my daughter above many family members. While always remaining totally professional, she is also able to harness her personality and empathy to develop a strong and loving relationship with my child.

I could not recommend this nursery highly enough; it has quite simply been a godsend to myself and my daughter.

My son has been attending this nursery in the Baby room for nearly a year now and every single member of staff is absolutely amazing! They are really welcoming to my little boy in the morning, and when I pick him up I always peek through the window first to see what he's up to before he notices me, and the girls are always interacting with the children and playing with them. My mum has also commented on this when she collects my son and has said you can tell they are constantly playing with the kids and looking after them. They work so hard and never seem to stop. The managers I have got absolutely no hesitation in sending our new baby to the nursery and recommending it to everyone I meet!

My child has settled into nursery very well, he loves all the staff and they are very accommodating.

The nursery staff are fantastic and made my 18month old feel right at home. After 4 months at the nursery, he surprises me with things he has learnt and how much he has come on and I know this wouldn't be the case without the bonds and relationship he has with the staff. They took the time to help him settle and I couldn't recommend this nursery more.

My son has been well looked after at the nursery. He is extremely confident and adaptable and I am sure this has been contributed by the efforts made at his nursery.

My child has recently started this nursery in the baby room, all staff and management were very friendly and answered any questions we had during settling in sessions. Staff encouraged her to interact with them (singing songs etc) and by the end of the settling in session, my little girl was happy and clapping away. She has settled in the baby room well with thanks to the high standards of care all the staff have shown. My daughter is happy to go to her key person in the mornings and content when I pick her up.

I am proud to say my granddaughter attends this fantastic nursery. The staff and management have been brilliant throughout her settling in sessions when she first started and supported both my granddaughter and daughter with leaving her in their care. My granddaughter is always happy and settled when I pick her up and the ladies in the room are always happy to tell me of various activities she has been up to and what she has had to eat etc. Recommended to all my 'Nanna friends'. Lovely team of enthusiastic staff! Keep it up.

My granddaughter hasn't been attending this nursery for long but our experience so far has been of a very high standard. She is always happy to go to members of staff within her room in the mornings and is happy busily playing whenever she gets picked up. The staff go into great detail about her day upon getting picked up and in case I forget to tell my daughter it's all written down on a daily note which has all information from the day. The women in the building didn't know me at first but a 'password' system that is in place allowed me to pick up my granddaughter. There is a fantastic policy so no children can go home without someone they know. Brilliant nursery. Both myself, daughter and son-in-law are over the moon we chose this one.

My daughter started the above nursery at 16 months through to 4 and a half years and now my son is there, who is 2 and a half but started at 6 months. No words describe how good this nursery is overall. I have never met such a lovely working, caring team that go out of their way for the children and parents, grandparents, carers etc.

Always very clean and happy place to walk into at any time. My children have both formed strong bonds with the staff, to which my daughter still talks about nursery and I wish she was still here, who now is nearly 6 years old. My son always gets excited even if we just pass by.

Lovely nursery with great staff, my daughter has settled in the baby room well with thanks to the kind and friendly girls in the room. They are very informative of what she has done throughout the day and how she has been. I am comfortable leaving my baby knowing she is in safe hands. Will be highly recommending the nursery to family and friends.

My daughter has been at the nursery since she was 5 months old. From the very first day they have been welcoming, accommodating and extremely helpful. My daughter is in the minority in this area and was exclusively breastfed when she started. The nursery was always happy to have a stock of milk in the freezer, and more than happy to learn about using stored breast milk, as well as conserving mine at times (rather small supplies). They were welcoming whenever I came in to feed her in the day and have continued to be friendly and give me updates when I ring to see how my daughter is during the day. I still feed her sitting on the couch at the front of the nursery, and the staff have never passed comment or averted their eyes and instead just talk to us normally - people often don't know how to react to someone feeding a toddler and the staff are a huge credit to the nursery and their training. She also had a milk and egg allergy when she was younger and this was easily accommodated with no problems at all. She also eats everything and actually sleeps at nursery, which is a big change from home! She's very relaxed and happy there. As she has grown and moved rooms. She has had great support and always had lots of cuddles and love when she's needed it. As a result, she chats about her key worker and the other women in the room, more than other children! She's always unwilling to leave me (even to be with her daddy) but will go for cuddles willingly with a certain member of staff and usually goes with a smile. I'm very happy with this nursery and would recommend it to any parents.

When my son first started at this nursery I was (as expected) very nervous about leaving him. All the girls made such an effort to make us both feel at ease with it all and now he loves going to nursery and I know for certain it is because of how nurturing they all are. The communication is also one of the things which are fantastic and I couldn't fault. I get weekly emails telling me exactly what the kids are up to during that week and which members of staff will not be in which is fab. It also tells us of upcoming events which are also very helpful. When I pick him up they are always smiling and happy to go through his day and pass on any letters/artwork etc if needed, and vice versa which is great and we can work together to make sure he gets exactly what he needs and to discuss any changes in his routine. I couldn't fault them and I am so glad I chose to take him here as he loves the nursery and I feel very happy to leave him in their care.

The girls are excellent with the kids. My daughter is always happy to go to the nursery and is always smiling when she sees them. The nursery is always clean and tidy. The outdoor play area and all toys are excellent for the learning and development. She is always happy to eat the food there and has never had any complaints. Overall excellent standard.

We are so delighted with this nursery. Our son has attended since he was 8 months old and we continue to be so pleased with what the staff have provided for him. We are absolutely sure that this is the best place for him to grow in confidence - and the nursery is a safe and happy place for him to be when we can't be with him. This is largely due to the very excellent, well trained, professional, caring and enthusiastic staff who take the time to ensure that all his needs are being met. He enjoys the variety of activities provided and is learning so much about how to be a happy, confident, kind and well mannered person. There are only very good things to say about this nursery and the staff who work so wonderfully with our son. I would recommend it without reservation.
