Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery offers a flexible service to parents with day care, a breakfast, an after-school and holiday club. It also offers two hour sessions and a playgroup.

The nursery's stimulating environment and its wide range of activities ensures that children are motivated and eager to join in.

High standards of care and hygiene practice support the personal care needs of the children. The staff are skilled and sensitive in helping children of all ages form secure emotional attachments giving children confidence in their own abilities.

All children have a key person which ensures that they are all emotionally well prepared for the next stages in their learning.
Staff support children’s transitions both within the setting and prepare them for when they move to school.

My son has been attending the last few months - he was made to feel welcome by staff despite not attending since being a baby. He has enjoyed his days at nursery particularly playing in the outside play area. He has now left to start school in September and his time in nursery has helped prepare him
emotionally and physically for school.

I trust all staff here and know they provide great care to my daughter. She has rarely been out of my care so it was hard on her to seperate from me. With the help from the team, she now skips into nursery, so thank you, team. She has taken a great attachment too with her key worker. I like how they
arrange activities with the key worker and children as it helps my daughter's confidence in being with familiar adults and peers.
The weekly menu is healthy with a good balance.
I feel safe leaving my daughter in the setting as it has many doors and gates to access with codes/bells.
I have recently received a progress update which is fabulous. Will be great to see the next steps for my daughter's following progress.
The manager sends a weekly email with a friendly message/lunch menu which I find useful.
Tapestry is excellent for seeing what your little one is up to and communicating with their key worker for learning. Also, she keeps me updated regularly and my girl loves looking at the pictures!

Would recommend Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery to everyone I know both my children have been here and my youngest 3 always has a fab time! The girls always go above and beyond for her and for me. Love the stay and play sessions offered too. Very warm, loving and educational place which I will be sad
about when my youngest leaves in September.

This is a wonderful place, my daughter has been attending for over 6months now and her confidence has rocketed. I have the utmost confidence in the staff, I know that they offer her the support and care she needs. When I drop her off, her arms are straight out for a hug from any team member, she doesn't
give me a second look now. I love tapestry and getting updates during the day. The nursery are focused on her development and I feel happy knowing she is in a safe supportive environment. I can't fault them.

My daughter has been attending the nursery in Nunthorpe since she was about 7 months old. She is almost 4 and while she has started school nursery she still goes to Nunthorpe nursery in the mornings.
I have always been really happy with the care my little girl gets at nursery. She has Downs Syndrome
and the staff at the nursery have been brilliant at helping her to enjoy a full nursery life, making friends, enjoying activities and developing new skills throughout the years. They have worked really well with other professionals involved.
The overall environment at the nursery is warm, friendly and fun!

My daughter loves coming to nursery and meeting her little friends. The staff are fabulous and are always adding observations of her day which are really lovely to see. It's lovely to see her progress in the nursery and she's learning new things all the time. They do lots of fun activities which my
daughter loves. She gets messy but we love it. A messy baby is a happy baby. She is always entertained and really well looked after. I couldn't recommend Nunthorpe nursery enough.

Nunthorpe Nursery is a warm and welcoming place and the staff are fantastic, they are kind and trustworthy. I’ve been kept up to date with my sons activities on his online diary but also every time I collect him I’m told what he’s been up to and an honest version of how he has been and whether he has
eaten or slept. My son has been attending the nursery since May and his development with his speech and confidence since then has been incredible and down to the hard work the staff put into their teaching.

My son started going to Nunthorpe nursery over 4 months ago, and although he wasn't sure at first, they've settled him in amazing. He loves going now and I love seeing how friendly the staff are with him, I have no worries at all when he's there. And they update me all the time on tapestry which is
reassuring. Would recommend this nursery to anyone with a young child looking for care.

I’ve always been impressed with Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery for a number of reasons. The first reason being that they’re very flexible and help wherever possible, even when there is short notice. Secondly, all of the staff are fantastic and make it so easy for the children to enjoy their day. Finally,
the quality of the food for the children is exceptional and I always find myself envious when my little boy tells me what he’s been eating.
I can’t recommend highly enough!

Excellent friendly staff, supportive in all needs to parent and child. The environment is very child-friendly as you would expect, but there is a lot for the children to do, use, see and explore. Excellent teaching to get them ready for school. Lovely music and singing too. Overall cannot fault them.

My little boy is fairly shy/quiet but always enjoys his session at this nursery and wants to go in every time we drive past! The staff are proactive and supportive in helping him learn new skills and have been excellent in communicating with us about his progress. I know my son is well looked after
at Nunthorpe nursery, all the staff are so caring and professional.
(My only minor gripes are to do with the building itself. I find the corridors and doorways very difficult to access with a buggy, especially a double one! It would also be great if the outside space was bigger and not right next to the main road, but obviously, I accept that the nursery can't do much about either of these issues!)

My son has been at Nunthorpe 1 or 2 days per week since he was around 8 months old, he is now 3 and a half. The staff in all the rooms have been excellent with him. The outdoor play area is great and staff are constantly changing/updating the wall displays and indoor activity stations. My son has enjoyed
trips to the farm, den building in the woods and visiting local care home residents for sing-alongs. I get updates about his activities and observations on his progress regarding his early years curriculum milestones via tapestry system, this is usually updated every day he attends. I can’t recommend this place enough, the staff are all superstars!

I can't recommend Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery enough it's such a lovely place, the staff are great with the kids and very approachable/ helpful, the atmosphere is welcoming and the children love it. My little boy has really grown in confidence whilst he has attended.

Due to a family illness, we had to find childcare for our youngest son quite quickly. Our other 3 sons had been cared for by family and this was a real trip into the unknown!
All I can say is that all the staff have been fantastic, our son has taken a real shine to them and has made lots of new friends,
which took a real weight off our shoulders.
We were guided through the 30 hours free childcare scheme by the manager who again has been a great help to us.
The facilities are good and a great environment for the children.

My daughter is 3 years old and has been attending Nunthorpe Nursery since she was 15 months old, the staff are fantastic and always have been. The setting is very welcoming and I have never had any issues. My daughter enjoys attending nursery and she will miss all the staff when she leaves for big school.
She has learnt so much and I can not thank the staff enough for this.

My little girl started here in April just after she turned two. The staff are so welcoming and friendly they quickly put my mind at ease about leaving her. I love the little updates on Tapestry through the day so I can see what she’s been doing and she can still have her afternoon nap so stays in a
routine.
It’s perfect for our needs and such a lovely place I only wish I’d brought my older children when they were small. I’m sure they would have loved it to.

Hello, I'm Katie.
I have an NNEB and foundation degree in Early years childhood studies and have worked in childcare for 32 years here at Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery. I started out as an Early year's educator, working my way up to deputy manager and now proud to be manager. I take great pride in my nursery and love to welcome new and returning families. We have a fantastic fun and safe environment. I have lots of experience with Sen and higher needs children and enjoy working with families to provide the best possible care and education for them. I believe having a strong team helps children achieve their individual learning goals by working together and working alongside parents and families collectively.
I look forward to welcoming you to our nursery.
