Kids 1st Wynyard makes a crucial contribution to parents in Billingham and has a team of skilled and experienced professionals support and care for children from the Billingham area.

Staff strive to remain up-to-date with current Ofsted regulations while being committed to a versatile atmosphere in which children can learn and develop.

In addition to its childcare responsibilities, this Wynyard Park nursery organises a range of family events and social evenings to better communicate with community needs, while understanding and relating to any particular parental anxieties.

Our daughter has been attending the nursery since she was 11-months-old and has loved it since day one! The series of settling in sessions were perfect to get her used to the staff and new surroundings. They do lots of varied and interesting activities including outside activities. It is lovely to get
the daily sheet at pick up to know what they have been doing throughout the day, including what she has eaten! Throughout covid, the staff have done a superb job of keeping the children safe in bubbles and having safe drop-off/pick-up procedures to ensure it is as safe as can be for all children and their families, as well as nursery staff.

My daughter has attended this nursery since she was 10-months-old and this month she has made the final move from Puffin class to pre-school. This has been the most difficult transition so far as she has an extremely good bond with her key worker, who is amazing. With the assistance of all the staff
in both classes I now have an extremely happy pre-school kid. My daughter is so happy to be back with her friends who had moved classes before her and is already making special bonds with her new teachers. The staff always go the extra mile and do everything they can to make things right for both my daughter and us.

Our daughter has attended Kids 1st Wynyard since she was four months old and I couldn’t be happier.
The nursery is beautiful, very clean and tidy, very organised! All the staff are friendly and caring, our little one's main care worker is the real-life version of Miss Honey from Matilda! She is an
absolute star, our daughter will go straight to her for a cuddle and high five! We couldn’t have asked for a better person to trust with our child.
We are always kept up to date with what she’s doing, her progress and milestones, photos home showing what she’s been doing that day and what she is achieving.
The communication is fantastic, we are able and feel very happy to ask the nursery to help us when it comes to things our daughter is achieving at home, when she first started walking we told the nursery this and the following day she received a certificate for confidently walking around the room with a walker! Each milestone our daughter hits we tell the nursery so they can help her do it.

I am extremely satisfied with the care and attention we received during my child’s transition into the nursery. We received a lovely welcome which gave me a real sense of being listened to, respected and overall confidence in the nursery team and what the nursery has to offer. A big thank you to all

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kids 1st. Both my son and daughter have been to Kids 1st (my son is in the baby room now). As a business owner my working patterns vary from week to week and Kids 1st have accommodated additional days and arrangements to cover childcare extremely well which made my life
a lot easier. The baby room welcomed both of my children into nursery and both loved the experience. I always feel able to leave them and know they will be well cared for.

Absolutely amazing nursery. This is the second time I’ve used Kids 1st Wynyard. My daughter was born preterm and they catered for her needs in the baby room extremely well and right through to preschool. My son is currently in the baby room and also had health needs and some difficult behaviours initially
and the staff dealt with those incredibly well. Both children had cows milk protein allergy and specialist formulas and medication and the staff took it in their stride. Well done Kids 1st I would recommend them to anyone looking for a nursery!

My son has been in from 9 months until school and has loved the place and the people. I can't thank the staff enough for caring for and teaching him so much. He's confident, polite, kind and considerate, bright and really well-prepared for school.


From his first few weeks in babies right through

to preschool I have trusted the staff and have had no worries or concerns. I got loads of information about how he'd been during the day when I picked him up; got a full rundown of feeds, nappies, sleep every day, loved the daily diary!


The staff are friendly, engaging, caring and absolutely great with the kids. The activities are great, my son has learnt loads, and especially enjoyed learning about space and the solar system. He also enjoyed dancing, crafts, drawing and painting, playing in the garden and the interactive whiteboard.


No negatives for me, it has been a wholly positive experience! Maybe a little more expensive than other nurseries we looked at but definitely worth it.

My daughter has struggled to settle into nursery for the first 6 months but the last month I have seen a massive improvement and this is down to the amazing staff. They are always so warm and friendly towards her. I have seen her come on leaps and bounds in her development since she started. I am amazed
at the words she can now say.

My son has been going to Kids 1st for almost 2 years. He only goes one day a week but all of the carers know him well and he is always happily playing when we pick him up. We are very pleased we chose Kids 1st and can’t praise the staff enough.

Outstanding in every sense of the word. The whole staff team cannot do enough to make you and your child feel welcome, safe, reassured and individual. Beautifully clean, a great selection of toys, kids are happy and having loads of fun. You are kept up to date and well informed of all activities. Food

My daughter currently attends this nursery 5 full days per week and has attended for 3 years now.


The staff here are absolutely terrific, I have always found every single member of staff welcoming, friendly, and most importantly make my daughter’s daily experiences really enjoyable. She rarely realises

that she comes home learning something new every day.


I must give a special mention to her many keyworkers, all have been outstanding and have taken such special interest in the progression of my little girl. And although I realise she is only one of many children you take great care of, we have always felt and are thankful for the individual care and attention.


Not forgetting the catering at Kids 1st, my daughter has numerous foods she is unable to tolerate due to skin reactions etc. Despite this the chef is always wonderfully accommodating, often making special one-off meals whenever possible. A real example of going the extra mile.

I would recommend Kids 1st to anyone as it's the best nursery I have seen/been to by far. I was very hesitant to put my daughter into nursery at the age of 10 months. It wasn't something I was sure I ever wanted to do. After looking around many I was overwhelmed by Kids 1st straight away even on the
first visit to look around to potentially place her there. The staff are excellent, the nursery is immaculate, they do amazing activities every day and I know my child is fed a variety of different lunches I wouldn't even think of making at home. They deliver the best standard of care where I am assured she is looked after exceptionally. The nursery has brought her on so much. I especially love that the different rooms are aged 12-18 months, 18-24 months etc meaning the focus is on that particular age group and they're not just all mixed together from birth to 2 like some are. My daughter adores going to nursery and I would confidently advise anybody to use Kids 1st. Amazing!!

My daughter has attended this nursery since the start of the year and loves going to Kids 1st. She has developed so many skills since starting. The variety of food is brilliant too, she always enjoys her food there. The staff are very caring and they communicate very well with me about my daughter!

Wouldn't have my child anywhere else.
My son has been here since he was 9months old and he has been well looked after since day 1, he is now coming up 4.
The staff are always smiling and enthusiastic about their job.
When I drop my son off I know he is safe staying at nursery due to the security
feature at the front door.
My son gets fed very healthily and always enjoys his food.
His development skills have come on rapidly, he can even count to 10 in French!!!
I am impressed at what he knows which amazes me every day and that's down to everyone at Kids 1st Wynyard.

Our child has been attending Kids 1st Wynyard from 12 months of age and loves it. The staff are all wonderful and very accommodating to children’s individual needs.


Development is encouraged through age-appropriate activities and in line with parents wishes. Our child comes home happy each day and

often surprises us with new things learnt.


We would highly recommend this nursery to anyone in the local area looking for childcare.

My son has attended this nursery for almost three years, I always know he is safe and well looked after. There are staff at this nursery that go the extra mile and I cannot thank them enough for getting my son to where he is today, he has had some fantastic key workers. It is a shame that the weekly
French lessons stopped as he adored these, I even attended sessions and it was great! This nursery involves parents as much as they can, they celebrate every occasion. I have been to a Christmas show, a couple of mothers day events, they even arrange trips for the children, which they love. I viewed a few day nurseries when I was deciding and this one completely shone. The fish tank on arrival was a big hit from day one and they even lets us feed them where possible :-) there are complimentary hot drinks for parents rushing to work on a morning which comes in very handy and they even did bacon sandwiches once to thank the parents!

My little boy has been at Kids 1st Wynyard since he was 5 1/2 months old. It's hard leaving your little one when they're so small. He's grown into a confident, playful and happy boy with the help and support of the staff at Kids 1st Wynyard. It is reassuring to know that he's been so well cared for
while I'm at work and I always know he'll be well fed with healthy meals. He talks about the staff from Kids 1st Wynyard all the time at home. He loves playing with his friends and getting involved in all the activities. I couldn't be happier with the choice of nursery I made.

My two-year-old granddaughter has been attending this nursery for over a year and during this time, she has flourished under the guidance and care of the amazing, dedicated team who work there. She loves attending the nursery and can't wait to go each morning which is a testament to how happy she is
there. The friendly, approachable team are always super helpful and welcoming and when we go to pick her up we are given a rundown of her day including what activities she has been involved in and what she has eaten. The food is varied and nutritious and obviously very tasty as my granddaughter seems to eat every morsel. A fab place with a lovely vibe and highly recommended.

Megan

Megan Goodman

Job Title: Centre Director Joined: 2009

Hello, I am Megan and I hold a Level 3 CACHE Diploma qualification in Childcare & Education, which I earned in June 2009. My journey with Kids 1st Wynyard began in October the same year as a nursery assistant and over the past fourteen+ years, I have progressed through various roles and I am now proud to be the Centre Director.

I am deeply passionate about working with children and am dedicated to helping nurture them in their formative stages, giving them a solid foundation for their future. We work closely with parents to help meet their child's needs and am both saddened and delighted when they formally "graduate" and move on to mainstream education.

Over the years I have pro-actively participated in organising numerous fundraising activities and I am currently Wynyard's designated Charity Champion. I am proud to say that we have raised tens of thousands of pounds in support of the local community.

In my social life enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, going for walks, and more recently have developed an interest in nature photography.
